You give your stunned acquiescence, and for weeks you watch as Algard and Kragg have loud but enthusiastic disagreements over the fundamental nature of magic,
crap I am starting to ship it crap I am starting to ship it

The light's not quite strong enough for most of the phases of one, and using the other would be inadvisable.
Right, the light of Morrslieb is not quite strong enough for our purposes, and so it would be inadviseable to use the other moon which is even weaker.

Glad I definitely analysed this statement as intended.

So... remember those jokes about the Eye of Sauron.

1) Basically an entire mountain as a tower. Check.

2) Can look everywhere in the vicinity, including outside the mountains surrounding the K8P. Check.

3) The land is surrounded by mountains. Check.

4) Is incredibly difficult to reach, due to the easiest way being through a GIANT GATE FORTRESS. Check.

And last but not least: 5) Everything caught in it's gaze is turbo fucked.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have actually created Barad-dûr.
Yes, this is good! And in fact, I think there is more to gain from mimicking Sauron. See, if we look at Sauron's other names, there's one in particular that I think would suit Mathilde perfectly. We should definitely do some leg work to attain it!

... And if any of you ask, I am going to claim that I am talking about "the Shadow in the East", even if that's clearly not the one I want and everybody knows it.

You have my Axe!

Odds of pushing this vote through when we could be poking at long-term research are roughly 0% at this point, but it is my dream.

Might take a little bit of prepwork (ex., some seriously killy magic items or spells to help with mutant trolls) and additional training (invisibility, universal confusion, better assassination, etc.) to be realistic but it's not unachievable; we could actually do this. There's no light inside the mountain and Mathilde has Substance of Shadow, darkvision, and a hell of a lot of murder at hand.

If we could clear the more pressing bits of the backlog and finish all the spells needed for magic 8 next turn we could do it the turn after that. Kvinn-Wyr isn't immediately pressing but it would be very nice to bring into Karak Eight Peaks without casualties and it would mean half of the peaks are in Dawi hands.

The impression I got was that Alakazam and company managed to transmit their entire consciousness to the location where they were telepresent, so they had (close enough to) zero transmission delay in the immediate vicinity, but would have several seconds to a few minutes delay on responding to anything in the location of their actual physical bodies.
But then he got the information from his student and replied to that information from where he was. I don't think it was astral projection because he was still receiving information from his main body. So their entire consciousness couldn't have been in that zone. So either he figured out how to split his mind (which as a vampire is likely not impossible, we see Luthor Harkon be forced into this state) or he figured out how to metaphorically make where his mind was and where his body was the same place.

I've wanted this since it first appeared and was resigned to it not being taken due to the vagaries of plan voting, so obviously I'm going to vote for it now.

(Also, it's the most time critical option of the bunch)

Ranald is Real
We really need that button-pushing .gif but it's Ranald and the effect is rigging things for Mathilde.

Kinda feels like it'd be stealing Exmorri's shtick... Which is admittedly perfect for Ranald.

Couldn't find any great images of Ranald though, which is a shame.

The tower is truly shaping up to be a magical marvel, Ranald delights in playing Boney as much as he does Mathilde.

Another update filled with engaging worldbuilding, solid characterisation and touches of gravitas and humour both. A hat-tip and thanks, once again, Boney.

Still, you know one of the low-key best bits of the update?
Panoramia.
"Damn right it is. Good man. Now I don't have to mess with memories." The Ducklings look alarmed, but Panoramia's rolling her eyes. She's caught on to your ways.
Panpan thinks she knows us. Thinks she's wise to our tricks, penetrated our depths, inured the cocktail of humour and terror used to deliver lessons.

The downside to all of this is that when you ask Panoramia if she thinks it'd be a good idea to use the eternally-burning fires of Dwarven Hell to weed her gardens, she laughs, looks at you, realizes you're not kidding, says "no" a lot and then runs away.
Oh, sweet, sheltered Panoramia. Your happy Halfling homesteading adventures cannot grapple with the Ranald-nudged scope of our ambitions. You can't penetrate the heart of Shadow.

You know nothing, Jade snow.

One point about the Vote- if the nice [] ENTRANCE: Pleasant foyer wins as looks likely, then the
[] Sitting Room
becomes of peripheral utility- something to add eventually, but in the meantime we'll have a perfectly pleasant foyer to act as reception room, with a view.
eternally grateful when the hot springs of Wurtbad prove you wrong. In a blatant sin against the Colleges, you linger in the baths for days as you read through the books the libraries sent.
There's a tangle of metal pipes to deliver hot water to the room for use with the brass tub tucked into a corner, as well as hot spring baths around the back should one prefer. The food is straightforward, no Halfling nonsense or Brettonnian pretension to be found, just quality meat cooked to perfection and served with fresh bread and plentiful gravy, and seconds is always available should it be desired. The servants are always at hand when desired and never to be seen when not. By your third day there, you're starting to wonder if you can fit an indefinite stay into your budget.

While I am reminded how much Mathilde enjoyed the hot springs of Wurtbad, and might enjoy this opportunity:

[ ] Bath Room
Between Dwarven plumbing and a combination of runes and enchantment, you could create a private bathroom that would make Emperors envious.

Swankiest bathroom in the Old World? Why not!

So the Tally is currently a battle between the Shrine to Ranald and Bathroom...

Mathilde's creature comforts versus her devotion to her god who blessed her world changing project.

Decisons, decisions.....

Does the current votes suggest that there would be a plan that opposes setting up a Shrine to to the Gambler next turn?

I think we only get four rooms and I don't think shrine is anywhere near sitting room or vault.

From what I understand the most popular idea consists of working on Queekish (which involves an action on the Skaven prisoner and one to boost Wolf so he can help), learning invisibility and adding to the tower.
