I should probably clarify, since the joke about killing hero units was something I typed up a while back and forgot to delete when I answered Lab Accident's question.

The upcoming Crisis is very much a big deal (tm). Tad wasn't completely wrong when he said Kataclysm was Baby's First Crisis. If Kataclysm had been more damaging, it wouldn't really have been fair, since you A) had no real scale for what a Crisis was on the receiving end and B) didn't really get a fair shake of opportunities to actually deal with it. It also helped that Hego was the one who took the brunt of it, since he's a pretty durable guy who can take a lot of punishment, so to speak. A bunch of different things coming together to kind of soften the blow.

Negaduck is a bit different from Kat.

Negaduck is a King, and more than that, he is a very strong, very dangerous King who is explicitly specialized in horrible grisly violence. In his show, he took over his home planet before coming over to this Earth because he was bored of ruling. Negaduck is not personally attacking Danville. That much Xanatos has told you. He's only sending you one of his hand-picked Hero Units instead. Which is good for you, because it turns the situation from 'potentially quest ending' to merely 'probably devastating'. Let's go down the list.

Liquidator or Bushroot could, if left unchecked, completely flatten Danville. The former would do more wide-scale damage, but the latter would be more difficult to root out afterwards, as it were. They pose different problems, in the while Bushroot himself goes down easy (speaking relatively), he's also a scientist, and left unchecked he could find all kinds of weird plants and make them your problem, some of which may continue to be your problem for a long time afterwards. Liquidator is made of water, so the problem with dealing with him is pretty obvious.

Megavolt could do irreparable long term damage to your infrastructure, for example frying DaedelOS's mainframe is something he could concievably do if he's rampaging through Doof Tower, and is arguably the one that can do the most single-target damage through his ability to thunderbolt someone. If you look back, you'll remember Circuit Breaker can immediately down someone on hit.

Quackerjack...keep this between you and me, but Quackerjack is the member of the Five I'd be most worried about if I heard he was coming, discounting Negsy himself. Quackerjack plays smart. He doesn't have the abilities that the others have, but he makes up for it in his ability to be precise about his damage. He'd probably open up with bombing key infrastructure. Or maybe he'd jump one of your weaker hero units and use them as bait. Or maybe he'd just grapple through your window and make a precision strike on Doof while he's getting his morning coffee. Who knows?

Oh, and of course, it may be someone else, with unforeseen surprises for you! Wouldn't that be something.

Regardless of who attacks, you should probably expect to get hurt. Getting through the Crisis without damage is....hypothetically possible. In theory. This is one of the most violent Kings currently active on the board going loud.

Please understand what that means.

Why would we want BOTH? Plus, I got from the moon thing that the Dream Queen explicitly CANNOT attack so long as Negaduck is still doing his thing.

Why are we going with the joke? I don't want Negaduck getting...CREATIVE.

Oh, also. Russ won't die on this vote regardless of your choices. He didn't crit fail.

He might die later, if it rolls out that ways. Who knows?

I was going to say that Reminds Me Of A Joke isn't worth it, because potentially damaging our relations with a whole slew of other kings sounds like a disaster….

But then Argidoll's post very clearly reminds me that we have bigger problems immediately at hand, namely just how much destruction we might be hit with soon. To be blunt, we may be down multiple Hero Units permanently, including emotionally important ones (thank goodness Vanessa isn't here, which is funny considering we were just worrying about her going to SF not that long ago). Very valuable property will almost certainly be damaged; I can see DEI Headquarters getting wrecked or even totally destroyed. Millions of Doofanians may end up homeless if we get Liquidator. We may have a ton of debt to pay off when everything is said and done.

So with all that in mind…I care less about pissing off other Kings if it can give us any sort of leg up.

Millions of people across the COUNTRY could die. Also, like....FEMA is a thing.

I flipped a coin for it.

More seriously, I'm pushing chaotic longshots as a bit of a thing, going against something I openly rolled like that is a bit much.

What happens when the Full Moon wanes?

If we can expect anything to be similar to real life in mystical metaphor, it's phases of the moon.
I don't think it means the literal phases of the moon, it means the crisis won't come until the CURRENT ONE is over, whichever one the moon was foreshadowing.

People could DIE, man, please take this seriously.

Still not sure which one I want between Unplanned, DQ, and creative Negaduck so I'm just going for the one I know I want to take

[X] A Frightful Sight

[X] In the Queen's Court

Not thrilled about it, but free chance to special prep action is worth it

Of course it doesn't mean the literal phases of the moon, but the metaphor implies the Moon will still be in the sky when the Dream Queen arrives and still strong, if weakening.

And if the Moon is Negaduck.....

A lot of these personal actions are self-evident. But the main one I want to argue for is Russ's "Spy on Doof". We've done a lot of good this past turn from building security bunkers to curing diseases and starting to do things that indicate we're getting over our delusion such as setting up a lobby, so I think doing this now could be good to raise Russ's loyalty in preparation for a chat next turn.

I disagree with you. I still think Fred would be better mechanically to have more hands on deck dealing with the crisis. I would also argue if you REALLY want to do a Russ loyalty personal it should be Toons to remind himself of who he's fighting for after coming into contact with Negaduck's evil.

But I don't think it's worth arguing over. I'm happy enough with this plan to get in line and back it over everything else I've seen proposed.

I unironically like our chances more with Dream Queen then Negsy
Then why you'd vote for the one that potentially makes Negsy MORE dangrous?

I feel like it's worth noting that most of Argidoll's examples of damage were a lot of infrastructure damage, and the first one to bring up Heroes specifically was Quackerjack.

Does this mean our Heroes are safe? No, of course not.

But even Kat in Baby's first crisis stuck us with either depleting funds or rolling well on Stewardship actions, and this is almost certainly going to be worse, so if there's anything I'm really worried about it's our action economy in the aftermath.

Which is a great reason not to immediately start the clock on Dream Queen.

I'll switch to to Dream Queen if necessary, but good god, I have no idea why anyone thinks making Negaduck a). More dangerous, and b). actually paying attention to us as opposed to us being one of half-a-dozen afterthoughts, is in any way a good idea.
