[X] Plan Max Gun, Lucky Tower, Spidermaster
At worst, perhaps we spend the College Favour to bring in a keen Magister to act as our holiday cover with Belegar while on Elven Internship Sabbatical.I mean, the dwarves are OK with "I am going to go murder some really evil elgi and show them how awesome Kragg the Grim's runesmithing is," but our boss, who employs us and has jobs for us to do, isn't going to want us to disappear for four months (three months on the island, plus travel time) on short notice.
Our new friend the ambassador said we have between now and the end of time. It'll keep, and we want to be in the best shape we can for it.
It... already is one? Ranald is in that location. Heideck comes by regularly to take care of it even without the snake juice, presumably, given that it's both already a shrine and a place where his friend died and Ranald stuffed dice into a shark's mouth (and that's about as good a reason to make somewhere a holy place as any).
Ranald probably has people randomly duck into it when they're lost or on the run insteadAh, I was thinking along the lines of a place where travelers and other followers may come to worship Ranald in secret.
Algard can't be Matty's College Dad, that's Regimand's position. Algard is more like a College Grandad or cool uncle....our God Dad would help our Dwarf Dad and our College Dad get along. That's just the best mental image.
For what it's worth, I am sorry that I seem to have become some sort of monolithic boogeyman to people hoping to give their own plans a shot - I hope everyone here can have fun playing the game, and if my actions get in the way of that, I'd hope I can fix that issue somehow.
I do try to take input on my plans into account during the discussion period, and offer alternatives for people who disagree with one or two small contentious points.
Yeah no. Taking people's suggestions is part of how he got where he is, at this point, in this thread, he's Redshirt. But that's not his fault or something, it's a product of forums, quest and the structure of this whole thing. Near any popular thread I've ever read had a couple of folks who had that kind of name recognition from the readers who are the primary plan makers. You are absolutely fine. You took people's suggestions, which is why you're winning imho.
You wouldn't be monolithic without people liking and trusting your plan making and methodology.
Holy shit. I don't want to be an ass but... those are paragraph length run on sentences.his name was Josef and he was going to be a king
well he was going to be a king for a while, he and his "Band of Friends" were preparing to take a kingdom from a partially stupid border prince before he heard the call to help retake a dwarf hold and the silver offered would have made sure he would have kept the kingdom he would have conquered at least for a while.
but it was there that he overheard a conversation that would change his life forever, some traders speculating about the new trade route and the great wealth to had but also the danger once the river canal was finished. once he had brought them a drink and had learnt all he could about the project he knew what he had to do. if somehow the river were to be made safe and stable whoever controlled it would be filthy rich but he knew he never be able to hold more than a small portion of it and even if he could protect it from monsters any slightly stronger border prince could come and knock him off his throne.
for this to work he had to build alliances to secure his position even if that meant sharing power with others, so he set about building a coalition with the other mercenary leaders that he managed to convince to join him once the current campaign was over, while his men did the same to whoever they could find that was interest, but unfortunately the dwarfs were not interested considering your quest a sideshow at best and the EIC while interest in your goal want proof you can pull it off before they risk investing there money into your dream. well, you hope the Dwarfs of Barak Varr will be more interest in funding a kingdom that sole purpose is to protect their new trade route.
they had even regular meetings to decide what form of government there yet to be founded kingdoms will have as well what taxes their hypothetical civilians will pay and how they will restructure their army. No one wanted to be screwed over or the coalition to disintegrate at the first crisis plus there were plenty among the Undumgi that gave them help in forming the foundation to what could become a great kingdom.
as most of the powerful people that will lead the colation are mercenary leaders or a few merchants that see an opportunity none wanted to be anything but in charge and a disdain for useless nobles so instead of having a king the new kingdom, we will have a great council of the rich and powerful that decide the laws and taxes of the land, it will grow over time as ether new border prince join or new people rise to influence in the community and shrink as those on the council fail to keep themselves relevant .
also, it was decided since the extremely vulnerable position and everyone will try and take a piece from us, the new kingdom needed to be devoted to war and expansion up the river and only when they have dominated the river will be able to expand outwards. as such you need to transform your band of misfits into a professional army luckily a very experienced and successful dog of war group lead by Alfio and his subordinate Vidiano who will train your soldiers as well as lead your forces in times of war, who just so happened to both be the first who agreed to help build your vision as well as help you become the first among equals.
josef opens the door as the rest of the council files out, he is both tied and happy as he receives a grin from Alfio as in this meeting it was decided that most of the taxes and tolls will be ether expanding the kingdom by building a new fortress town a few miles upriver in unclaimed territory or expanding existing town to make them more attractive to passing merchants making the inroad he was building with the EIC bear fruit, strengthing his position and the rest of the money going to pay the soldiers making them some of the best paid and most important people in the nation to be, making everyone at the council happy as they all fighting men that will be protecting the countryside but the other person it will benefit most in time is Alfio as he being in charge of training and leading them in war giving him a lot of soft power on the council and support among the troops.
as Josef and Alfio leave the rented room and asking the tavern owner to get them a beer and get into a discussion about the possible name of the new country before settling on the Riverlands they never notice a flickering shadow or the door quietly open and close again, leaving them to there drinking.
Are we ever gonna do anything with these? They're in our inventory.
We are hoping to use them in an enchantment project. We just need to be better at enchantment first before we use them. Like a lot better. Are we ever gonna do anything with these? They're in our inventory.
People were talking about using them as a focus for when we eventually try to enchant our Masteried Aethyric Armor into clothes. Trying to get a Mastery version of a spell into an enchantment is tricky, so rare components that are thematically appropriate might help. Are we ever gonna do anything with these? Maybe we cam do something with them when the Spider silk becomes available. Or maybe for the staff? Or maybe it would just be another shiny bauble in our Hoard. Are we ever gonna do anything with these? They're in our inventory.
How are the scales of a dhar-mutated dragon evolved to live in the sea thematically appropriate to ulgu?People were talking about using them as a focus for when we eventually try to enchant our Masteried Aethyric Armor into clothes. I believe dragon materials are receptive to magic in general and can be altered to lean towards Ulgu with a bit of effortHow are the scales of a dhar-mutated dragon evolved to live in the sea thematically appropriate to ulgu?
For the sea is dark and full of terrors. How are the scales of a dhar-mutated dragon evolved to live in the sea thematically appropriate to ulgu?
Is it a touch spell? Using a touch spell on eshin warpstone poison might not be the best idea.Johann uses his instant-win spell on the warp star, he should be better at dealing with warpstone substances too.
That's "notice and reach once" vs. "notice reach out weekly".
