What nobles are like Mathilde? She who invested in her fief, and did so to improve her people's lives? Exceptions. You will find piles upon piles of nobles willing to fight on the front lines or build walls to defend their stuff from rival nobles (and greenskins etc.), but almost none who would be moved by a waystone in the Old Quarter improving the lives of those they routinely abuse and exploit.

EDIT: I'll concede on Bretonnia, where only 95% of nobles are terrible people.

You miss my point, which was that motives and intentions don't actually matter here - building mottes-and-baileys and things to improve the local economy like Mathilde did are in fact still for the benefit of the common people even if the noble who ordered them built did so out of selfish reasons, because he was afraid a rival noble would attack them or whatever. Materially speaking, that's not all that different for the people living within.

Now, you're not gonna hear me say that a majority of nobles do have charitable intentions in mind or don't abuse their power and wealth, but my point is this: Mathilde being a decent landlady isn't a huge exception, because being a decent landlord doesn't actually have anything to do with good intentions but with doing things that improve the land while also keeping commoners content, not necessarily happy.

As for Bretonnia, IIRC Boney's previously said that their knights do in fact show up in places where nobles are acting in the ways they're not expected to, because that's part of what they're sworn to and also it's the stuff of stories. It's not such an exaggerated situation as it is in canon, I think.

That was the biggest factor, but the Sigmarites also opposed it on their principle of Magic Is Bad.

From this point of view, problems with attending our library isn't that much worse than attending library in other part of Empire. Nobles and wizards don't exactly travel from one library to others. Ostland's library is used mostly by people from Ostland, Moot's one is used by people from Moot.

I don't see problems with our library been used mostly by people of Karak Eight Peaks. Especially since we hired and taught many of them to read and write.

And remember, from our collaboration with Moot, it's implied that journey to K8P is long, but not unimaginable, and people will do it, if needed.

This all just supports the original claim that Mathilde's library won't be seen by 99.99% of the Empire, so thanks?

I remember learning how big and scary nuclear bombs were and then I did some research for different quest and I was utterly terrified that water like in say Mariana trench could just choke the strongest weapon we ever devised in it's crib. Who knew lot of water trumped splitting the fucking atom. Nature is scary yo.

The strongest nuclear bomb ever detonated is roughly 2% as powerful as the most powerful earthquake on record. 50 megatons from the Tsar Bomba, 2500 megatons from the Chilean 9.5 magnitude earthquake

You can go bigger than that, even without starting to get into meteors or anything (the Chicxulub impactor was 72 teratons, around two and a half thousand times more powerful than Tambora). Tambora was a 7 on the volcanic explosivity index. Any supervolcano (Yellowstone, Taupō, Altiplano-Puna) is classified as such by having had at least one eruption that reached an 8 on the scale, ten times the power of a 7.

The natural world is frightening. For all our technological might, the wrath of Mother Nature is still something we can't yet match. For all our domination over the sciences, we are still humbled by the sheer force that natural disasters produce
 
Ah... Hello? Explosion of reality that kicked off everything? Still see the aftereffects billions of years later as cosmic background radiation and the expansion of the universe? Literally named 'The Big Bang'?
