I thought his affinity for fire came from the fact that he had Narya, which was the ring of fire.
Lotr does not map cleanly to warhammer magic, but I'm being very much inspired by Unhappy Anchovy's interpretation.

To sum up that interpretation, all of his combat spells are fire based outside of some light shows as Gandalf the White and he's the type of mage who stirs passion in people, inspiring them.

Maybe we can go by quality instead of size...

For example she steals Lord Kroak´s Pinky Bone...

I'd rather not go anywhere near the skeleton that can annihilate us by looking in our direction.

I'm not even sure how much I'm exaggerating here, Kroak was by far the strongest magic user in the setting when he was alive and is still around after death by his own will

Can't say I remember that myself, but if so it seems we're moving along towards an endgame of 'and this is Ranald, Ancestor God of Luck and Hiring Wizards'.
It was sometime a couple votes ago when we were considering whether to block the Waystones or not. I asked Boney if Ranald might be around since this is a pretty big thing and Mathilde's his favorite and all. The response was almost word for word "You're stealing a city from Chaos. If he isn't present, it won't be for lack of trying."

This realy makes me want an omake of Ranald rushing through a bunch of super important chores and hurrying past obstacles, and, I don't know, getting chased by Ulric because he took a shortcut through the divine version of his backyard or something so he could get here on time for this.

Yep, Ranald's definitely showing up!
There was also this right after:
...Is that a confirmation he'll be hanging around? Because it would be really nice to have some divine presence when all hell breaks loose. Also we need somebody to relay our clever scheme to somebody who can properly appreciate it, like Heidi.
If he's not, it won't be for lack of trying.

...And now I wish I had access to my computer.

I think im going to bed

dont want too with one hell of a chapter coming.

but that's life.
Hey, at least you'll be able to wake up to something awesome.

Anyways, we've talked a lot about how the dwarves will react to this whole caper, but... what about Empire people, like Algard? "Ready for more of the best kind of news?" Just a shame we didn't manage to go three for three on what fits that category.

Ulric chases Ranald all the way here, and then the Winter Wolves are like "IT'S ULRIC! I feel his presence! Our battle today is BLESSED!"

And Ulric is suddenly awkwardly in the spotlight like, "Uhhh, yep! Yep, you all get some blessings. I definitely intended to be here from the start. Good work, all of you. Fighting daemons, doing survival things in the north. Yep."

And Ranald keeps giving him thumbs up, and Ulric keeps trying to discreetly smack him through the Aethyr while Mathilde isn't looking with her damnably good magesight.

Shallya: Why are you rushing out the door, dear? You haven't even had breakfast yet!
Ranald, putting on his coat backwards: Mathilde's finally used the Protector! I have to make this count, or she won't ever use it again!

Given how we even got the Protector for saving the Okral, I would say it's probably going to get the biggest workout of all of them. He's definitely made it count.
