I'm just pondering. In terms of "single rolls that have had the most influence on the course of the quest", for quite a while it was unquestionably Roswita's attitude toward mages. As things go on, however, I'm beginning to think whatever roll got
Kragg the fucking Grim interested in the K8P reclamation has changed the entire shape of things to come more, on aggregate, than anything else. (Kragg
and Thorek, if we're being honest, but while Thorek is...well, Kragg's lesser but at least in his weight class, he doesn't have the same impact on dwarfen culture. One's the greatest living Runesmith by normal standards; the other's a Living Ancestor.)
Was doing a little bit of math.
So, the front page of SV says there was around 5,000 posts today. I'm not sure what counts as "today", but I assumed the last 24 hours.
In the last 24 hours, this quest has had around 43 pages in this thread. At 25 posts a page, that's a little over 1,000 posts.
Literally 1/5 of the posts for the day was in this thread.
Holy shit. That is damn impressive. And Boney's writing definitely deserves it. This is the best quest I've read in a damn long time.
@BoneyM, given the pillar of Dwarf Hell passes through Matty's penthouse, would it be possible to hook up any future defensive additions for the penthouse to take advantage of the Rune of Gazul?
That sounds like a TERRIBLE IDEA. What we have here at present is the possibly sole and definitely greatest collaborative work between the absolute peak of Dwarven runecraft and Imperial wizardry, with a heaping helping of divine blessing to top things off. We
maybe, at absolute best, understand a quarter of the wizardly portions.
How about we
don't try to tap it for every odd thing in its general vicinity when we have approximately no clue how it actually works? Like, even barring the chance of Gazul taking offense WHICH IS NOT SOMETHING I WOULD LIKE TO CHANCE this is
so far beyond our comprehension that...well. Maybe in twenty years we might be able to do it safely. If nothing else came up to interfere with studying it.
Yeah, right.
