Let me put it this way:

Kyubey hails from alien civilization conglomerate following Clarke's third law.

We want to save all magical girls everywhere in the galaxy.

For the time being, it seems that allying with him is somewhat safer and more productive than maintaining the state of affairs where our rewards are still inferior to Madoka's contract.
We've had this discussion before. Here's what someone else who thought like you had to say:
So I have reread Oriko.

Yeah, I was completely wrong.

That's what Homura's for. Or Yuma, since the expected result of magical girl mitosis also wouldn't have the issues that the morgue would.
There are a lot of risks with that. For example, what if by briefly inhabiting the body the witch changes the way the brain is arranged into a manner closer to how theirs was in life? We could get actual brain damage instead of the comedy stuff, or a split personality.
And as always, being "nice" to the rat and not keeping conversation to a minimum is worthless in terms of "being on good terms" with an emotionless hive mind that wants us dead and just feeds him information we don't need to.
That doesn't mean there's any point in being polite to it. It legitimately doesn't care.
He's emotionless, not stupid. Our aggression levels for example can be used to predict the extent to which we will actively oppose his plans. How much we oppose his plans or help his plans determines to what level he will fuck with us.
Playing nice or being useful does not make Kyubey less inclined to witch us out or kill us for a payday. That's just the nature of the creature.

It also is alarmingly perceptive and manipulative to the point where interacting with it at all gives it ammunition and it being actually surprised is something that only happened twice in all of the canonical media. Treat it as the single biggest threat in the quest, because right now? It is.
To what? How? Why? Are you trying to make an ally of Kyubey? Because he's a backstabbing psychopath and I can't even begin to articulate how bad an idea that is.
Just because the rat uses a different system to decide what actions to take than humanity, it does not mean that he will automatically always try to kill us under all circumstances. Psychopaths can in fact be dealt with, so long as you understand what they want and what they do not want. Understand that it is not friendship or trust that is being proposed here. The name of the game is to manipulate Kyubey into believing us too useful to destroy.

The main ways to do that are to take actions which are cheap to us but useful to him, and to talk in terms of how our actions benefit him. For example, giving him the grief we have following us around is a cheap action. We do not need it, he wants it. If we were to mention our work, we would not say we're trying to find a way to save all magical girls, we would say we were working on a project that would increase the total grief output of the planet in the long term. If we were to talk about Sayaka or Nagisa (perhaps as a response to him trying to contract them in the future), we would say their continued non-contracted state was essential to an alliance that would help spread the system that would increase the grief output of the planet.

Except that it really isn't possible to win him over since his goal is and always be our death. Eventual or sooner, we aren't going to be able to outbid him, and even if we could we can't trust him to act in a way that doesn't involve bad things happening to us for even the potential for a higher payoff. (ie: Rebellion)

We do know what he wants. What he wants is more grief. In a theoretical perpetual alliance, eventually fucking us over will pay better than working with us, and he will fuck us over.

Also, your plan is to manipulate Kyubey? You may as well challenge Homura to a hair-flip contest. It's his specialty.

Can we just move on? The dude's inherently untrustworthy by his very nature, and yet at the same time, the hateboners for him are kind of annoying, not to mention slightly dangerous.

@Gadjo: If he no longer wants us to witch, then it is safer.

Long-term, I'd see us becoming immune to reprisal due becoming privy to that same third law.

Ideally, I'd see "witch" become a word fallen in disuse - and as things are we're going to need his cooperation for that.
Do you really think we can outbid the payoff for a MadokaWitch or a SabrinaWitch given that potentials of "Yes" were involved?
If we can make it possible for everyone, everywhere, from present to future to be an immortal meguca - not just the ones with potential - then yes.

And once we have that, well...We'll be a goddess.

What does goddess do to Kyubey?

If we set up a galaxy wide system that is superior to the current one in terms of grief production and requires our continued existence, then we can outbid him.

The point is that unnecessary interaction or attempts at manipulation are guaranteed to end poorly and make our life more difficult for no real reason.

That's like saying "if we become a god, we can outbid him".

*Sigh* Whiskers has a point. Neither side is going to budge for now. Most of the thread will never agree to work with Kyubey in our current circumstances, and the few of you that would like to attempt it won't be convinced it's a bad idea.

Let's just drop the argument until it's up to a vote.

Not saying that our objective is to save all magical girls is something I think we can all agree on.

Past that, without giving it details it has no reason to trust our evaluation. Giving Mr. "You Didn't Ask" obviously incomplete answers will do nothing.
"if we become a god, we can outbid him".
Experimental results indicate that this claim is false.

It's just starting to feel like you guys are just starting to talk past each other by this point. That and we've already talked about this several times before, using similar arguments, and it's starting to get annoying.

It's actually pretty simple. Immortal meguca system with constant population growth and a nearly zero death rate is guaranteed to eventually produce more grief than than the current system. With FTL and proper supply chains, it would be possible to keep several hundred worlds in clear seeds (or an infinite number through proper application of time stop and other time powers).

The tale of Sabrina and the Incubator:

Once upon a time, a girl named Sabrina and an Incubator arrived at the edge of the river of entropy. "Oh no," said Sabrina. "I cannot cross this river without someone to guide me."

"I cannot cross this river either," said the Incubator. "Let me sit on your head while you swim, and I will guide you."

"But if I do that," said Sabrina, "You will take the opportunity to use me for energy."

"I cannot swim in the river," replied the Incubator. "If I used your body for energy, I would fail to get to the other side."

"That makes sense," replied Sabrina. "We can have a mutually beneficial relationship."

"Yes," replied the Incubator.

So, Sabrina swam with the Incubator on her head. He watched closely and guided her as she swam.

Then he began to use her body for energy.

"What are you doing?!" cried Sabrina. "We had an agreement! Now we'll both drown!"

"It is my nature," replied the Incubator. "I realised that if I drained you slower, I could float on your corpse, still get to the other side, and I could get your energy as well. It's a win-win for me. I benefit, so obviously I'd do it. You just didn't think of what I could work out in the future."

So, the Incubator lived unemotionally ever after, getting everything he wanted while everyone else suffered and died.

The End

The Moral: Don't swim while something is sitting on your head.

Apologies typing on a phone at work is suffering.

My last post was obviously rushed. And needs editing.

I don't have time to properly respond to posts right now.

I'll need to wait until the workload dies down or late tonight. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Right, what were we going to do after lunch anyway? We just saw Kyoko pretty recently, but we haven't visited the other two meguca in town (for the life of me I can't remember their names).

Ehhhh, Kyousuke healing, Witch hunting, more SCIENCE?

For reasons I didn't quite understand, we didn't want to come over as pushy by talking to Masami...because asking to meet up and chat as acquaintances would have been too pushy?

Madokami: "I'm replacing your current system with one that is less efficient because I don't like witches."
Homucifer: "I'm enslaving you to Humanity for the rest of time because I don't like you."

The evidence seems pretty strong that goddesses have the ability to screw over incubators.
