So this is just Moria, except the dwarves have weaponized the Balrog?
So we got shadow knives and Battle Magic telepotation? Do we still need to grab invisibility?
Ah Panoramia, you adorable little potato munchkin. You should not have refused sucha great deal. Don't you know that Hellfires made for the best pesticide? The downside to all of this is that when you ask Panoramia if she thinks it'd be a good idea to use the eternally-burning fires of Dwarven Hell to weed her gardens, she laughs, looks at you, realizes you're not kidding, says "no" a lot and then runs away.
Probably a lot of screaming. So, if the Burning Shadows of our tower now summon the flames of the Dwarven Underworld, what happens when an army of Chaos Dwarves gets hit?
I find that I really want to know the answer to this question.
Oh yeah. This Doom Tower working with the Rune of Gazul is pretty much an official Seal of Approval, isn't it?Maybe creating a Doom Tower with the implicit approval of the Ancestor Gods can help Belegar with his issues.
He more evidence for the Mathilde is a Runesmith Vault.Perhaps it's your imagination, but the spell seems to cooperate a little more after that.
EEEEEEE A BITCHIN CONTROL THRONE!With this much accumulated expertise, there was never any chance of failure, and the Tower quickly takes shape, from the rotating chair for the optional Grey Wizard to the retractable panels on each wall to give line of sight to the targets.
Fucking what mate.What. "What?"
"Well, not move it, move it. But just, you know. Swap two parts of the sky for a bit."
What. "What?"
Uh. Diamond. You give your stunned acquiescence, and for weeks you watch as Algard and Kragg have loud but enthusiastic disagreements over the fundamental nature of magic, and day by day the largest Rune you have ever seen is constructed out of layer after layer of ground diamond.
O.O. It's also directly under the tower, measured to within a hair, and over the course of weeks a steel beam is built from the tower to the Rune, displacing several rooms in the process and leaving a rather forbidding steel pillar glowing with a faint blue light in the center of your entrance hall.
Kekekekekeke. The downside to all of this is that when you ask Panoramia if she thinks it'd be a good idea to use the eternally-burning fires of Dwarven Hell to weed her gardens, she laughs, looks at you, realizes you're not kidding, says "no" a lot and then runs away.
I wonder if this means we can auto target vampires now.and your level of ability with each would allow you to add some very specific sets of signatures indeed.
How do you shave a beard?Your questions are derailed when you notice the neatly-bound beard you've always known has disappeared, and instead faint wisps of smoke emanates constantly from his shockingly bare chin and cheeks.
@BoneyM, for the sake of disambiguating this terrible language we share: is this bathroom in the American sense, where it also includes a toilet and maybe a sink, or a bathroom in the Commonwealth sense, i.e. a place for taking baths?)
The downside to all of this is that when you ask Panoramia if she thinks it'd be a good idea to use the eternally-burning fires of Dwarven Hell to weed her gardens, she laughs, looks at you, realizes you're not kidding, says "no" a lot and then runs away.
Ah, so it looks like we're gonna have to spend an AP on learning invisibility specifically. Still, I don't regret the gacha, having an offensive ranged magic option is good. Nothing needs to be said about teleportation that is (iirc) essentially free if used with fiendishly complex magic. To avoid a nega-trait, yes. Mathilde was rattled, and more stealth spells was the solution the thread voted on to reassure her.
Definitely read that as erotica the first time round[ ] Vault
To keep safe your wealth, your secrets, and your miscellaneous esoterica.
I'd like to express my approval of a hot water bath for Matty, especially since it raises the possibility of heating the water via Dwarf Hellfire.Well, I meant for Mathilde use only, basically a cool bath, a hot bath and a sauna, maybe even a gym...
Thank you very much. The latter. One can assume proper facilities for the other functions tucked away elsewhere.
@BoneyM would you be willing to share what (some of) the other dice results for the kragg/algard d6's were? Obviously the rest wouldn't be as ridiculous as 'auto succeed at the hardest upgrade option and also supply the power source to implement it at crit-success levels' and 'probably the same damage difference as our old greatsword vs Branulhune, and also apparently adding divine wrath to the security system', but i'm curious what sorts of other things you'd thought up
@BoneyM
Since we apparently will have four or so Powerstones for the tower, and right IN the tower, can we use them for the purpose of studying powerstones?
*snaps fingers* Wait, yeah, THAT'S it, that's one!
Thank you very much.
Anyway, I think that the pretty foyer option is going to be undercut a little by the MASSIVE STEEL BEAM EMANATING THE ENERGIES OF DWARF HELL rising up through it, so maybe we should lean into the intimidation factor and just go for Checkpoint.
I'd say Sitting Room so that some of our social actions can involve "someone coming over to hang out" -- I know that from a quest-mechanical perspective we are the ones exercising agency in picking who shows up on a given Social Turn, but from a character perspective, within the fiction of the quest it would be neat to have someone reaching out to Mathilde for a social action instead of the other way around. Having a place to invite a guest to come and spend time chatting/eating snacks facilitates that sort of scene. Then Bedroom so we have somewhere to sleep! Library since we've got some pretty sensitive books around, and then Vault for the Liber Mortis. The last one I want is the Sitting Room or the Shrine to Literally Best God.
[*] Build a Tower of Burning Death (automatic, no action cost, favours and money paid by Belegar)
[ ] Build an incredibly paranoid set of measures to ensure only you can fire it (if not taken, only standard levels of paranoia will be applied)
[ ] Investigate the possibility of increasing the damage [straightforward]
[ ] Investigate the possibility of creating a light source to use the mountain at will at night [tricky]
[ ] Investigate the possibility of creating a very bright light source to use the mountain at will [very tricky]
[ ] Investigate the possibility of somehow amplifying the Tower with Dwarven runecraft [???]
[ ] Investigate the possibility of whether it could be fired without you [tricky; if selected and successful, paranoia will be ramped up automatically]
[ ] Build a third tower, capable of deploying a Battle Magic spell [straightforward; if chosen, options will be given]
