The nomad tribes have the best idea of what is going on.

Yeah I am skeptical that this means anything and if it somehow coincidentally turn out that something that can be interpreted as this prophecy happens it will feed into Observance and make us think we should trust the bablings of brain-damaged people.

Provinces: [Main] New Settlement - Bleeding Cliffs, Eastern Redhills, [Sec] New Settlement - Western Blackriver

We have to switch to the Defensive or manually wall it, it borders nomads.
Not sure about the vote; let's say:

Listening to his ramblings may well trigger Observance.

Fuck that noise with a rusty iron pike dipped in shit.

I do not see it as a viable option to come up since we already have push back.
I'd rather put the mine off a turn then risk having to decide between "no iron mine until you can overturn the worsened belief against metal" and "people think the king brought DOOM upon you, lose a couple more legit and stab, maybe risk rebellion"

Also, switching to

At least for now, until @Academia Nut confirms whether econ-expanding actions that don't specify, say, end-of-turn apply by mid-turn by default when it matters like this, or if we'd need to pass an admin roll

Guys, we'll be at 5 Econ by the beginning of next turn. Why are you gambling on having 5 at midturn next turn?
Well, odds are our big action for next turn is [main] Iron Mine, which is likely to give us 3+ econ. Alternate possibility is [main] Proclaim Glory, which doesn't cost any. Costs one.

I don't think meeting the condition is the tricky part of that pick.

Wait sun spear ash hmm it could be a volcano erupting the lava spurting out could look like a sun spear while it rains down ash. So I am guessing that a few turns from now the comet will come back and the volcano the TS are currently living next to will erupt resulting in ash raining down upon our civ.

I sincerely doubt we're getting to choose whether or not the comet shows up next turn. Either we prepare for the comet, in which case if it shows up we'll have prepared for it, or we don't, in which case opening the mine and having the comet show up will go very badly indeed.

Honestly, I am more intrigued by the Star Mirror. Any idea how a 'pool of clear water' (small lake? river cut-off?) could benefit us?

The trickiest bit is that proclaiming "we have reason to think that the great comet is returning! We shall stockpile food to ensure your safety" might not go well with "also, we're digging out even stronger weapons of the gods...but dont worry, i'm sure they won't get mad and make the comet we're predicting worse :V "
Like...frankly i'm paranoid enough that no matter the option chosen here i dont want to do the mine this turn, just in case. But even ignoring that paranoia i'd be shocked if AN didn't add at least an extra stability hit to the iron mine action-that our people believe causes spiritual peril-if we choose to tell our people that we're preparing for spiritual peril...

Assuming we are actually at 1(+2) Mysticism, I'm seriously considering Star Mirror. Studying optics or something similar could be very, very useful. Disrupting a holy site is likely to hit us with -1 Mysticism, which we should be able to absorb by my count.

Stockpile Resources is a reasonable pick too since we should get a massive econ boom from the mine and doing it as a main should give us the benefits immediately going by how Copper worked.

Treating mental illness as a sickness would also be nice, but seems least likely to provide us with side benefits.

@Academia Nut
What sort of study would be done at Bleeding Cliff or Star Mirror? Would we just be telling our shamans/priests "go check this place out" or would it be a bit more focused?
(Also repeating the Mysticism stat question, we were at 2 and we only spent 1, where did the other one go?)

We can deduce what three of the four mean
Black mirror= Star mirror at the the black river settlement
Sun Spear=? I have no idea what this means
Bleeding Vein=Iron veins at the bleeding cliffs
Return Sky Streak=The return of the comet

So any thoughts on what sun spear mean?
Black mirror sun spear ash bleeding vein return sky streak.

Sun spear ash. A comet can be considered a sun-like spear. But another thing. The Thunder Speakers believe in a Sun Chariot. So something about them.

Personally I think this is just glitchy brain speak but I want the Stability.

Say the Comet comes I think no matter what we do the people will consider this guy as having predicted it so best to look like we are preparing and get some benefits out of it.

I need to calm down now, the threat of not getting the mine next turn is making me glitch.

We have nothing to lose from stockpiling resources just in case. If we're wrong it becomes a reserve. If we are right we get much needed stability. The mine will still be possible next turn. Academia Nut's foreshadowing is pretty reliable.

there is no comet, what happens?
or he ist made it up is false & we observe that injuried people don't know what they are talking about,

do actions like expand econ take effect before mid-turn?

It does, we gain econ immediately from expanding econ, which is why we could main it next turn to ensure we will have enough econ even if one of our provinces does take the expand forest action and it get doubled by law

So any thoughts on what sun spear mean?

:p

Black mirror= Star mirror at the the black river settlement
Sun Spear=? I have no idea what this means
Bleeding Vein=Iron veins at the bleeding cliffs
Return Sky Streak=The return of the comet

Hah figured it out

It refers to a fucking meteor;

...Fuck it refers to a fucking meteor, now we have to hope that it won't hit anywhere close to us, if anything I hope it either it's the thunder horses capital or the nomad army

either way

Black Mirror = Night Sky
Sun Spear = refers to it's shining tail,
ash bleeding vein = refers to the impact or rather the burned crater that is left from the impact,
Return Sky Streak = could refer either to a comet returning or to a meteor shower appearing, probably the former then the latter due to the return part
