  • Confide in Kagome about Zabuza flashbacks.
  • Ask Snake for dungeon-clearing SOP. Try accessing the ANBU's information about the basement?
  • Strategy:
    • Safety is highly important, but our goal is reclaiming useful resources, not destroying everything.
    • Within this constraint, give Kagome carte blanche. Gear, preparations, tactics, precautions...
      • Assist him as needed.
    • Entire operation should take a week, max.
      • Adjust ratios of prep/clearing time as Kagome stipulates, but some clearing must happen.
    • Below are suggestions.
  • Preparations:
    • Reinforce the upper subbasement via 5SB'd platforms (in case the dungeon collapses).
    • Prevent legal troubles: label everything within the dungeon our clan secret. Get Keiko's and Naruto's help.
    • Put the following on standby:
      • Kabuto and/or a team of medics (promise to share interesting biological samples).
      • Several clanless genin (chakra batteries).
  • Gear:
    • Personal:
      • Full-body suit, gloves, gas mask (akin to CHAOS suits'). Wear several layers of clothing, with upper layers easily detachable (glue traps/grabby abominations).
      • Tunneler's Friend, Usamatu's, Banshee Slayers, Earbusters.
      • CHAOS suits for Hazou and Kagome.
    • Clones:
      • Lamp seals.
      • Cages with small animals (to check for biology-detecting traps).
    • General:
      • Seals, stretchers, first-aid kits.
      • Kagome's deployable barricades.
      • Soap and lye for disinfecting.
      • Substitution logs.
      • Flour.
  • SOP:
    • At the end of each floor, create a staging area:
      • Isolate it from the floor below via Air Domes/Force Walls.
      • Spend a couple minutes disinfecting the area.
      • Put medic tents within.
      • Leave a Naruto for security.
    • Clearing (room-by-room basis):
      • Open the Air Dome/Force Wall hatch using clones. Toss in several Usamatsu's, then Tunneler's Friends.
      • Have clones (Elemental, then Shadow) visually survey the room without moving in. Identify possible hostiles and traps.
        • Try to disable traps without triggering them, preferably via Shadow Clones acting under Kagome's/Akane's/Panashe's (if available) instructions.
        • Same with living entities: aim to disable covertly and from distance.
      • If a room has multiple exits:
        • Block all except the entrance via Air Domes/Force Walls. Explore them one-by-one.
        • Re-seal all branching paths before moving on.
      • Leave trails of substitution targets.
    • Safety:
      • Don't get separated.
      • Watch each other's backs. Don't trust walls, floors, ceilings: something might tunnel through.
      • Avoid touching anything, delegate to clones.
      • MEW off especially dangerous areas.
      • Retreat at the first sign of nontrivial medical issues.
      • Beware esoteric threats:
        • Memetic/antimemetic hazards. Genjutsu seals.
          • Possible countermeasure: Mari interrupting them with another genjutsu.
        • Invisible threats (use flour).
        • Illusory walls.
        • Spatial anomalies.
        • Nature chakra (Noburi: be careful with draining).
    • Catalogue and store everything.
    • Have fun!

As I asked on discord, I want MMKII's plan to have a throwaway line asking Hiashi to let us study biosealing - I expect he'll say yes since we've already done ridiculous seal-related things, and Hiashi is as practical as he is an asshole. (Including this here in case anyone has anything to add.)
 
It might be better to explicitly *not* have shadow clones go in first. If there's a memetic hazard naruto could eat it. I was thinking earth clones.

If Naruto knows another cloning technique he should use that - unfortunately none of the rest of us have the chakra to keep throwing clones into it, and the Noburi method isn't nearly as efficient as Naruto's ability to spam and use clones.

So now we have the makings of a popular movement and by gaining it we have rocked the boat of Leaf's political landscape. Every other clan, including our political allies, are now almost assuredly much more wary of us. So, provided we don't want our friendly neighborhood ANBU showing up at our house-complex, we need to keep this new organization mostly focused on providing for necessities rather than (debatably, and most likely argued by someone unsympathetic towards us) formenting civil/political unrest. Ami also must have no authority in this organization, full stop or we could be accused of conspiring with a foreign agent, aka treason. She gets to offer advice only. We don't take orders from her. We don't let her order anyone in Leaf. We keep her well away from anything we actually do with the organization for our own safety.

All of this 'power' she handed to us will turn into poison if we don't take action to prevent our own demise. We've basically done what Danzo tried to do with his clan and Hiruzen yeeted the shit out of him. Now we've succeeded once against the biggest bloodline bigot currently holding the throne. At this point we aren't just playing with fire: it's more like we're playing with thermite in our bare hands.
 
For dungeon crawling, we probably want Mari on hand with Sunny Day, in case of mental hazards. If she doesn't trust her judgement, she sticks close to Akane, who can make that judgment for her.

We want 5SBs ready to go in key locations in case something threatens to collapse the house.

Keep a chain of substitution targets all the way back to the entrance and out of the house. Make redundant paths if possible.

Use two spools of 5SB rope. Alternate which spool is active and which rope is being repositioned so that the floor never has to be touched.

Use living roots and echolocation to look through floors and around corners.

We can probably take the morning/afternoon to train Nauto in Earth/Water clone if he has either of thise elements?

Have 100 of them go through each floor first as a meatgrinder maybe?
 
You know, this is actually really clever, primarily due to Naruto's involvement. Normally, this kind of initiative would have the clans race to squash it, as they did during the official vote. However, Naruto is a hero of Konoha and one of the village's two remaining S-rankers, fresh off getting cheated of his vote in the election. That makes this a perfectly proportional and justified political counter-move of Naruto's, and opposing it would be seen as strong support for Hiashi's actions thus far. I doubt the clans will very much like the KEI, but they should be much more restrained in their opposition.

TLDR: Hiashi spat in Naruto's face, so it's now far more acceptable for Naruto to spit back.
 
@MMKII , looks interesting but not paranoid enough for Snake Uncle levels of security.

We should guilt trip the shit out of Tsunade to act as our emergency medic just in case something really nasty lurks in our pre-owned lair. Oro would have known about shadow and other types of clones available in Leaf and developed countermeasures for them. We might need a Yamanaka to help out in case something memetic could knock Naruto out again: have the mind-technique people mind-wipe or sterilize the mind of a clone before it pops so Naruto Prime won't be incapacitated. We should ask him to see if he's thought of anyway to protect his brain from such Itachi-level attacks in the future and if he would be willing to face such dangers again. If we phrase it right we could call it testing in a relatively controlled environment. We're in Leaf after all and that level of attack wouldn't be easy to replicate anywhere outside of actual combat.

Tsunade might also be needed as an expert on how long we should quarantine ourselves in case we get exposed to... anything suspicious really. It would greatly set back Uplift if we accidentally unleashed a plague on Leaf just by doing some spring cleaning.

I'd call it situational in this case. I couldn't think of any reason why Hazō would hide the favour thing from Naruto, and it would have been easier for all concerned if he didn't. So in the absence of explicit instructions...
 
@eaglejarl, @Velorien, @OliWhail - Supposing we might have looked into it off screen during the day of the council vote, could we get more information on what's going on with the Turtle Scroll? Since Gai left it to all three of his students collectively, and only one of them could actually use it, are they just expected to hash the matter out between the three of them? If so, do we know how those discussions are going? And if they are at an impasse, does that give the Hokage and/or the Clan Council reason to arbitrate?

Also, do we know whether or not Rock Lee could actually use it, given his difficulties with chakra?
