I finaly toke a good look on the character sheets and the fact that hazou when un fucked is almost as good as noburi on raport and empathy surprised me.
That's because the hivemind traditionally underinvests in socials (including on NPC behalf) and then gets away with it due to QM generosity in terms of social combat frequency. When social combat does take place, you usually lose.

Vote tally is currently showing no plans, likely because the interlude reset it @Velorien @eaglejarl @OliWhail .

Also, I am behind on thread conversation, but I feel like I don't need to be up to date to know what happened/almost happened with the shipping chart. Less bad then the youth suit incident, at least.

[X] Inferno Vulpix
[X] Roomba
May this summon Roomba briefly back into the fold.
Just run the tally with an earlier starting post.

It's not clear from the wording.

@eaglejarl @Velorien
Is this an additive effect or is it multiplicative?
If in doubt, faflec.response. The QMs live according to this principle, and so should you. (Well, according to this principle and faflec.reaction.)

Edit: now I wanna see Marked for Learning
Mother of Learning is already supposed to be a ratfic, so it's much less in need of our intervention than... most things, but especially Naruto.

Excellent! Another Gouketsu gave us an explicit permission to sacrifice them for our goals. I think that only leaves Noburi, Snowflake, and Kagome?
Did Kei say that?

Which one first? Additive and then multiplicative, or multiplicative and then additive?
See above.

Edit:
Also holy shit hazou is more traumatized than Kei.

To be presice he have a bit more trauma than kei and akane combined and the same bit less than kei and Noburi combined.
Despite everything, Kei has gradually been getting over her issues and building mental fortitude over the course of the quest. Meanwhile, Hazō has been leaping into danger and trading sanity for power like he memorised the Necronomicon for fun and now the stars are right.

I've noticed that social combat has been being rolled a lot more recently. Probably worth considering how the meta is changing to make those stats more valuable

I was trying to see what other Prominent character shares traits, feats and goals whit Hazou in order to make a comparison, my answer? most villains from D&D
  • Overly ambitious
  • Disregards the natural order of the world
  • Sees the natural order of the world as wrong
  • His subordinates don't trust him to not sacrifice them if the time is right
  • Got into power by suspicious circumstances involving the death of his predecessor and the forfeit of the other contender.
  • Has been corrupted by powers beyond the veil.
  • His second in command is world-renowned for abusing others' trust and love.
  • His never-ending quest for power has caused misery for innocent people.
  • Has an underground (sex)dungeon.
  • Seduced the young heiress of an Honored royal family.
  • Seduced an innocent girl who was in a position of vulnerability after being betrayed by someone she trusted, and now said girl is not only one of his henchmen but also his unwed lover whom he is planning to turn into a weapon of mass destruction.
  • Has regular contact whit beings beyond reality who give him orders and help him in his machinations
  • Practices necromancy
All we need to do is burn one village and we will have a party of adventures trying to stop us.

...Yuno is right. Not rationally, but morally? Emotionally? In every way that matters other than pure calculated probabilities? She is 100% correct. I would like to vote for a plan that concedes to her the point verbally, partly because yeah, she is right, but also because she expects punishment for saying this and Sage-fucking damnit how can we call ourself Goketsu Hazou and not immediately subvert her pessimistic rational expectations for the better? Consider it a 'gift' for the coming of age celebration.

sure, make it into a plan i will vote for it.

Yup. One, two. Those weren't, like, white-room scenarios, but what ninja does those?

Also, didn't Kei socially crush Anna so hard she forfeited her soul? That's something.
You have no basis to believe the first one was them. In fact, the priors suggest otherwise. The second was all Kei, which supports your case in one sense but leaves you with a single point of failure in another.

Ah, damn. I did have a nagging suspicion that I was misremembering a thread speculation as a canon fact.

The second case, though: but it's not simply a matter of the physical fight, it's also a matter of planning, tactics and strategy. They had a combination of powerful bloodlines at their disposal, a concentration of power that seems at least comparable to that of a Summoner, they knew exactly whom they were facing, they had time to prepare, and yet they still lost. Hazou's and Noburi's meatsacks might've not ended up fighting them directly, but the entire makeup of that battlefield and the dynamics in it were extensions of Team Downfall, and it proved lacking.

We did not memorized the necronomicon for fun we did for fun AND profit.

Downfall is so far beneath our level it's laughable to think of them as rivals. We're Sannin track ninja and they're scrubs

To be fair, social combat usually, (thanks Oro) has less drastic penalties for losing than actual combat. So if you're trying not to get killed, it makes more sense to focus on actual combat, and take your social lumps. Then eventually FOOM into a kami of charisma. Plus we have Mari the social specialist to sic on people if we need to.

True, but an over-reliance on Mari is part of what's brought her to this point. She's constantly working, constantly having to twist people in the Clan's favor. Mari's, essentially, been on a constant I&S mission since we joined Leaf. Is it any wonder why her mental health has suffered so?

I am still going to strongly suggest that all of uplift heavily invest in deceit. It will protect FOOM and give us more leverage in social situations

IMO Mari's larger issues predate the move to Leaf. It's possible overwork exacerbated them, but she genuinely enjoys a large part what she does. She had a month doing manual labor for Tsunade and that didn't seem to do a thing. Not that we could get a straight answer out of her with a crowbar, a fifth of vodka, and three Yamanaka jounin.

there are assignments that she likes and assignments that she doesn't, she was getting better but dealing with oro is taxing for anyone who is not Kabuto. plus, i think she doesn't like working in the home front and/or when everyone can see what she does and pass judgement on her actions without having a better alternative themselves.

at least yagura only punished her whit slicing her soul to ribbons whit his own and promising execution, not denaying and brushing off any character development she has had.

I didn't get the implication from ROTP that the Oro debacle was what they were referring to. I thought it was more like twisting the Merchant Council to her will, which from my reading she enjoyed the hell out of.
