[] Everything! (-4 Econ, +1 immediate stability, chance of extra stability, ???)
We will be getting refuges, we can afford to lose Econ, we will need stability

[] Yes, the people need to be further calmed (-1 to +2 Stability)
A little gamble here.

[] Even less friendly groups should know of the magic (Shares with many groups, chance of stability gain, ???)
This or

[] Everyone, even the Dead Priests! (Shares far and wide for -1 Diplomacy, +1 Stability, ???)
This, since if we give it to everyone else, they would get it anyway.

[] Speak with spirits (Twythulmyn dies, +1 immediate stability, +1 Legitimacy, ???)
We need stability

[] The People must offer aid (-4 Stability, +8-11 Econ, probable overcrowding issues, ???)
This, or maybe even the next one.

How about something along this lines?

We get a lot of Econ, are the good guys, lose our King, but the legend of the first King sacrificing himself for the People is an extremely powerful message in itself.

Thoughts?
I dig it.

I see it leading into a society like the Culture. Very advanced and very powerful but they want to help and they make lots of friends for it.

Sacrificing the king hurts but...

But. It could be a very interesting thing to get. I kinda want a Beacon of Hope Trait.

Do or die.
Or both.

[X] Everything! (-4 Econ, +1 immediate stability, chance of extra stability, ???)
[X] Yes, the people need to be further calmed (-1 to +2 Stability)
[X] Everyone, even the Dead Priests! (Shares far and wide for -1 Diplomacy, +1 Stability, ???)
[X] Speak with spirits (Twythulmyn dies, +1 immediate stability, +1 Legitimacy, ???)
[X] All who need aid must receive it (-5 Stability, +11-15 Econ, overcrowding issues, ???)

Can everyone stop joking around and pushing for incredibly risky plans? Even AN said himself that taking 5 stability hits would be super damn risky.

Plan DocMatoi
[X] Many may enter (-3 Stability, +6-8 Econ, ???)
Want to avoid overcrowding, but not be dicks about it
[X] Yes, the people need to be further calmed (-1 to +2 Stability)
counter to above
[X] Large (-3 Econ, +1 Stability, ???)
with the many entering, we soak the econ hit and gain back some stability
[X] Even less friendly groups should know of the magic (Shares with many groups, chance of stability gain, ???)
get that herd immunity, but also fuck the dead priests (they'd probably just kill anyone we sent). Also, if they get it secondhand, they'll probably botch like we did at first.
Seriously. Fuck the dead priests.
[X] Remain home (Chance of stability gain)
gotta soak that stability hit.

People should stop looking in the sky. Also stars are messing with everything.

Maybe a sun went supernova?
It's straight up just the comet- meteor showers are caused by passing through a comet tail.

[X] No, it is sacred magic (Small chance of stability loss)

I won't be satisfied until their Dead Priests' wall is turned into rubble and their blood feeds the roots of our Sacred Forest. No cure for them.

As to analysis of your options @tenchifew

[] Everything! (-4 Econ, +1 immediate stability, chance of extra stability, ???)
This counters the negative stability we are at. The Econ sucks mega donkey dosh but we will probably have time to recover while everyone else is losing their fucking minds.

[] Yes, the people need to be further calmed (-1 to +2 Stability)
I don't think this is necessary and comes off a little too authoritarian.

[] Even less friendly groups should know of the magic (Shares with many groups, chance of stability gain, ???)
With this we give it to every one but the douches in the DP. They will probably take a few generations to figure it out.

[] Speak with spirits (Twythulmyn dies, +1 immediate stability, +1 Legitimacy, ???)
We need stability. And it would make for an awesome legend. Our First King dies to save his kingdom. Messiah anyone? Or something even better.

[] The People must offer aid (-4 Stability, +8-11 Econ, probable overcrowding issues, ???)
This might lead to us becoming a becaon of survival to oppressed peoples or people who need help. The land of Shambala or Nirvana.

Incredibly risky but we might be able to wing it.
Lets not loose our heads and talk this out.

Spirit chief: if the king sacrificed himself, can we make it less painful? Will we be able to have majority of our people to witness the event if it happened?

He would have to be conscious, but there are herbs that could help calm him, yes.

yesterday was Good Friday and today you're giving us a choice wherein our King dies for what many presume to be for our sins. Is this intentional?

Not at all.

What are the chances that sacrificing all our econ would lead to a trait that specifically pushes for us to give up all our econ again?

*waggles hand*

Looking at it again I see RH either helping us or killing us.

As it stands with this option and Not taking RH we would end up between -2 Stability and -3. Not sure.

We do NOT want to sacrifice our king. We, OOC, know it won't do SHIT and once this natural disaster ends, it'll make people think it WORKED. And then their first response to ANYTHING will be 'sacrifice the king.' No way, Jose.

We're at -1 Stability. This is already risky, we can't afford anything more.

Where do you get that?
GM said so. It comes from us having Harmony.

Keep in mind that, while most civs break from ending a turn at -3, we break if we hit -3 at all during a turn.

And we're starting at -1.

Point.

Getting close to fear mongering. Not there but close. I dn't agree it would create such a thing. It might create a tradition of kinds who think "Kingdom first, my comfort second" which could be interesting.

And that's just one possible good trait we could get.

Well, not everyone has fully embraced this truth. I've been on the fence ever since AN didn't show us the magic duel between Bynwyn and the Spirit Talkers. Plus, guarenteed stability in exchange for a perishable good. Gotta maximize those returns!

2969 Didn't help when he gave that one an Insightful. I know it proves nothing, but it messes with my mind. And I like it!
