Have to think about a lot of things, but I do know we've got a recurring book budget (by grace of Boney) for a reason, and overspending (by more than 100%!) without urgent need seems profligate, and kind of pains me. Ultimately any book Plan which avoids that, but:

this attempt is presumably meant to be one plan, but is in fact registering as two plans:
[/] [LIBRARY] Waystones (Imperial Extensive, Dwarf Extensive) -- 215gc, 2 DF
[/] [LIBRARY] Eonir (Imperial Extensive) -- 85gc

It should probably be something like:
[X] [LIBRARY] Waystones (Dwarf Extensive Antiquarian) -- 200gc, 2 DF, Eonir (Imperial Extensive) -- 100gc
or
[X] [LIBRARY] Linguistics (Dwarf Antiquarian), The Eonir of Laurelorn (Dwarf Extensive), Waystones (Dwarf Extensive)
(215gc and 85gc splits doesn't sound right either)

This is just cool, and extremely Bond Villain.
[X] [ROOM] Gyrocopter Hangar
Includes a retractable landing pad and a reinforced outer door that cannot be easily distinguished from stone from the outside. The Eye is less accessible from here than it would be to a balcony landing pad.

[X] [COLLEGE] No purchase.

[X] [BOON] I have no idea what to spend it on. Put the matter aside for now.
[X] [BOON] Save it until the Karak is wealthy enough to afford my ambition.

I'm worried that if we don't use the boon, we will either never use the boon, or end up using it for something we could have done some other way out of panic.

Voting closed, writing has begun.
[*] Battle: Surreptitious Intervention
[*] Karak: Windherder
[*] Personal: Xeno-Affinity
Was our vote in any way surprising to you?
Diversification is one of those things that's going to take time for them to grasp. Their bone-deep understanding is that there's The Way To Get Food and though that Way can change, doing multiple at once wouldn't make sense. One way must be better, so that is the Way. Just do that.
Aren't they essentially already diversifying by putting a set price on silk?

Was our vote in any way surprising to you?

Not really. I do my best so that any of the options in a given vote has a shot at winning, because otherwise there's no point to it being an option in the first place. That means that most of the time, any given result is one that I thought was a possibility.

Aren't they essentially already diversifying by putting a set price on silk?

Only if they rely on it as a food source, which is two of the options listed.

I get that. I don't get how the idea differs. Like, the last option could either be my most or least favorite of the three, but I don't know because I don't know what it will actually cause.

You're overthinking it. If you don't want to spend the Boon now, pick the option that most closely matches why you don't want to spend it now.

A thought. With Thorgrim's lack of actions on Belegard's reclamation of K8P and the Dawi's Weaver's Guild lack of interest in the We's silk, it feels like the more traditionalist folks of Dawi society is unintentionally encouraging the K8P Dawi to develop away from traditions. Adopting some human flexibility and trying out new things at a faster pace.

[X] [WE] Scavenge the Gauntlet
I want Dwarf Rough Riders with Giant Spider Mounts, and I want them as soon as possible!

I want to try analyzing these for pros and cons as seen by the We, for fairness sake.

[ ] [WE] Hunt the Badlands
Pros: Independence. Large range may give novel experiences.
Cons: Lowest pickings as a hunting ground. High danger. Long distance costs more energy to transport food and may lead to more frequent Hive/Hunter disconnections.

[ ] [WE] Hunt the Mountains
Pros: Independence. Safer and closer than first option. Novel food.
Cons: Untested food.

[ ] [WE] Scavenge the Gauntlet
Pros: Very close. Steady food. Few surprises. Work alongside the Karak-We.
Cons: Less independence. All food hunted gets subtracted from silk trade gains.

[ ] [WE] Bounty System
Pros: No need to exert themselves. Usual food. Interact with various friendly not-We.
Cons: Unpredictable supply. Strong dependence in Karak. Complete dependence on not-We in general. Loss of hunting experience or Hunter caste value.

[ ] [WE] Economic Integration
Pros: Become one with Karak-We. Steady food supply expandable at will through more silk production.
Cons: Complete change of lifestyle. Complete dependence on Karak. Complete removal of Hunters in their traditional niche may unbalance We.

Personally, if I were playing the We, I'd go with the Gauntlet while securing the right to switch to Mountains for any reason at a later date.

And as Mathilde I want to be completely fair to the We.

The Battle Wizards put in a decent showing, avoiding any major miscasts while still providing solid contributions to each major battle,
Hmm... I wonder how often battle wizards get actually battle experience. The battles that the battle wizards have been a part in have so far been fairly straight forward all things considered. Yet how many battle wizards survive those first few battles. The empire might be able benefit from a solid core of experienced battle wizards that this campaign results in. At least for a while before they fall in battle.

What is [] Plan Pickle's Preference? None of the name links in the vote tally lead to an actual plan.

Sure, that's something you could make happen.

Since Boney confirmed that the dwarf upgrade is still available, I would really like this.

[X] [DWARF] Have a Grandmaster Engineer have a go at the Stirland Repeater - 8 favors

Having a grandmaster streamlining the production process and improving upon the current design is likely to have significant positive impact down the line for Imperial military.

We currently have over 70 dwarf favor. Rather than being the average RPG player who stockpiles health potions for boss fights and then never use them, let's use some of our favor to facilitate a positive change in the wider world.

Anyone who feels the same way, I urge to vote for it.

Uuuuuuugh the vote was at a really awkward time. I meant to stay up for it, but I fell asleep, and now I have woken up to a bunch of problematic library votes that I am gonna have to beg people to fix. So it goes.

This is what I had previously referred to as "Plan Pickle's Preference". 350gc out of pocket cost.

@EVA-Saiyajin, @ConfusedCanuck, @DragonParadox, @TripleG316, @Dres: You have all cast your votes for [*] Plan Pickle's Preference. I ask you to change that to the properly-formatted one I have above -- it needs the [LIBRARY] tag in any event, and I don't want the library vote to actually use a plan name because that makes it difficult for people to understand what's being voted on just by looking at the tally, which is important in a vote as complicated as this one. @Rafin above, for example, was confused and didn't know what people were actually supporting. I have edited my earlier post to make it clear how people who want to vote for this should format it.

[ ] [LIBRARY] Linguistics (Dwarf Antiquarian), The Eonir of Laurelorn (Dwarf Extensive), Waystones (Dwarf Extensive)
This is what I had previously referred to as "Plan Pickle Penny-Pinches." No out of pocket cost. I am not voting for it, but if you want something like this, here's a properly-formatted plan.

@SaltyWaffles, @Avemap, @Andmeuths: The math for that is wrong (it's 50g per bonus, so it's 100g per "extensive," I'm not sure where the 85 and 215 came from), and since only the top-rated Library thing will win, putting it in separate categories will not get you what you want. If you want to vote for those topics all together, here is a properly-formatted Library vote for you:
[ ] [LIBRARY] The Eonir of Laurelorn (Imperial Extensive), Waystones (Imperial Extensive, Dwarf Extensive)

@Kebarton: Your vote is also not going to be useful because that is not how Library votes work. If you wish to spend exactly the budget and no more on only Eonir books, here is a properly-formatted way of doing so:
[ ] [LIBRARY] The Eonir of Laurelorn (Imperial Extensive, Dwarf Extensive and Antiquarian)

(This post had some mass-tagging, for which I apologize, but it's about formatting rather than trying to get people to change the substance of their vote, so may the gods forgive me.)

That's a lot of Favour, but I'll give it a try.

EDIT: @TotallyNotEvil, to respond to your query about the dragon books, I can't really justify it over our other library priorities at this time when we've got a +6 in our library already and I don't see anyone really hyped to post a bounty for dragon bone. I suspect we'll just end up rolling the College Favour staff material gacha later on.

EDIT: Approval voting:

[X] [LIBRARY] Linguistics (Dwarf Antiquarian), The Eonir of Laurelorn (Imperial Extensive & Esoteric, Dwarf Extensive), Waystones (Imperial Extensive, Dwarf Extensive), Ulric (Bretonnian Extensive)

Adding Ulric into the library vote since three of the five factions in the big diplomatic kerfuffle - Ulrikadrin, the Eonir, and the Ulrican church/Middenheim - are Ulrican. We're getting involved in that enough that we got 1/3 Ulric this turn, so it's a very good idea to stock up on the relevant books so we'll be prepared when the next Ulric diplomacy thing comes up.

[X] [COLLEGE] 5 favors for a full translation of the Cathayan books, 14 favours for an Amber Spear enchantment on our marksdwarf pistol

I want a pocket cannon. It's just such a good thing to have. Our sword hits at cannon strength so you know this is good, but in a way it's better because unlike Branulhune, Amber Spear ignores armour.
