[X] DUCK: Johann's investigation into the ratling gun has hit a wall. See if you can help.

I want to make the gun go shoot-shoot and then have the EIC manufacture them in their gun factory.

After those rolls a shrine feels sort of obligatory, doesn't it?

So I don't quite understand what the Hellfire rune does... increase damage? Did damage need to be increased? Were there things it wouldn't kill before that it'll kill now?

You know, I could really see K8P becoming the heart of Gazul's worship it the Karaz Ankor.
The really really impressive thing that's kinda understated about all this is that it is all one mountain sized Steel Rod.

The dwarves literally seem to have made a giant pole of steel as tall as a mountain.
You know how it is, if you don't use your steel budget this quarter, you won't get it next quarter.

Well. I suppose Karak Eight Peaks is undergoing some fortification.
Man, we are going to kill it when it comes time for show-and-tell.

"We turned the underway into a killing ground with firm fortifications and an abundance of cannons"
"I was able to create a unique wonder of the world that spells doom for all who pass under this mountain's shadow."
"..."
"It's supercharged by the fires of hell itself! ^.^"

I hope we get a test firing opportunity so we can try it and find out, but yeah. There was a menu option to try to enhance the tower's damage, and it looks like Kragg has that covered.

Also, security is somewhat enhanced by the blessing of Gazul, dwarf god of the dead, who objects to funny business like "people turning his power against the Dawi."

I would really, really prefer we do something to help reduce our incredibly ever-growing backlog, please and thank you. Not to mention succeeding here could allow automatic guns on gyrocopters for full "I'm No Thane's Son".

Also shoutout to all y'all who believe in introducing proper hygiene to warhammer with a bath house
Bathhouses are well known for spreading diseases actually. Warm water exposed to a lot of people does that

Karak Azul, aka the hold founded and named for its iron mines, does not fuck around.

Three thousand years of unending stockpiling tally up to an "Yes" amount of steel.
Kazador continues to be The Best
For the Vaults vs Baths: remember that Belegar is letting us use the King's Armory for our stuff.

Aka, the vault that has stood Goblins, Orcs and Skaven trying to pry it open for the last three thousand years. They very likely even had Great Shamans and the like throw Battle Magic at it, and only scuffed the paint.

The Vault isn't really a matter of security as much as convenience, and I feel Mathilde deserves luxurious hot baths after all this work.
The Aethyric Vitae is the main problem, along with any future sensitive research material.
So what you're saying is that if we invent a battle magic spell, become a Legend, and then start using magic to casually fuck with people and reality, we can use our own battle magic as a joke?
More like if you had the traits and skills to invent a battle magic you could use it as casually as Mathilde does her MAP

More importantly we may be working on a version that works....

What? Spongbob is always relevant!

An unconventional way of turning every ingot into weapons to protect Karak Azul's connection to the world, but one that will be appreciated nonetheless, I'm sure.

"Didn't sit right with me that this masterwork of yours is all about something called 'Burning Shadows' but there's no actual fire, and since you're a fan of swords, I decided there was no better fire than that of Gazul's burning sword."
Why do I see Kragg going off and discretely mentioning(gloating about) what he did here to other runesmiths?
@BoneyM, the Rune of Gazul is awesome, but what does it do? Does it just increase the strength of Burning Shadows?
If I know anything about gods and runes/names, this would mean whenever it is activated you would have the DIRECT attention, and possibly the assistance of Gazul.
You're not entirely sure but you're reasonably confident that the nega-flames of the Dwarven Death God have more punch than the standard spell, yeah.
I suspect that you could actually burn SOUL STUFF with this... maybe actually end a minor demon permanently even.
So this is just Moria, except the dwarves have weaponized the Balrog?
Nah, he is applying for immigration and looking to take a job as a gatekeeper. The mountain's shadow reminds him of home.

The funny thing is, Mathilde's MAP has a significant chance to be a bigger contribution to the Colleges than Melkoth's Miasma was.

One's a Ulgu battle magic that maybe 30 people have learned over the history of the Colleges, while the other is a hugely useful teaching aid that might enter use in every College and be available to learn for literally anyone with any magic talent.

@BoneyM Sorry if this has already been covered, but out of curiosity exactly how much steel was used in the making of the beam connecting from the tower to the bottom of the mountain?
Because that sounds like a lot of steel, more than I thought could ever be spared for a project like this
Is this thing only a thin pole or?

Said weapon being very literally connected to the world at that

FYI, the actual mass of steel is probably 'only' about par with a transnational railway line I think

Remember that time I suggested upping the confusion spell enough to be battle magic scaled?

I kind of want to do that and enforce stupidity/rampage on our enemies.
Universal Confusion already does this in a large enough radius to make a battle-sized difference as long as the enemy are in a relatively confined space or tight formation. So, not in full field battles, but in tunnel fighting. It's not true battle magic but it's a lot like those Lore of Fire spells where even though you're not getting a battlefield-incinerating level of fire you're still getting a hell of a lot of fire; throw this spell at the front line of the enemy and there will shortly thereafter be no coherent enemy because they will be running in every direction, standing there drooling, curling up into balls and crying, and literally murdering each other.

Its relatively short range and mere 10 meter diameter are weaknesses, yes, but not ones that stop it from being a "Mathilde walks up to the enemy line of battle invisibly, then there is no enemy line of battle" spell.

We should finish learning it. After that, well, I'm not sure making a battle magic scale version of it is worth the trouble when we can already pump it up into something bigger with the channelling rules if we need to, but at least it'll be on the table.

The Miasma is the most basic Ulgu Battle Magic there is though. If someone's learning Battle Magic, chances are they're learning the Miasma.

Karak Azul was cut off from the world three thousand years ago. Because Dwarves, they didn't stop mining and smelting steel just because they had nobody to export it to. King Kazador has just made every ingot of it available to King Belegar.

Maybe...? It's balanced out by the number of lives and resources saved by each singular casting of the spell.

That or he just realizes that the prosperity of his Karak is tied to that of Karak Eight Peaks. And there is no expense to be paid to insure his home is never cut off again.

I'm getting the impression he likes Belegar beyond the simple (albeit extremely, immensely, unfathomably important) fact of reconnecting his Karak to the world.

I think they're asking how thick it is; as thick as our leg, or our torso? Or, is it even wider than a single Mathilde?
