...what methodology did you use to get those percentages? The fact that they sum to less than 100%, rather than more, seems extremely off given approval voting. Did you divide by the sum of the vote counts rather than by total number of votes?
I put every vote into a pie chart maker.

edit: and I got 101% (so rounding error) when I added them up? not less then 100%

Oh, I see, so you're still including those beneath 40 votes but just bundling them as "other"? I assumed that was an artifact of making a pie chart with less than 100%. Either way, point stands - that's not a very meaningful way to count votes when approval voting is in play, since "what percentage of votes were for a given character" is much less informative than "what percentage of voters voted for a given character" (which is what Omegahugger measured).

Trans *Johann is now my favorite Johanna

It really makes me wonder if gilding would allow transitions, since it is conceptually 'perfecting' the affected areas. If the person involved had a strong view of what perfect was for them, that didn't match current?

Ok, yeah, I really do like this idea. It offers a really cool way of doing these things that isn't the expected amber, jade, or shallyan approach.

Edit: omega'ed

I suppose we hadn't met Johann before he'd gilded his torso and legs. At least that was implied, when we noted he started wearing gloves (after gilding his arms).

What's a bigger threat to a dragon: a blind wizard, or an artillery barrage?
The wizard. The Dragon can't hide from the Wizard, so his blindness isn't too debilitating, and you can just walk away from an artillery barrage. (My extensive dark souls experience has taught me that walking to the side is an effective defense against ranged attacks).

In case it's not sufficiently obvious by the illustration:

Virgin: needs to cover himself out of fear of the peasants, still has poor fashion sense.

Chad: Completely naked all the time, except for his Giuseppe Zanotti boots.
