According to my calculations, a 90m sphere should contain enough air to last for almost 18 days if we were running at a full sprint the whole time: I'm going to go ahead and add the grief interdiction sphere to my vote.
I don't think we should be too pushy with Kyoko.Point, it's certainly not the worst plan we could do, and social links are always a plus.
Kyoko's been having trouble hunting, and can probably do with daily cleanses. Plus, we still need to reconcile her with Mami.

I'm totally up for naming our hammer after Graf Eisen. Vita s my favourite Nanoha character. There's something I'd like to add to this part of the plan.
If the size change fails, attempt to create a grief construct of a hammer that's designed to be able to shift size at will. A fitting choice would be Graf Eisen, a size shifting magitek hammer that has a German speaking AI built in. The presence of an AI may also make some progress towards the creation of familiars.
Unlike Masami, Kyoko seems okay with us. Kyoko also didn't specify that she would let us know when she wants to meet, again unlike Masami. So, unlike Masami, meeting with Kyoko doesn't have to seem pushy.
Much as I love Nanoha, we've got enough offensive grief constructs that I don't think Graf Eisen is going to be good for anything but amusement. You're right that we could try familiar creation from the AI angle, but it sounds like you think that's a side benefit of having a big hammer. If the size change fails, attempt to create a grief construct of a hammer that's designed to be able to shift size at will. This. We know each other, helped them out of a bad situation, and share territory to an extent. Asking if they want to meet up and stressing that it's just a friendly visit has no reason to be a problem at all.I don't see a problem with visiting Masami. She prickly right now, yeah, but we're never going to make friends if we don't interact with her. We're not inviting ourselves in for tea, just talking a little and offering cleansing. Should be fine.
I realise that, but our normal hammer doesn't have a name yet, and that reminded me that naming it (are hammers traditionally male or female? From my understanding, blades are male and firearms are female, I think, but I'm not sure about hammers) Graf Eisen would be cool. (Or we could give it a unique, appropriate name, like System Crash).
We interacted with her day before yesterday. She prickly right now, yeah, but we're never going to make friends if we don't interact with her.
Likewise. If current barrier creation ideas don't work or we don't try any out today, I'd like to check a free familiar to see if its barrier is easier to replicate.
Forget friends, we're never going to be more than tolerated if we can't follow simple instructions like "don't call us, we'll call you". Relationships aren't just grinding time spent together.
Except that she never even approached saying "go away, don't bother me" and it seems like a misreading to suggest that. No, but interacting with people is a necessity for getting to know them. Showing concern is also going to be useful. We interacted with her day before yesterday.

I don't remember that. But if we make hammers too big for our hands, we can make giant, floating grief hands to hold them. The hammers seem to hit magically harder than raw grief, so it could work.If I remember correctly, we did try conjuring bigger hammers once but ran into the problem of them being unusable due to their weight being what they should be for their size unless it was our regular hammer. We weren't using grief constructs that time though, so its more a test of if a weapon made as a grief construct can defy that aspect of physics.
Sabrina: *Pushing random meguca out the barrier* "No, no, I assure... I'm not a Witch, I just have witchy powers due to my wish. Yes, really, now thanks for coming by, here's your complimentary Gem & Seeds cleansing, please come back again soon! Off with you." *Throws meguca out*inside our Barriers.
...And then we start pulling hostiles into our Barrier for combat and we have to run the poll again.

Yeah, but if we get the link reversed then we have to waste a whole afternoon praying or whatever to fix it, and that's if we can even figure out where to go to do it.But...but Bonds of People Are The True Power. I have all this Chariot EXP...
Size shifting would be cool, but I'm a little more hesitant about the idea of creating a sentient AI (for familiars or for anything else). That's a dangerous box to open (and a difficult one to close), so we should be sure that all of our bases covered before we try it. The potential benefits of creating a friendly AI are extremely tempting, but the potential downsides are... well, just look at Kyuubey for an example. There's something I'd like to add to this part of the plan.

Hammers are traditionally considered to be male (even more so than swords). Phallic symbolism and all that.I realise that, but our normal hammer doesn't have a name yet, and that reminded me that naming it (are hammers traditionally male or female? Can't find it...It was a really really long time ago. The only reason I even remember is that I only started following the quest a few months ago. I'm pretty sure it was before the endless timestop hunt for Oriko, although it may have been shortly after that.
Which makes this look weird, though it's likely that Mami just didn't give it much thought the first time:Firnagzen said:You lose control of the Grief at a hundred meters away, and you can feel it try to maintain its coherence, to consolidate, before it dissipates. It simply spreads out, like a mist the vanishes in the morning sunlight.
You scratch your head. "Ah... I've lost it," you admit to the others with a depreciative chuckle. "I guess that's my range limit, then."
"I've found my range seems to be restricted to a hundred meters out."
Mami gives you a surprised look, avoiding a protruding duct without even looking. "That's... unusual."
A grief AI is probably the least likely thing to turn into a seed AI, IC because we have total control over its hardware and OOC because Firnagzen can't properly model one and even if he could having a Singularity three weeks before the climax would override whatever story he had been planning on telling. Further OOC, anime AI tends to be more C-3PO than a Culture Mind, and Graf Eisen in particular seems to be more like a parrot or German-speaking dog with superpowers than a proper AGI.
You know, I expected us to have checked the limits of Lichdom by now. Do we need to breath? Can we maintain conciousness as a Soul Gem somehow? Etc.
