Aren't the Elves at least aware of the true nature of the Lizardmen? If it's the case it's strange that Teclis never told any of his students about it, given the link between the OO and the source of all magic.

Why would he? Would the imperial wizards be any better at using magic if they knew the polar gates were artificial.

'There is a big hole in the world at the North Pole and magic comes out of it' works well for all practical purposes. He would not even have to mention that it also happens in the south because no Imperial magister is ever likely to make it to the lands south of the equator

Do the intelligentsia of the Empire knows about the Old Ones and the story behind the 2 portals to the Warp?

A few know that mentions of them show up in sufficiently old writings, but teasing meaning out of them is extremely difficult and the Elves aren't exactly helpful.

Human scholar: "According to Loremaster Finreir's Book of Days, these 'Old Ones' who 'came from beyond the heavens' shaped the world and made the Elves, right?"
Elven scholar: "Right."
Human scholar: "And according to Loremaster Beldryal's The Flame Eternal, Asuryan made the world and Isha created the Elves, right?"
Elven scholar: "Right."
Human scholar: "So the Old Ones are your Gods?"
Elven scholar: "No."
Human scholar: "But... okay, which writing is incorrect?"
Elven scholar: "Neither."

This is the kind of stuff Max is going to face on his library tour, isn't it?

"My report, Lady Magister. All the information is true, none of the information is true, and some of it is true. At the same time."
"What?"

Mathilde doesn't know who Slann are. I take that as enough of an indication. The elves likely consider them to be realm of fairy tales. They know they exist but as they currently are, they don't really fit the bill as their ancient teachers.

EDIT: Lol proven wrong by QM :V

No, they do not know about the Old Ones, in tome of corruption an patient in an insane asylum was talking about the Silver Ships of the Old Ones who were 'as gods' and obviously they were taken as ravings and not insight. The elves and dwarfs might know.

Realms of Sorcery has a history of the world as told, IIRC, by Teclis to the Colleges of Magic. I think he told them about the Old Ones and the world's prehistory as known to the elves.

He also told them that the elven gods created the elves and the world, and told them that the elves created the elven gods from their condensed mythology after the Polar Gates fell, so people's mileage may vary…

It makes sense in a way when you consider that the elves may consider their gods and themselves to be the part of the same thing. The elves' believe their gods are aspects of the elven psyche, so each elf's soul/mind and their understanding of the world is made up from their gods, and their gods are made from them, both continuously creating each other.

Human Scholar: I see! I finally understand! Thank you!

Elven scholar: As expected after my pristine and clear tutelage given in 4 words, and you are welcome of course. For the record, what precisely have you understood?

Human Scholar: A thought experiment proposed by Scholars Plänk and Shroder. Their Uncertainty Principle states that as the ambiguity of a statement increases, by necessity the information contained decreases, and therefore its truth value approaches both absolutely true and absolutely false. At an infinite extreme, resulting in a statement that is simultaneously true and false, because no information is communicated. It's all very Quantum you know, like arrows never reaching turtles! With this we could perhaps finally prove that too! I must hurry away to write an academic paper about this! To think the Elves held the secret of infinite lack of knowledge all along!

Elven Scholar (now alone): I feel I have been insulted somehow.

Bold of you to assume the human would survive an elf scholar who thinks he has been insulted. :V

Dramatis Personae, Extended
Don't ask how I did this. I went into a fugue and when I woke up I was done. Take your time reading this, it's 12k words. I'm tired so I'll fix any mistakes later. Anyway, take this, a list of DL characters (that aren't included in the College Rolodex).

Characters of Divided Loyalties:
Abelhelm van Hal: The Hunter Count of Stirland. Died during the Battle of Drakenhof around the end of 2476 IC to skeletons. Beloved and honored by the people for reclaiming the Haunted Hills, they named it the Hunter's Hills after him. Atypical Witch Hunter from the same bloodline that spawned the great necromancer Van Hal, he was an absolute combat monster and a very book learned individual. Gave the Liber Mortis to Mathilde. Roswita succeeded him as EC.

Anton Kiesinger II: Former Diplomat to Abelhelm and the Baron of Blutdorf for all intents and purposes as his father is settling down to retire. Gregarious, honest, kind and very likable, he's so nonthreatening that he achieves diplomatic miracles on the regular. Solved the Flensburg problem, hired Asarnil, negotiated outrageous trade deals, and he's currently sitting on both a Crossbow and Gun factory in his province, dominating Stirland's ranged weapon construction. Considers Mathilde his little sister. His aunt was a Jade Wizard who died in service. Recently adopted Anton III as his heir and decided marriage was not for him, even if he enjoys Reinhild's company.

Anton Kiesinger III: Anton II's first cousin twice removed and currently his adopted son. 14 year old former ensign in the First Imperial Navy in Altdorf. Always puts his best effort at everything and a generally serious and diligent person. It was his idea to name himself Anton.

Anton Kiesinger I: Anton's father and the former Baron of Blutdorf, boisterous, jolly and energetic old man who is dedicating his twilight years to terrorizing the animals of the Nattern Forest. Currently suffering from forgetfulness and possible dementia in his older age.

Wilhelmina Hochschild: Governor of the EIC and Abelhelms former steward. Ambitious, dedicated and laser focused women who desires above all else to change the landscape and improve Stirland's lot and the Empire as a whole, and can be somewhat morally dubious as a result. Getting into her sixties and worried about inheritance as her sons are incompetent and her grandchild was just admitted to the Grey College.

Kasmir Heinz: The Piety Advisor of Elector Count Abelhelm Van Hal and later Elector Countess Roswita Van Hal, Kasmir is a Sigmarite Warrior Priest instituted as Chaplain as a bargaining chip by the Grand Theogonist, and a former zealot. He did not necessarily hate the other faiths, but he was completely ignorant about their practices and only ever focused on Sigmarites, which led to some serious backlash when that very flaw resulted in infiltrators and an Army that lacked Morrite, Shallyan and Ulrican priests because he chose not to recruit them. After receiving one hell of a wake up call, Kasmir resolved himself to do better and began paying attention to other priests, but this change of heart was only further advanced by the Grand Theogonist's failure to supply support to the Sylvanian campaign and his own failure to save Abelhelm from the clutches of death. Kasmir left his post in Wurtbad and wandered Sylvania, rebuilding the homes of those who lose their houses in the Fire District of Drakenhof, healing the wounded and fighting the undead of the land. This reinforced his battered faith when he found that his divine energies could still be harnessed, and he later found himself determined to restore the faiths of the Sylvanians who had lost all hope in the Empire's gods, so they wouldn't fall to Vampires again. He was convinced to become Roswita's Chaplain by Mathilde, and his relationship with Mathilde is somewhat complicated to say the least.

Kasmir's goal is to interface with the old faiths of Sylvania instead of enforcing his own on people who have no reason to accept it. As such, he has come across the mystery of the bogs, swamps and fens that the Fennones, the previous inhabitants of Sylvania, worshipped. Despite accuracies in regards to the names, Hel Fenn, Grim Moor and Dark Moor are named as such, and Manhavok, a god of floods, is still widely worshipped in Stirland in areas that don't need to appease him. Kasmir seems to have succeeded in reviving the old faiths, with the installation of the Council of Manhorak as heads of the Barony of Mikalsdorf. This council consists of Manhorak and his sons: Darmorak, Grimorak, Bylorak and Fennorak.

Abbot Ionel: Abbot Ionel is the High Priest of Darmorak, and thanks to Kasmir's efforts in establishing the Council of Manhorak, the Council has developed itself in monastic lines. As such, Ionel is the Abbot of Dark Moor. He is the representative of the Manhorak Council for the Drakenhof expedition. Of all of the Swamp Gods and locations of Sylvania, Mathilde knows the least of Dark Moor, other than it being the source of the headwaters of the River Templa connecting to the River Stir and being very close to Zhufbar and Drakenhof. "Abbot Ionel himself is a beardless man in his forties with kind eyes, long brown hair and a limp, who walks with the aid of a walking stick topped with an axe head and wears a long, curved dagger on his waist, both of which are made of a dull grey metal you'd guess to be bog iron. He's here as a demonstration of both authority and responsibility, and speaks of Vampires in general and Von Carsteins in particular with a quiet and tightly-controlled loathing."

Ionel seems to be quite knowledgable on the subject of Vampire dissection, as demonstrated by his butchering of a Varghulf. He has also stated that being close to the Drak gave him some measure of power, implying that perhaps the source of his power (Darmorak in Dark Moor) is perhaps connected to the Drak, likely through the headwaters, although he didn't elaborate. Ionel has some sort of Miracle that allowed him to transform the blood stored in Druthor (Strigoi)'s stomach into swamp water, and he possessed some odd glowing mossy substance that he rubbed on his wounds that he sustained. He refused healing from Mathilde, likely under the reason that the scars would prove his legitimacy as Darmorak's High Priest and provide influence to Manhorak's least known Son.

Detlef Shultz: Burgher and member of Talabeclands Masons and Architects guild. Abelhelm and later Roswita's "Learning" Advisor, dedicated to construction and fortifications, roads and buildings. He was inserted into the Stirland Council as part of a concession by Talabecland, and as such is dedicated to improve Talabecland's lot.

Professor De Verezzo: Professor Lucrezio de Verezzo was a head scholar of military history from the University of Altdorf, until proof of embezzlement on a massive scale from the University was found. He had been failing half his students, retroactively removing them from the University's ledgers, then pocketing the money that had been paid to the University for their education. But the entire issue was hushed up, and he had been placed firmly under the thumb of the Emperor's spymaster and sent to Stirland. Became Marshal and lied about recruitment numbers to embezzle Stirland's military fund and was summarily executed by Abelhelm as a result.

Gustav von Jungfreud: Proud noble Pistolier and Champion Outrider who doesn't take people questioning his ability very well. Stirland's Marshal under Abelhelm and later Roswita after Professor De Verezzo's execution. Excellent marksman and teacher, very interested in cavalry (especially light cavalry) and firearms, but kind of sucks at most forms of military leadership not related to his specialties. Taught Mathilde how to wield pistols.

Markus von Pfaffbach: Former Champion of Stirland's Greatswords. Died at the Battle of Drakenhof on a suicide charge alongside his Greatswords after failing to save Abelhelm. Trained Mathilde in Greatswording and his sword was one of the three in the EIC logo (the other two being Abelhelm and Mathilde).

Rolf: Son of the Headsman of Mathilde's little village that she owns (Weberanwesen). Steward of her estate who went all the way to Tarshof to learn numberin', but didn't pick up lettering to go with it so he makes pictorial keys on his ledgers. Reinvests the tax money into further improvements of the village, which for now is all about that Flint mine and graze lands. He has grown older and more confident since Mathilde's last visit, and now has a flock of his own and several children, one of whom is named Mathilde. Rolf has been investing in opportunities, primarily in acquiring Estalian Mayor sheep that have been transported from Estalia to Tilea to Averland, and attempting to breed them into the local population to improve the wool quality and intelligence of the local sheep. He is also interested in acquiring East Westerlander Sheep to improve local milk quality through crossbreeding. He has become the defacto authority of the village.

Top Walter: Denizen of Mathilde's fief. Lost an eye to a hawk that he later hunted down and sold its feathers. Satisfied with the result.

Wagners: Family in Mathilde's fief. Almost lost their youngest because they kept drinking from a stream they shouldn't have drunk from. They eventually saw sense and went a little further upstream.

Senns and Ankenbauers: Two families in Mathilde's fiefs that constantly feud with each other. They don't escalate beyond shouting and insulting each other's cheeses.

Roswita van Hal: Abelhelm Van Hal's eldest daughter, only a few years younger than Mathilde. Became Elector Countess after Abelhelm, and seemed to have been raised in a very Sigmarite upbringing related to the Witch Hunters, as her reign has them heavily involved in affairs. Graduated from the University of Altdorf through correspondence and made her thesis on Economic Warfare against Vampires, and put those theories to the test against the Vampires of Sylvania, which she has been determined to defeat. Her rule has mostly consisted of ignoring Stirland unless it's related to Sylvania, and focusing her efforts on purging the land of Vampires. Despite being Magic phobic, she has shown a real knack for handling Battle Wizards, and adapted Barak Varr marine techniques to her combat style. Roswita has finally succeeded in her goal of purging Sylvania.

Lucas von Salkalten: Ostlander Sigmarite Witch Hunter from Salkalten, paranoid and tight as a coiled spring. Roswita's Intrigue advisor, he seems as single minded as her, focused on Sylvania and allowing Julia under his control to spend some of her time to bolster her own family. Lost his arm and got a few scars since becoming advisor, and holds a strong enough connection to Sigmar to indicate to Mathilde that he can channel His Divine favor.

Rodebrecht Brennen: Roswita's Steward/economic advisor. An Exciseman who farmed out Western Stirland's taxing rights to the EIC (with strict limits and limitations) for a period of time to fund Roswita's efforts, and applied her theories to initiate economic warfare against the Vampires.

'Brother Slug': Roswita's former Chaplain, planted by the Grand Theogonist. Replaced by Kasmir through Mathilde's efforts. Mathilde holds a very low opinion of him, believing him to be dim through her magesight and seeing that he lacks Divine Magic. Kasmir stated that he would be a fine advisor in a province where politics mattered more than piety, but would be bad otherwise. Could translate Khazalid. Name never found out.

Johan: Illiterate carter with his horse Delilah. Part of the Carters and Coachmen Guild and assigned to cart out the tax ledgers and records of Stirland to an Asoborn burial mound.

Mihaela and Andrei: Drakenhof peasants tasked to infiltrate Eagle Castle and send information back to Drakenhof, and their families would be spared "all taxes". Under the control of the "Von Carsteins". Caught by Mathilde. Mihaela told Mathilde all the information she had in exchange for her execution to "prove" that she wouldn't give away info, so her family could be spared.

Captain Guion 'Lefty' Ragnier: A former Brettonnian peasant with a hook in place of his left hand and an eyepatch covering whatever happened to his left eye. Very suspicious and hostile of Mathilde, resigned immediately after she restructured the Watch.

Jack Albright: Originally a Marienburger career thief who caught too much heat and had to leave for the Empire. Very good at what he does, he is charismatic, skilled and possesses strong morals. Convinced by Mathilde to act as Captain of the Stirland Watch under her command but left after command switched hands to Lucas.

Julia Antoinette Massif: Third child of the Grand Mayor of Flensburg and managed Mathilde's Spy network in Stirland under Mathilde and now under Lucas. Ambitious and desires to see Stirland as a nexus of trade in the Old World. While Lucas is busy with Sylvania, she's using her network to benefit herself and her family on the side.

Wilhelm von Tarshof: Spymaster of Stirland before Mathilde, one of the masterminds behind the Stirland League that dominated the Old Dwarf Road. Corrupt trader who would assassinate rivals if needed, he leeched off the resources of his position and left after the death of the Haupt Anderssens. Still at large, as he left his estates in Stirland before the shut down of the Stirland League and Mathilde did not pursue him.

Alberich Haupt-Anderssen: The last of the Haupt-Anderssens, the Elector Count before Abelhelm. He got so desperate that he performed some sort of ritual involving summoning daemons that did not go so well for him, but resulted in the East Wing of Eagle Castle being closed off so the energies would settle down over the years. It turns out that the ritual was not to summon Daemons, but to teleport himself into the Aethyr and dedicate himself to the Chaos Gods, and he succeeded. Thanks to the testimonial of an accomplice with Magesight who witnessed the ritual, his right arm was mutated to become oversized, one of his eyes became pure white and he developed the Slaaneshi Gift of Musk giving him an alluring scent, indicating that Alberich dedicated himself to Slaanesh.

Even back during his reign before he became a Magus he was self obsessed, proud and with a short temper and an utter hatred of being disregarded, allowing him to easily slot into the Vainglory aspect of Slaanesh's Six Deadly Seductions. He cared less for his family and more about himself, and after teleporting into the Aethyr, he returned 18 years later to take "revenge" on the Unfahigers who he might have believed were involved in his family's murders, but in actuality he was performing a twisted Ritual of Dedication to cut his ties to the mortal realm and dedicate himself to the Chaos Gods. The ritual involved performing over the top recreations of his family's deaths on eight members of the Unfahigers, now the Krieglitz, following a pattern that followed the time between each of his family members' deaths, except in months instead of years. Doing so would have empowered him greatly. Mathilde discovered his attempt, tracked him down and killed him to prevent the Empress, a supposed Haupt-Anderssen, from being brought under scrutiny and to steal credit away from Alric, who is attempting to regain his position as Supreme Patriarch of the Light Order. Meta Spoilers: Boney heavily implied that he was one of the Everchosen candidates, and the level of support from his patron clearly indicates this

Petr von Stolpe: Former Count of Leicheberg. He was in league with the Stirland League, and believed his status as a noble from an old bloodline meant he would be immune to consequences. Executed.

Maksim von Stolpe: Petr's younger brother and the current Count of Leicheberg. Very eager to please and in fact quite grateful to gain his current position. Satisfied with Leicheberg's expansion as a result of Fort Redemption and the Leicheberg-Langwald road boosting trade.

Wolf: Seemingly younger than Heideck but still an older man, a taller and slimmer Nordlander. Irreverant and lighthearted, willing to make bawdy jokes and lighten the mood at his partner's expense. Priest of Ranald and Heideck's partner in crime, used to work with him in the Wurtbad Thieves' Guild. Seemed to be able to channel Ranald's divine energies during the purificaiton of the idol of Stormfels. Unfortunately, the upper half of his body was obliterated, resulting in his death. The bright side is that "most people end up in debt to Ranald, but few end up with Ranald in debt to them", so he's probably having a good time in Ranald Heaven. Wolf the familiar is named after him, and a Wolf shrine in honor to his deeds was built on Mathilde's Estate.

Heideck: Short and stocky Averlander, an older man who serves as a Priest of Ranald and Wolf's partner in crime. Current head of the Wurtbad Thieves' Guild, more of a social club and church group than a complex organisation. His service to Ranald is to "pay back" all the support he got in his endeavours, and both he and Wolf seemed able to channel the energies of Ranald to banish an Idol of Stormfels' influence. The more serious foil to the butt of the joke in your standard slapstick comedy duo, but lost his partner several years ago so really a coin with one side.

Innkeeper: A harried innkeeper in Wurtbad who offered Mathilde an outbuilding to use as a residence, not knowing it held the Sunken Palace, as long as the Watch would ignore the Still she kept. Mathilde befriended her and she was delighted to offer her support and information as long as Mathilde saved her from liquor excises and supported her against people wanting protection money.

Master Engineer Otto of Nuln: One of the candidates offered by the Imperial Spymaster as an apology for De Verezzo. Otto endangered his chances at tenure to volunteer to be Stirland's Marshal. Mad genius, minitarized the bird bomb, made a greatgreatcanon, and tried to replicate the Dwarf Gyrocopter and ended up with a balista that shoots giant spinning blades.

Berthold: Sir Berthold of the Order of the Hammer of Sigmar. Not much information on him specifically, but the group he's associated with forces people to recite Sigmar strictures and beats them up if they're wrong. If they worship other gods, they beat them up harder. One of the Marshal candidates that was not chosen.

Jacques Seingalt: Doctor, Duelist and leader of men. Former Guard Captain of Steinbachthal and was involved in an affair with the Count's Eldest daughter, ousted from his position thanks to gossip from Julia. Excellent horseman. The candidate for Captain of the Stirland Watch that was not chosen.

Codrin Petrescu: Name means "In the forest, Son of my privates". True name unknown, Codrin is a Sylvanian Morrite who is part of the Tilean Order known as the Fellowship of the Shroud, Morrite Templars that seek to eradicate the undead by any means necessary, using a mixture of science, alchemy and occultism to achieve their goals. Considered a radical sect, they are heavily mistrusted by other Morrites due to the Fellowship's encouragement of cremation, which is blasphemy to the Morrites who prefer Gardens in all but the most deperate of circumstances. Gained the respect of his fellow Sylvanians and Stirlanders and acted as their leader during the Karak Eight Peaks Expedition, and simply disappeared afterwards. Apparently he was working to eliminate the Vampire bloodlines of Sylvania and needed a place to lay low for a while. Codrin being a divine caster is speculation, for Mathilde only mentioned that he had "a faint hint of Morr about him", but it is likely that he has some degree of ability in that sense.

Countess Gabriella Von Nachtafen/Bundebad: Lahmian Vampire who was part of the Lahmian conspiracy that controlled much of Sylvania. She was usurped by 'Heidi' who disguised herself as a servant and stole her position, pretending to be her for 13 years. She was revived right before the Witch Hunters came knocking down her doors after being tipped off.

Dame Sofia Hoffman: Altdorf noble involved in the Lahmian conspiracy. Didn't know what she was getting into at first. Revealed all the information she knew to Mathilde before Mathilde killed her.

Countess Von Carstein: Claims that she is the inheritor of the Von Carstein legacy and ruled from Castle Drakenhof. Imposed "taxes" on the citizenry by holding their families hostage and forcing them to serve as spies with a Dhar Matrix inside them that would turn them into vicious undead in an instant if they were exposed or not checked in on for a time. Presumably killed by cannon during the Siege of Castle Drakenhof.

Singing King: Strigoi Ghoul King who inhabited a valley in the central Haunted Hills. Muscled and powerful vampire who led an army of Ghouls and rode a Fell Bat the size of a dragon. Named for his long wordless cries that would direct his troops. Defeated in the fortress of Fang Island in the Ghoul Woods by a combination of Divine Light by Kasmir and Burning Shadows by Mathilde, granting her the title of Sangerkritisch. His skull remains on Mathilde's shelf.

Alkharad: Ancient Necharch Vampire wearing the clothes and trappings of Altdorf Nobility that was fashionable during the Age of Three Emperors. Master Necromancer who had control over Teufelheim next to the Tangled Woods in Sylvania. Performed a number of experiments and research, and after Countess von Carstein's death built a "College of Necromancy" and began recruiting students to teach the art to. Attempted to assassinate Roswita ever since she began interfering with his experiments, and was killed by Mathilde in close combat. His skull lines her shelf.

Ioana: Lahmian Vampire in control over the County of Waldenhof. More powerful than Mihnea and in an off again on again relationship with him. Currently being sieged by Roswita's forces with her trade revenue cut. Stronger forces as a result of cannibalising Mihnea's forces. Never got the handle on animal summoning, so she summons them before a fight instead of during, hoping to scare people away instead of getting into confrontations. According to Gustav, either Mihnea or Ioana has fled to the swamp and is being pursued by half of Sylvania's Battle Wizards. Considering the other is decorating Roswita's mantlepiece, it's likely the more competent one is the one who's done that.

Mihnea: Lahmian Vampire in control over the Barony of Mikalsdorf. Lacks magical ability and tried to supplement it with shoddy magical artifacts that Mathilde destroyed. In a more precarious position than Ioana, but his stronghold is protected by defensible wetlands so Roswita resorted to performing a siege. Trade revenue cut by Roswita. According to Gustav Jungfreud, one of either Ioana or Mihnea is decorating Roswita's mantlepiece, and Mihnea is the more likely individual.

Druthor: A Strigoi Ghoul King who took up the ruins of Castle Drakenhof as his lair alongside his not-fully-grown Terrorgheist who he likely fed some blood to in order to create a pact. He possessed a nest that contained a bunch of Ghouls and seemed to share it with an unnamed Varghulf. Druthor's lair was infiltrated while he was out on a hunt and his Ghouls were scattered, his Varghulf companion slain and butchered, and then ambushed as he was coming back by Mathilde's mining expedition. His Terrorgheist died and his skull was claimed. He possessed a weakness to Ithilmar, relatively rare.

Reinhild Gerber: Imperial Gunnery School of Nuln graduate. Redhead with cropped hair, a missing ear and a patent on a repeating rifle possibly inspired by Dwarven revolvers. One of Anton's possible suitors, she was perfectly fine being his friend and engineering partner, providing the basis for the Gerber-Kiesinger Rifle that was later modified by Anton's knowledge from Gotri and advice from a Zhufbar Grandmaster Engineer. Close friends with Anton, to a physical degree, although neither desire to marry. Whether their relationship is romantic or platonic with benefits is unknown.

Stefanie Krebs: Baron of Marburg's Niece. One of Anton's possible suitors that he rejected.

Cordula von Halstedt: Count of Halstedt's daughter. One of Anton's prospective suitors that he rejected. Was maneuvered by Anton into signing an incredibly favorable trade contract that allowed free passage for EIC wagons through the Moot road that led to her being recalled to her father's side.

Countess Petra Harden of Wolfsbach: Former "Countess of Flensburg" who had frequent disagreements with the Mayor of Flensburg due to her desire to have the city as her County's capital. Mollified when she was offered Wolfsbach by Anton, she formed the Western Stirland Riverine Company with Artur von Treitschke by marrying her daughter to Artur's third son. This company was joined with the EIC after Roswita sold her share of the company to Franzen and Wolfsbach, giving the EIC total dominance over South-North trade in Western Stirland.

Lord Mayor Emil von Flensburg: Julia's father. Had disagreements with Countess Harden over Flensburg.

Count Artur von Treitschke of Franzen: Count of Franze, had plans of competing with the Stirland League that were interrupted with a knife in the back of his trade partner the Baron of Purgg, and only after the Stirland League was taken down did he rethink his operations. Formed the Western Stirland Riverine Company with Countess Harden and later joined with the EIC.

Count Erich von Halstedt: Count of the Central Stirland region controlling the Moot Road.

Count Tristan Haupt of Steinbachthal

Baron Immanuel Krebs of Marburg

Count Robert Toppenheimer of Hornau

Countess Alexandra von Munsterburg of Sigmaringen

Grand Mayor Victor van Grissenwald of Schramleben

Nyklaus: A minor noble rumored to hold interest in taking up Roswita's offer to serve as Markgraf of Sylvania. Name holds some resemblance to Count Noctilus' old name, but that could be a coincidence. Canonical timeline note: Nyklaus becomes Noctilus after Karl Franz becomes Emperor. DL Note: Horstmann is evil in canon, so don't take it for granted that Nyklaus is the same man.

Ermanrich:One of Anton's guards.

Wilbert: One of Anton's servants.
King Belegar Ironhammer: King of Karak Eight Peaks and head of the successful expedition and campaign to reclaim it. Descendant of King Lunn from Clan Angrund, his grandfather almost became High King. Always dreamed of retaking his hold, but never considered the consequences, and the weight of duty lies heavy on him after seeing the costs. Heavily pragmatic man who has been greatly changed through Mathilde's acquaintance, becoming one of her closest friends and confidants. A powerful warrior wielding runic equipment including a relic of the Golden Age in the form of his crown, with odd powers giving him super strength. Determined to see his hold restored to its former glory and allow the Karaz Ankor to thrive rather than die. Currently being pushed to consider the possibility of marriage. Belegar is focusing on the future at the moment. Belegar has very complicated feelings towards his High King, largely in the form of animosity.

Dromgar Angrund?: Never mentioned in story. Vague hint he might be out there and growing up. Younger brother of Belegar Ironhammer in canon. Status unknown.

Gotri Stoneheart: Heir to Zhufbar, Sky-thane and Prince Gotri is a Radical Master Engineer and pilot specialised in aircraft. He holds values and opinions that fly in the face of tradition and could sometimes be considered unbelievable by the standards of many dwarfs, including deciding to create devices that would break very quickly by dwarf standards if long lasting equipment is not needed. He is Karak Eight Peak's External Martial advisor, focused on engineering and the Air Corps.

Dreng: Former Ranger turned Hammer turned Marshal of Karak Eight Peaks, used to be clanless but now of Clan Huzkul. Old and experienced in a variety of ways to hunt down and kill the enemies of the Dwarves, and might be a bit too hyper focused as shown with him deciding to burn down the mushrooms in the elevator shaft without considering the consequences.

Gunnars: Karak Eight Peak's High Priest and a Priest of Gazul. Also a member of the anti-necromancy Order of Guardians, one of the only Dwarves to use Greatswords in emulation of Gazul. Dedicates himself to both Gazul of the Flame and Gazul of the Underearth, meaning that he sacrificed his past and present. Gunnars the person does not exist, but Gunnars the priest does. Very prone to discussing history, traditions, culture and information with Mathilde due to seeing her as having a similar role to him, and he seems to hold a great deal of respect for her. Helped Mathilde hone her Greatsword techniques.

Edda Grimbow: Member of the Karak Izor royal Grimbow clan and one of K8P's settlers and councillors, acting as Belegar's steward. She is ambitious and had her eyes set on becoming a queen, perhaps by marrying Belegar as her family intended, but she fell in love with and got involved in a relationship with Prince Kazrik, her fellow councillor. Focused on traditional Dwarven trade, she has an eye for machines and organisation but an inability to understand humans, leading to a deficiency when dealing with human production and trade. Scarred and Blooded as a result of leading Karak Izor's forces during the Battle for the Caldera. Edda has stepped down from her position as Steward of K8P as a result of her being with child, causing hurried nupital negotiations between her family and Kazrik's. Her family in K8P are overjoyed, her family in Karak Izor not so much. She is currently married to Kazrik.

Kazrik: Prince of Karak Azul and King Kazador's son, he is Karak Eight Peaks diplomat and Princess Edda's paramour. Very friendly, personable and curious individual with an affinity for humans, he blossomed in his role as a diplomat despite his inexperience to grant the nascent Karak success after success. Embarrassed and mortified by his father's antics. Despite it being unusual, he practices Runesmithing in his spare time under Thorek Ironbrow. Not heresy as he is descended from Thungni, but unusual as he is royalty. He is currently married to Edda after a surprise pregnancy caused hurried nupital negotiations.

Okri Drakkisson: A promising young Engineer named Okri Drakkisson of Clan Bronzebeard - Karak Norn's offshoot of Karak Drazh's Stonebeards, cousins to the Karak Eight Peaks Stonebeards. Okri is to replace Mathilde as the "Loremaster" of the hold, focusing on developing the future by creating a more generalised engineering expertise in the hold rather than just the Gyrocopter focus of Karak Eight Peaks' Stonebeards. Okri is a younger, less fabled version of the "Cousin Okri" that Bardin Goreksson from Vermintide keeps mentioning. He wears a multi-lensed loop and he seems to have many ideas of all kinds of inventions and improvements to existing designs. This includes creating workable variants of Adela's prototypes without needing a Bright Wizard, more powerful flamethrowers, ratling guns that don't need warpstone to operate, and a number of portable weapons, which seems to be his specialty and interest. He seems dedicated on creating an elite drop team with deadly weapons.

Drakki Dagsson: Okri's father, Bardin Goreksson's uncle and Gorek Dagsson's brother. Famous engineer said to be a genius with steam and hydraulics. Belegar considers him to be the real catch if he could convince him to come to Eight Peaks.

Kragg the Grim: 1600-1700 year old Runelord of Karaz A Karak, but he really just does whatever he wants. Oldest and arguably the most curmudgeonly Dwarf in all the Karaz Ankor, he is the most skilled and knowledgeable Runelord of the current era and refuses to die because of his sheer disapproval. He refuses to teach anyone his knowledge for he believes no one is worthy of it, and he is determined to restore the Karaz Ankor's knowledge and power even if he doesn't succeed at it. Made Mathilde's Belt and Sword and built a very rough grudging respect for her.

Wolf the Familiar: Mathilde's familiar, who gives her Magic Power and shares mental faculties with her. A Large wolf with a collar of Move who can speak the language of magic. A Very Good Boy.

Franseco Caravello: Viceroy of Karag Nar and leader of the Undumgi, Franseco is a Tilean trader from Luccini turned mercenary and caravan guard after an unfortunate incident resulted in him losing his bounty from the far east. He dedicated himself to protecting caravans until the K8P expedition, where he felt his purpose. He would carve himself into the annals of history, either through the prosperity of Karag Nar or through the glory of the Undumgi. Wields the Torc of Fire gifted by Mathilde and he is firmly within the EIC's pocket. In charge of human trade and was placed in charge of silk weaving and loom production for the We Silk. Recently received a wheelbarrow full of books on spider silk from Eonir libraries and is soon to be the Steward of Karak Eight Peaks, focused on trade with the east.

Ruprecht Wulfhart: Grandmaster of the Winter Wolves of Ulrikadrin, formerly of Middenheim. The Winter Wolves were a sub sect of the White Wolves that rode giant Winter Wolves (although a good portion of them were dismounted knights). They separated from the main cult and left the Empire after they were tasked to exterminate a number of Nordland villages encroaching on Eonir territory to reinforce the alliance between the Cult of Ulric and the Eonir. Wulfhart and his order refused, leading the refugees from both Nordland and disaffected religious exiles from Middenland to the K8P Expedition, where they carved out a home for themselves in the Valley settlement of Ulrikadrin. He is quite political savvy for a knight, wary and with a strong sense of responsibility and morality. His principles were strong enough to deny his orders and do what he considered to be the right choice. Wields one of the Eight Gromril Swords of K8P.

Ruprecht Wulfhart the Younger: Ruprecht Wulfhart's son, and an example of his father not necessarily heeding the rules of celibacy enforced on the Cult of Ulric. Ambitious and dissatisfied with a peaceful agrarian life, he desires to carve his own path instead of following his father's shadow. Has a tendency to micromanage, and might be involved in Barak Varr's plans for Mad Dog Pass. Joined the Karag Dum Expedition.

Grandmaster Sigwald Kriegersson: Grandmaster of the Knights of Taal's Fury, Demigryph riding Knightly Order dedicated to Taal who joined the K8P Expedition and later the Karag Dum Expedition. Eager to defeat Taal's enemies and friends with Esbern and Seija, as they are de facto Knights of his order. Wields one of the Eight Gromril Swords of K8P.

Soizic: Bretonnian Questing Knight looking for the Grail but willing to bend the rules and play with the wording of the Vow to achieve it. Lacks a mount and kicked out from her homeland due to an inflexible Knight of the Realm believing her to not belong. Seems to be have either a romantic or physical relationship with Hubert. Soizic is a skilled Bretonnian warrior with ideals of chivalry and seems to be skilled at oratory. She acts as the Undumgi's General, training them to be adequate soldiers and guards and wielding one of the Eight Gromril Swords of K8P.

Oswald Oswaldson: Chief Bombardier of the Undumgi and Chancellor of the Karag Nar Gunnery School, a branch of the Imperial Gunnery School of Nuln. Comes from a long and prestigious family bloodline from Nuln (originally the Aswaldssons from Norsca who broke from Tzeentch and arrived in the Empire and then split into three separate families each siding with one of the Three Emperors). His father rode a Steam Tank, and he's quite proud of his knowledge of artillery and arithmetic and dedicated to teaching other due to lacking good eyesight himself. That very fact resulted in him becoming a halberdier and then discharged as a result of his organs getting scrambled. Has a cat named Corporal Snuggles (or some other rank I can't keep up with the promotions and demotions).

Cython: Emperor Ice Dragon, aka Elder Dragon aligned with Hysh the wind of Illumination and Enlightenment. Doesn't care about gender so they're probably fine with all pronouns. Incredibly powerful and knowledgeable and equally arrogant and self assured, cares primarily about the pursuit of knowledge as a hobby, and their biggest hobby seems to be the nature of the gods. Had 8 children within three centuries when they resided within the Sorceror's Islands north of Araby before they were driven off, and they terrorised quite a lot of Druchii in the process. No outstanding grudges with the Dwarves, they reside at the top of Karag Zilfin, claiming it as their lair. They occasionally deign to visit and peruse Mathilde's library and engage in discussion as it pleases, and spends most of its time sleeping.

Bok: Golden Age Relic, combination of Elf magic and Dwarf runes that are impossible to understand by modern standards. An Earth Elemental with 5 runes superimposed where its soul should be, only capable of being seen by those with Windsight. Seems to have some sort of AI and acted as a guardian within Karag Mhonar, defeating all who wandered there. Exact purpose and function unknown, Bok is capable of reforming itself from earth and travelling at immense speed when it desires to. Bok can shape itself and often acts on its own initiative, asking people to go to "Bok: Not Found" whenever it detects an emergency through whatever apparatus it uses. The Halflings took advantage of this free advertising and built a restaurant named "Bok: Not Found". Bok means banging your head on the roof of a low tunnel or a characteristic scar on the forehead caused by same.

Titus Muggins: Field Marshal of the Halfling Fieldwardens of the Moot who participated in the Sylvania campaign and later in the K8P Campaign. Fought to reclaim K8P so it would serve as a colony of the Moot, so their bread wouldn't all be in one basket. Field wardens aren't full time soldiers, so Titus has gone back to a peaceful agricultural lifestyle, but he can be quite vicious and competent when he needs to be. Carefree and fun kind of guy.

Hluodwica Stoutheart: Sharp and perceptive Elder who serves as the leader of the K8P Halflings and the Head Priestess of Esmeralda, the Halfling Goddess of Home and Hearth (and cooking/good food). Probably related to the Elder of the Moot Hisme Stoutheart, she is a baker and cook who is more than willing to experiment and take on new and unique challenges. She studies food, and "food is history". She is the one who designed the dishes required to consume the Waaghsoak Mushrooms and find them tasty (most of them at least).

Helga: Gotrek's wife and current widow, and the mother of Gurna. Imperial Dwarf Barber-Surgeon currently residing in Karag Nar and seems to inhabit more human mannerisms than Dwarven ones, seemingly disregarding Dwarven customs in favor of human ones. Headstrong and independent woman who has set up shop within Karak Eight Peaks, she was given 2000 gold courtesy of Mathilde as a result of her debt to Borek. She seems to have come to terms with Gotrek's death.

Gurna: Gotrek's child.

Halken Stonebeard: Eldest of Clan Angrund. Cranky old dwarf.

Durgrim Redmane: Skilled K8P Miner, said to be able to walk one side of a mountain and out the other with a sack of ore in one head and a sack of Grobi head on the other. One of Belegar's Economic Advisor options, dedicated to mining.

Little Franz, the Cooper: Young lad Mathilde used as a teaching aid to get the ducklings to treat themselves better. He's from Merfeld, between Hochsleben and Karak Angazhar. Was under the apprenticeship of his dad before he got pulled over into the expedition. He's been in seven battles but only participated in two, one in the Battle of the Citadel where he and his friend Big Franz took down two orcs. Another in which he got a nasty chest burn scar from a troll in the Battle of Kvinn Wyr. Participating in the Battle of Kvinn Wyr makes it likely he's an Undumgi.

Master Rein Helstrum: Member of the Winter Wolves of Ulrikadrin, one of Belegar's Military Advisor options.

The Karak-We: The We are a race of sapient eusocial giant cave spiders adapted to an underground environment and typically feed off Skaven in the Under-Empire. They communicate with each other through sound and while they're not individually intelligent/sapient, combined they count as one individual who counts each spider as a part of the whole. Their venom is paralytic, they have a caste system split between the reproductive caste, web weaving caste and the hunter caste, and they have a number of webs for different functions from building and scaffolding to holding and binding. The Karak We are fitted with an artifact allowing one of them to speak in Reikspiel, and they understand written Reikspiel as well as the basics of society and economics. They feed off Red Fang Orcs in the Karagril Gauntlet as well as hunting and being provided livestock, and provide their webs to Karak Eight Peaks as payment. The webs are being worked on to create silk. The Karak We wish to know more about the outside world, and maybe to integrate themselves more deeply in the future.

The Karak-We have become far more prosperous as part of their joining with the Karaz Ankor and K8P specifically, signified by the solidifcation of their Echo memory where they no longer have to worry about starvation or migration. Their food is sufficient through a mixture of hunting and selling their silk for monetary value in the form of livestock. The Karak-We are so prosperous that they have considered splitting, a process of creating an entirely new We that would start as the same but grow more independent and individual with time. Mathilde has convinced the Karak-We to send their offshoot into Kvinn-Wyr to serve as the Library's staff, becoming the Library-We. The arrangement is still tentative and the results remain to be seen.

Library-We: An offshoot of the Karak-We, who are becoming more prosperous with time within K8P. They are set to be formed and ready towards the end of 2488 IC to serve as the primary staff for Kron-Azril-Ungol, with a Book Nest and accomodations being prepared for them.

Priestess Fidelia: Priestess of Esmeralda tasked to teach the Karak We the basics of civilisation. Failed to convert them to Esmeralda and seemed to struggle to get along with them sometimes, but communicated the salient details.

Skarsnik: A much bigger deal in canon, in DL he was a half grown runt when he was shanked by another Goblin when he lost his "Divine Armor" as a result of Mathilde ruining the ritual to separate Gork and Mork. Very dead.

Birdmuncha the Really Zoggin' Big: Warboss of Waagh Birdmuncha, assembled from the Red Fang Greenskins of Karak Drazh/Black Crag. Got his name for killing a giant bird and eating it, and 2/3rds of his Waagh was composed of SNotlings. He had a giant Snotling Pump Wagon and all the other Big Bosses had one too, and he had a looted Dwarf Bolt Thrower enchanted with Greenskin glyphs. Escaped from his defeat at the Battle of the Caldera, but unwisely attacked Cython and was frozen as a result. Statue still somewhere in K8P and his mask, still cold to the touch, is on Mathilde's shelf.

Gorfang the Hungry: Leader of the Karagril Gauntlet offensive when he was a Big Boss, he took over the Red Fangs of Black Crag after Birdmuncha's death. Worryingly competent and large. Canon version traumatised Kazador and Kazrik.

Warboss Warpteeth: Goblin Warboss of the Crooked Moon Night Goblins of Karag Lhune. He was a large and fat Goblin with warpstone teeth who was making deals with a Master Moulder to purchase giant rats in exchange for experimental subjects. Shot in the teeth by Mathilde, blowing head to smithereens and leading to all out chaos in the Hall of the Moon.

Black Orc Shaman Warboss: Unnamed Warboss of the Broken Toof Orcs of Karag Nar, he was performing a great ritual to separate Gork from Mork into Only-Gork. Assassinated by Mathilde before he could finish the ritual, leading to her disrupting it and then absorbing the energy into Ranald.

Citadel Great Shaman: Orc Great Shaman of the Citadel with three Lesser Shamans, from the Broken Toof tribe. Got absolutely bodied by Mathilde's belt, and then his lesser shamans screwed them all over when Mathilde found the flaws in their spell and punctured it, destroying the Waagh by reverting the energies.

Silver Fang Warboss Durnash: Also known as "Naff Shiny Git", warboss of the Silver Fang splinter group of the Red Fangs in Karagril. Too paranoid to promote any of his followers to be his bodyguard. Wore a suit of armor and wielded a weapon made of chunks and flakes of silver steel harvested from Karagril's Silver Tower. Assassinated by Mathilde leading to chaos in Karagril as competing factions fought each other.

K8P Master Moulder: Master Moulder in charge of Clan Moulder's operations in Karak Eight Peaks to annihilate and scavenge Clan Mors resources. Seemed to have made deals with a Druchii somehow, and acquired Qrech from his post to serve as his advisor. When Qrech advised him against attacking, he threw Qrech in a cell and told him he would come back to experiment on him. Died with the rest of his clan in Karagril.

Qrech Anuvongeni: Only surviving non Eshin Skaven from the K8P campaign, and only Skaven living in K8P, albeit in a dungeon in Mathilde's penthouse. Counter Raid Chief of the Seventh-and-Final Combe west of the Falls of Doom in the Zorn Uzkul in the Dark Lands, he countered Chaos Dwarf forces seeking slaves and acquired experimental subjects from the Dwarves in return. Intelligent and knowledgable of the Chaos Dwarves and Skaven tactics and mentality, he is fluent in Khazalid. Through guile, trickery and divine artifact, Mathilde squeezed information out of him by acceding to his demands, intimidating him, and tricking him. She managed to get Queekish as well as a range of information on Skaven out of him, and he got a puppy named Skufit, books on Ogres, Blocks of Wood he could shape in Action Figurines (often of Ogres but sometimes something else like a Bird in Mathilde's Ranald Shrine), and correspondence with the University of Altdorf. He now has a Degree of Baccalaureate Philosophiae in the Social Science of Near Eastern Studies under the name of Quirin Paramount from the University and aspires to become a professor and make a book with all his knowledge so that he may live on in perpetuity.

Recently published the book The Loathsome Chaos Dwarves and All Their Vile Kin and spread it across many universities and libraries, providing the greatest level of detail on the Chaos Dwarves yet into a scholarly source. He has reached the position of Licentiate and he is continuing his work to become a Doctor and write more books.

Eshin-Friend: Exceptionally skilled Eshin (assassin? Night Runner? Gutter runner? Probably assassin). Scared the living daylights out of himself and Mathilde when they bumped into each other without sensing each other, let her go on the condition she never speak of this event. May he kill her last.

Sleek Sharpwit: Exceptionally skilled and intelligent Warlord of Clan Mors guarded by Albino Stormvermin who most likely died to Eshin in the Battle of Karag Yar after an unfortunate series of events.

Eshin Sorcerer: Treacherous Eshin Sorcerer who used the Dhar-Ulgu mixture of the Lore of Stealth and a regenerating Warpstone spear to attempt to assassinate an Emissary of the Council of Thirteen that he was reporting to. Shot to death after succeeding in murdering the Emissary's bodyguard. Body looted by Mathilde

Council of Thirteen Emissary: An Emissary of the Council of Thirteen, festooned with Warpstone jewelry. Had a touch of divinity in his soul, the mark of the Horned Rat rooted deep inside his mind. Met with the Eshin Sorcerer and questioned him on information given to him, and while he was surprised, he easily dispatched the Sorcerer after regaining his bearings due to exceptional pistoliering skills with a warpstone gun. Assassinated by Mathilde.

August Order of the Ducklings: Their profiles are in the College Rolodex but it felt wrong to not include them here

Borek Forkbeard: Greatbeard dwarf from Karag Dum's royal clan, was outside Karag Dum when it "fell" to Chaos during the Great War. Has been mustering resources to send an expedition to regain contact for almost 200 years. Exceptionally determined and pragmatic man who would go to great lengths for his people. Made the somewhat unwise decision of looking down on the "new holds" and the cosmopolitan Barak Varr, resulting in minimal manpower provided to his expedition. Knew a lot more than he was letting on, and last Mathilde saw him he went off to Karag Dum and had his face caressed by the Shadowgave before entering Dum. Mathilde owes him 2000 Gold Crowns.

Mathilde met Borek years after the Expedition, this time a Slayer wielding what is likely the Axe of Grimnir. Acting unknowingly as Grimnir's Chosen, he was last seen decimating the Troll population in Troll Country. Mathilde's meeting with him was enlightening as he described the nature of Morghur and Karag Dum's pact under oath that Mathilde should never tell anyone. When Mathilde reminded him of her debt to him, he told her to give it to Gotrek's widow, Helga.

Gotrek Gurinsson: Master Engineer of Zhufbar's Engineer Guild, who despite becoming clanless as a result of his family refusing to have his wife join his clan, the guild maintained contact with him. Exceptionally skilled, he seemed to not have much interest in restoring holds, yet went on the expedition anyway, as he was the only one willing to risk his life for it. Served as the Karag Dum Expedition's Head Engineer before he died during a tragic accident on an ascent up a cliff.

Snorri Farstrider: Head Ranger of the Karag Dum Expedition and member of the Redbeard Clan of Rangers watching over High Pass. While the Redbeards are technically from Karak Kadrin, in actuality they rarely go back to the hold, focused on watching over the pass since their closeby Clan Grimsteel went missing with Karak Vlag. Snorri is relentlessly practical and held strong feelings about Karak Vlag, and is torn in regards to his identity due to 3 of his great grandparents being Grimsteel of Vlag. Determined to reconnect Karak Vlag.

Joerg von Zavstra:A high ranking Templar Knight of the Knights of Taal's Fury, he rides a Demigryph and channels Taal's favor despite not being an anointed priest. His name speaks volumes, for his surname is a Kislevite town, albeit one at a four ways crossroad between the Empire's provinces and Kislev. According to Liljiana, he still knows something of the "Old Ways". A devout Taalite knight, he is experienced in facing Chaos and especially in the form of Beastmen. Relatively simple and pragmatic man, more relieved that the trip to the chaos wastes was less eventful than expected than disappointed.

Morghur the Shadowgave: A demigod of the beastmen with a highly mutative aura. The Beastmen are said to congregate around him, and he comes back every time he dies. He holds an obsession with Athel Loren. The last time he was seen was the Battle of Arden in 2244 in a joint military campaign between Bretonnians, Glade Lord Araloth and Athel Loren's Forces, and the High Elf forces mustered by Prince Eldyr of Tiranoc and Handmaiden Ystranna. Despite all conventional knowledge, Morghur now serves as Karag Dum's Gatekeeper, protecting it as he lays at the forest at its base, and fighting all comers who step into the desert crater surrounding the forest. His mutation aura is suppressed until it is forced out of him by combat, and he performed an affectionate gesture to Borek when he stepped close, letting him pass by.

Untamed Shaman of the Dolgan: Relatively polite and respectful Kurgan Shaman of the Amber Wind from the Dolgan tribe. Negotiated with Mathilde and talked with her several times using Khazalid and managed favorable trade contact with the expedition, supplying them with food and safe passage. Atypical by Imperial Amber Magister standards, but perhaps not so much for Kurgan Shamans.

White Shaman of the Yusak: Shaman of Mannisleb from the out of favor Yusak tribe, fleeing south to be away from the gaze of the Chaos gods. Seems to be relatively somber, either out of circumstance or disposition.

Slaaksho Irnik: Chieftain of the Dolgan Tribe? High ranking member favored by Slaanesh, can only speak the "Blessed Tongue" (Daemonic or Dark Tongue). His head is elongated and outside his mouth his face is a blank expanse of skin where his eyes and nose should be. He has a long pink tongue. Tasted the silver granted by Mathilde and deemed it adequate.

Slaakhamshy'y Yg'a'tedaar: Chieftain of a Kul Encampment, favored of Slaanesh with an elongated head and mutations granting him extra senses and a crab like arm. One syllable away from Daemon Princehood, he was nevertheless subjected to an inglorious death at the hands of an ice spear surprise attack.

Kul Champion of Khorne: Large muscular Champion of Khorne with hands replaced with axes and a brass collar of Khorne enforcing brutal reality on magic, nullifying and weakening it with his god's support. Almost killed Mathilde before he was killed by Liljiana.

Notable Warriors of the Kul: A Shadow Shaman who attempted to collapse reality with a portal similar to Pit of Shades, had boiling blood when he was killed. An Azyr Shaman who couldn't sense the future because of it being clouded and killed by Mathilde while he was summoning energy. A Kul warrior with an enchanted pike harrying spectral bears. A Daemonette of Slaanesh with very powerful temptation capabilities.

Vindslaktare, Chieftain of Sjoktraken (Baersonlings): Older Norscan man of the Baersonlings of Black Blood Pass, residing in a former Norse Dwarf Settlement around the Black Blood River, they trade as much as they raid. Cunning man, as demonstrated by his old age in a profession where most die young. His age is most likely the result of intelligence however, as he determined that his nephew would challenge Asarnil instead.

Völundr Jólling of the Baersonlings: Vindslaktare's Nephew and a Khornate bear of a man as muscled as he is fat, with a braided blond beard decorated with steel rings. Wielding a two handed hammer and demonstrated incredible strength, likely enhanced either by Khorne's favor/mutation or magic. Blinded and crippled by Asarnil before being killed in honor of Vaul.
High King Thorgrim Grudgebearer: High King of the Karaz Ankor, taking his seat almost 200 years ago after the Great War against Chaos due to his deeds in reconnecting with the Norse Dwarves (who fell shortly thereafter) and reclaiming ancient artifacts. Dedicated his Age of Reckoning to clear the Book of Grudges so the Dawi would have a clear consciousness when they leave the world, having lost hope after realising the Karaz Ankor's energy supply was dwindling, but with the restoration of K8P, Karak Vlag and Karag Dum's energy flow, and the recent developments, his hope has been restored. The Eyes of Grimnir have been reactivated, and Dwarf operations to reclaim Mt Silverspear, the Silver Road and the Watchtowers of Mad Dog Pass are coming into effect soon.

King Byrrnoth Grundadrakk: Ambitious Cosmopolitan trader King of Barak Varr. Determined to improve the lot of his kingdom and the Karaz Ankor, which resulted in a great many endeavors being funded and supported by him including canals and expansion efforts and supply contracts to dozens of individuals. Killed a Sea Dragon from the inside.

King Barundin Stoneheart: King of Zhufbar and Gotri's dad. Last we heard from him he was expanding the ranks of the Thunderers due to the high quality niter coming in from Stirland and helping with the process of building the Canal through Zhufbar's Black Water.

King Ungrim Ironfist: Karak Kadrin's Slayer King. Determined to fulfill both his oaths as a Slayer and a King regardless of their contradictory nature, and cares quite a bit about grudges. He is practical however, and approves of Karak Eight Peak's success more than he disapproves of their priorities. Funded and supported the Karag Dum Expedition and is currently building a canal between the Talabec and Stir in Ostermark to boost trade.

King Alrik Ranulfsson: Prince Ulthar's father and King of Karak Hirn. To those who know his shame, that two of his children killed each other leading him to bring his disinherited third son back and restore his position through "forgetfulness being induced", he is a shameful man. Their respect in him is diminished every day he doesn't take the Slayer Oath.

Queen Thurma Grintzagaz: Queen of Karak Norn.

King Gruflok Wyrzon: King of Karak Izor

King Kazador Thunderhorn: King of Karak Azul. Incredibly cheerful man who is absolutely ruthless and relentless in his pursuit of Greenskins around his mountains, having trained his troops to an absurd standard. He is so named for his runic warhorn enchanted with the Master Rune of Dismay, sowing fear in the hearts of his enemies as he pursues them. He is a formidable warrior and a crack shot with his bow, relying on other people for the more tedious work. Has an entire army of children, and his wife was named High Priestess of Valaya of Karak Azul purely for having that many children.

Thori Stoneheart, Dwarf Thane: Gotri Stoneheart's uncle and member of Zhufbar's Royal family. Thane in charge of Zhufbar's forces in Sylvania. Mathilde met with him again to requisition a mining force from Zhufbar to mine the remains of Castle Drakenhof and its crypts. Thori's trust in her capabilities and the possibility of clearing Grudges has led to him redirecting an expedition to Karak Varn to Drakenhof. He gets along pretty well with Mathilde.

Cleric Tarni: Cleric of Gazul vouched for by Gunnars, she joined the Drakenhof mining mission as the Order of Guardian's representative to deal with Undead. She is short, even for a Dwarf, she is quiet, intense, wiry and seems to be constantly watching Mathilde, although Mathilde can't tell if it's out of caution or curiosity. She wears dull black mail and wields a greatsword posessing an eerie blue glow that Mathilde is familiar with (likely the Flame of Gazul). As a Cleric of Gazul, Tarni's past is unspoken, but her fluent Reiklander Reikspiel and clumsy Grey Mountain Khazalid accent says quite a bit. She might be a canonical character from 1st Edition. Tarni is definitely not used to Dwarven endeavours, as proven by her matching the humans in speed when going through Drakenhof's tunnels, but she possesses a deep and wide ranging knowledge and understanding of various types of Undead and their weaknesses, as befits a Witch Hunter. She seemed to prefer staying back and using her crossbow, fitted with bolts tipped with the majority of the common Vampiric weaknesses. Notably she possesses Gromril and Ithilmar tips.

Narfi Hammerfist, Dwarf Engineer: Personable and excitable Master Engineer from Zhufbar obsessed with steel and gunpowder who made friends with Mathilde. Was in charge of the greatest concentration of cannon in history to topple Castle Drakenhof from its perch.

Giantslayer Bjorgvin, Dwarf Slayer: Leader of Karak Kadrin's forces in Sylvania.

Durin Wutokri: Master Engineer from Karak Norn, preferring robe, wood and torsion over steel and gunpowder. He descends from Clan Gunnisson, the clan that used to rule Mt.Silverspear before it was taken by Bloody Spear Goblins. He is a revanchist of the highest order, who swore that he would shave his beard and take the slayer oath if the K8P Expedition, of which he was in charge of the artillery, failed. Lends his assistance to individuals who want to reclaim lost holds due to his views. Currently making Bolt Throwers for the eventual expedition to retake Mt.Silverspear, his ancestral home.

Ulthar Alriksson: Open minded fullbeard ranger who served as Head Ranger of the K8P expedition and is currently the Crown Prince of Karak Hirn. Third son of King Alrik, he was disinherited in his rebellious youth for joining the Rangers and only after his success in the K8P expedition and the death of his older siblings at each other's hands was he brought back to act as Prince. Chafes under his position and holds quite a bit of resentment towards his father. Good friends with Belegar and Mathilde.

Skaroki Grimbow: Friendly Thane from Karak Izor's royal clan who served as the military leader of their forces. Believer in Thorgrim's Age of Vengeance and named his twin children accordingly. Helped teach Mathilde Khazalid as they traded war stories over ale.
Thorek and Thorgrim Grimbow: 32 year old (at the time of the K8P expedition) twin children of Skaroki. Had to stay back to their young age, but got 1 Orc and 2 Goblins respectively (just kidding I have no idea which one's which).

Thorek Ironbrow: Runelord of Karak Azul and one of the two best living Runelords of the Karaz Ankor. Incredibly skilled with the Anvil of Doom, arguably more than Kragg due to using it more, and far more involved than Kragg. More "open minded" than Kragg, which is not a very hard feat to achieve, and willing to try new things for practical purposes. Involves himself in politics and teaches whole swarms of apprentices, and his method of work is very different from Kraggs. Whereas Kragg always does everything like he knows every part of what he is doing, Thorek is slow, methodical and analytical, very carefully analysing and testing before doing anything substantial. Trades with Mathilde for Aetheric Vitae and performs favors for her in exchange. Currently cooperating with Mathilde on the Waystone project in exchange for her support in his restructuring of the Runesmith's Guild and plundering of Karaz Ghumzul's ruins.

Kraggi Sr.: Master Runesmith and former apprentice of Thorek. One of Belegar's Learning Advisor options.

Launy: Karak Kadrin Barazul, dedicated to seeing if a person's oaths have been adequately fulfilled to see whether they should take the Slayer Oath or not. Consulted Mathilde after Abelhelm's death, declaring her "one who has fulfilled her oath" (I can't remember the Khazalid this is the best you'll get from me).

Loremaster ɧæð or Sjeåth of Karak Hirn: Beekeeper expert who immigrated from the Norse Holds. Got along quite well with the We but wasn't compatible with them from a teaching perspective.

Tudnak: Seemingly hopeful Karak Vlag Dwarf who seemed to believe that they had been saved instead of falling to paranoia.

Brokkr Ivaldisson: Second Generation Azulokri (Metalsmith) and Rhunkit (Runepoker). Loremaster of Karak Vlag. Skinnier than your average dwarf, he has a wife and brother-husband. Karak Vlag's culture is quite different from the Karaz Ankor at large due to having to survive in the Aethyr for almost 200 years. Never tasted alcohol, part of the republican council in control of major decisions for Karak Vlag, and he seems open to new experiences. Detests chaos and Slaanesh for obvious reasons.

Elamina Skarrenbryn: Member of Barak Varr's Varaktuli, the guild of Oceanic Cartography who take depth soundings and make maps. Member of the Gunnarson clan. She was in charge of providing information about Barak Varr's plans for Mad Dog Pass and the Howling River to Mathilde.

Barak Varr Bookseller: Incredibly influential Barak Varr bookseller who sells Mathilde all her books by laundering it through Barak Varr's market and is exceptionally determined to provide her with all she needs due to being one of his biggest customers.
Emperor and Grand Prince Luitpold von Holswig-Schliestein of Reikland: Older man of the Reikland Dynasty. Currently married to Heidi and his heir is Mandred. Reasonable man who likes Dragomas and Belegar and doesn't seem particularly prejudiced or eager to cause trouble.

Grand Prince Maximillian von Königswald of Ostland

Grand Duke Boris X Todbringer of Middenland: Has a complicated relationship with the Ar-Ulric, rivals jockeying for power within their province but linking up against outsiders. Lead an army in conjunction with the Eonir to wipe out a Warherd of Beastmen, setting the stage for an alliance with them that the Ar-Ulric took advantage of. Gifted Prince Galenstra a Handgun. Unlike canon, Khazrak One Eye was killed before he removed Boris' eye, likely butterflying his canon personality and obsession. He is happy over the developments with the Eonir and their adoption of Ulric, and seeks to further relations with them, including trade. Trading efforts are hampered by a lack of roads that don't involve antagonising Nordland or Westerland, however, and therefore he is waiting for an opportune moment when things cool down.

Grand Duke Jurgen Feuerbach of Talabecland: Mentioned as one of the likely possibilities for becoming Emperor if a vote were to be held soon, likely due to the major influence he holds as Elector Count of Talabecland. He is, however, a decade older than Luitpold.

Grand Count Marius Leitdorf of Averland

Grand Countess Roswita van Hal of Stirland: Possible candidate for Emperor. Strong connection to the Cult of Sigmar, admirable achievements and military operations in Sylvania, and can use a marriage as a bargaining chip if need be.

Grand Count Konstantin von Liebwitz of Wissenland: Fiercely independent count who refuses to have the Imperial Army in the city of Nuln, preferring to deal with all his issues by himself. By his own admission, he is a very straightforward man. Put a politician in front of him, he'll yell at them, put an enemy in front of him, he'll fight them. Not good at cloak and dagger and subterfuge, which resulted in him losing a few of his fingers and almost his life at the hands of the Skaven under Nuln if it weren't for Kazrik saving him. In gratitude for Kazrik, he authorised the construction of a branch of the Imperial Gunnery School in Karag Nar.

Grand Baroness Bernardine Ludenhof of Hochland

Grand Baron Werner Nikse of Nordland

Chancellor Wolfram Hertwig of Ostermark: Mastermind of the canal operation, he is touted as one of the possible options for becoming Emperor were Lutipold to die.

Elder Hisme Stoutheart of Mootland

Grand Theogonist, based in Reikland: Kind of a mess of a Grand Theogonist, very politically involved. Supports Nordland in the Nordland-Middenland dispute involving the Eonir and almost came to blows with the Ar-Ulric during the Elector's Meet, placed his tools within the Stirland council and refused to provide support to the reclamation of Sylvania. Battered both Abelhelm and Kasmir's faith in the Sigmarite church as a result, and seems to be gunning for a fourth Elector vote for the Sigmarite cult.

Ar-Ulric Carl Valgeir: Wiry and greying man in his forties said to be as politically wily as he is pious. Gave near explicit confirmation that he does not hold any hard feelings over Ruprecht Wulfhart's defection, and seems determined to form strong ties with the Eonir. Sometimes rival, sometimes ally to Graf Boris.

Empress Heidi Haupt-Anderssen: Ranaldian Priestess and the Empress to Sigmar's Holy Empire, arguably the Empire's biggest and boldest con artist. A favored of Ranald, she is capable of channeling His Divine favor, and lived a very long life due to performing favors for the Shallyans, extending her lifespan and bringing her back to the flower of her youth. Formerly ran a 13 year long con as Countess Gabriella Von Nachtafen, pretending to be a Vampire and stealing tax money. Mother of the current heir to the throne, Crown Prince Mandred, Mathilde could be considered to be her "partner in crime" in a sense, as she serves as Mandred's godmother. After the conversation with Mathilde over Mandred's fate, it could be said that the two are friends, in a sense.

Crown Prince Mandred: 7 Year old son of Emperor Luitpold and Empress Heidi. Heir to the throne and seems to like to terrorise statues of older emperors with wooden swords. Gifted an enchanted neighing wooden horse by Mathilde, his godmother. Currently enamored with knights, he sets his dolls on his toy horse and plays jousting with them. His frustration at the toy horse's neighing volume has resulted in the winds unconciously reacting and boosting the enchantment on the horse, however, indicating his magical talent. After a conversation with Mathilde, Heidi has decided to raise Mandred as a Wizard through the Colleges. His claim to the title of Emperor is suspect as a result, but he is likely to maintain the title of Grand Prince.

Baron Heinrich: 6ft tall teenager who doesn't seem to have stopped growing, Heinrich is the illegitimate son of Graf Boris Todbringer. He served as a dignitary and representative of the Graf in Kazrik and Edda's Barazdeg, and seems to be keeping up with politics in an area.

Graf Otto von Bitternach, Chamberlain of the Seal/Diplomatic advisor: Serious faced and prematurely balding man who has managed his position through reaching accords with all manner of individuals from across the globe. Exceptionally skilled and cunning diplomat who crafted a narrative that would suit his purposes to defame Marienburg's reputation as obstructing the Imperial Navy and succeeded.

Chancellor of the Imperial Treasury, Friedrich von Schlafebild/Financial advisor: He is from an old but destitute family that expended its political influence to give him a position as Kammerjunker that paid dividends when it gained him a position as chancellor. Somewhat nervous man desperately trying to shove someone in the position of Governor General of Swamp Town.

Baronet Holzkrug: Noble in service to the Chamberlain of the Imperial Seal. He was so nervous to talk to Mathilde she assumed he would attempt to assassinate her.

Sir Philipp Freytag: One of the twelve Knights of the Inner Circle that form the Supreme Council of the Ancient Initatic and Holy Order of the Templars of Sigmar, otherwise known as the Witch Hunters, under the Lord Protector. He wears a black robe trimmed with yellow instead of the armour Witch Hunters favour while seeking their prey, and his face is dominated by a mass of twisted scar tissue peeking out from beneath a skull plate, an eye patch, and a prosthetic nose, telling of some past injury that must have almost claimed his life. It is customary among military men that eye patches bear the heraldry of their regiment, and instead of that of the Templars his bears a skull over two crossed cannons. The heraldry indicates that he served in Grundel's Defenders in Nuln/Wissenland.

He speaks in a rasping voice, works in a room not intended for meeting guests with overstuffed bookshelves and spartan decoration. He has the bearing of a disciplined and suspicious military man and a calculating gaze when an enemy is presented before him. He was in charge of the redaction of papers sent to Roswita and the Hochlander in regards to Alberich Haupt-Anderssen's ritual, and offered assistance when presented with the possibility of him returning. Mathilde does not like him due to implied insults.

Hunter Lord Goran Beyer: One of Talabheim's Hunter Lords and official in charge of the Longshanks in the area, initiatied into the Order of the Antler so he can oversee his duties in the vicinity of Talabheim. Seems to be jovial and enthusiastic about hunting and regaling people about the tales of his hunts, but instantly sheds the joviality when faced with a situation that demands his attention.

Dobromir: Taal's High Priest of the East, he is a deeply tanned man wearing robes that signify his status as one of the most powerful men within the Cult of Taal. Dobromir is one of the loudest voices within the Cult clamoring for the restoration of the positon of a Guardian for the Gryphon Wood, as the current situation means that the Guardians of the Forest of Shadows are the ones in charge of Ostermark's forests, and the distance between the two sections makes it difficult for full time observation of the woods. As such, he has an investment in diminishing the contributions of the local Longshanks and Taalites so that a Guardian may be instated. Despite his political inclinations, however, he is still willing to play ball and acceded to Mathilde's request to have a first hand look at the Taalite's observations before making any judgements thanks to Mathilde using Article 14. While Article 14 theoretically does not apply to the Longshanks, it is not a statement that the Taalites like to make as they desire to prove their legitimacy as equal to Sigmar's Templars in that area.

Baba Brzeginias: Local Hedgewise of the village of Gerdouen in northern Ostermark between Fortenhaf Bechafen bordering Kislev. Due to the Ostermarker Hedgewise sharing a border with the Hag Witches, there is significant crossover and cultural exchange, which probably explains her title. Brzeginias is a wiry old woman with white hair and milky eyes that still appear disconcertingly sharp behind the haze, and she also has a hatchet on her hip. She appears to be quite grumpy with Mathilde but willing to comply despite her misgivings about the Colleges due to Mathilde's connections with Kurtis Krammovitch. Baba Brzeginias seemed to be quite capable and confident in her abilities, although she still firmly considers herself a small fish in a small pond and knows that there are things that she is incapable of dealing with. She does not like the Jade Order and appears to actively support her local community with personal crafts.

Aksel: Local Hedgewise of the Village of Huven around the eastern border of Nordland with Ostland, deep in the Forest of Shadows, representing the Nordlander Halethan Hedgewise. He is a contact of Kurtis Krammovitch's. He is an older, wiry man with greying blond hair cropped short and a pattern of scars that resemble tree roots encircling his right forearm, possibly ritualistic in nature. His cottage is dominated by a workbench with a variety of woodworking tools, indicating a profession as a carpenter. Aksel has demonstrated a fair amount of knowledge regarding the history of the Hedgewise and the condition of his surrounding area, and seems to have inherited a degree of knowledge from his ancestors who were tasked to guard the Forest of Shadows by Sigmar himself. Alas, the Hedgewise have fallen since then, but they have recently been experiencing some good fortune, with a number of old families from Ostland joining their numbers due to the death of the Ostland Blessed, and Laurelorn's situation instigating greater respect to the forests from the populacce. Aksel was inordinately welcoming and friendly to Mathilde, likely as a result of the Father coin, all but confirming that Haletha is a daughter of Ranald's.

Baronet Willus Husserl: Willus is of the Menshenfresserhoffen Husserls of Ostermark. He advocated for overland trade due to his territories being landlocked, believing Ostermark to be ignoring roads in favor of the rivers, and was rewarded with the unenviable job of questioning Mathilde over her intentions with the EIC and possible competition concerns. She informed him Ostermark could play around with the Northeast of the Stir as much as they wanted as the EIC has no concerns east of Wurtbad in regards to the Stir.

Former Empress: Involved in the Lahmian conspiracy, assassinated by Regimand while she was pregnant with Karl Franz

Imperial Spymaster: Whoever they are, they were the one who inserted Professor De Verezzo as Stirland's Marshal to spy on Abelhelm and gave replacement options as an apology after the Professor's execution.

Dietlinde: A young woman who works in an upscale Altdorf teahouse in the Altdorf Southbanks, an old money district that contains the Light College.
Venceslava: A severe-looking woman perhaps a few years older than Mathilde, with prematurely grey hair and wearing a sky-blue dress and cloak. Tried to conceal her annoyance at Mathilde not jumping when she attempted to sneak up and whisper in her ear about Kislevite witches following cliches. Ice Witch.

Zlata: Young and dressed in a loose white sundress more suited to a Tilean summer than a Kislevite autumn. Translates Reikspiel for Milica and interrupts to point out Mathilde doesn't look like a dwarf, indicating a sense of humor. Ice Maiden, not yet a full Witch. Has been chosen as the candidate to represent the Ice Court in the Waystone Project. As an Ice Maiden, she has sworn a vow of chastity to understand the Widow, and quick to express regret at the notion when she notes that she's been "sent to the land of beautiful men". Has been observed ogling shirtless Elven athletes in a local park in Laurelorn. She is the daughter of traders, which makes her one of the few Ice Witches who can read, and she didn't expect to become an Ice Witch. She was primarily chosen for the project for her ability to read, her proficiency in Reikspiel, and possibly the fact that she is eager to prove herself yet unlikely to cause trouble. Mathilde's impression is that "you see is what you get - she's fairly competent, fairly scholarly, and fairly out of her depth." Niedzwenka thinks she's a vulnerable target for manipulation if necessary. Zlata wants the project to end in good terms so she can graduate to Ice Witch and come back for some Elven action.

Milica: Ice Witch. Older and larger (possibly quite muscular) than Zlata while scowling up at the palace of the Tzar like it offended her while ignoring the light-brown hawk apparently grooming her hair. Doesn't speak Reikspiel and is consistently elbowed by Liljana whenever she speaks. Her hawk is her familiar. Capable melee fighter with the ability to form ice swords and shred enemies with ice shards and slow them down with Ice Magic. Capable Battle Magic user. Full name might be Militsa Lushadoch Gmelin, a canonical character who has one quoted segment in Realm of the Ice Queen recounting the history of the Ice Witches.

Ljiljana: One of the four Hromada Ledyanoy Ved'ma Mathilde met, she is a Gospodarinyi Ice Witch with white hair. An old and energetic woman with quite the strong personality, she was sent by the Ice Witches to retrieve Za Goblet with Mathilde's assistance, and seemed relatively carefree about her possible death. Quite powerful and capable of channeling the Ice Magic of Kislev, connected to the Ancient Widow of the land. She has very strong opinions about the relations of magic and the Divine, and seems to view Ursun, Dazh and Tor as the Ancient Widow's brothers. Her ability to channel the energy of her gods and summon their manifestations of the physical realm to achieve her mission put some truth to her words and puts her in the "technically a divine caster" territory. She is also capable of a wide variety of spells, including the same enviromental manipulation as Milica and the ability to turn into a Frost Fiend. Title is "Ice Crone".

Evelina Bebchuk: One of the six possible choices for the Ice Court representative to the Waystone Project. Her name is infamous in the Total War Warhammer 3 community thanks to the name generator constantly generating Frost Maidens with her name, filling up the logs with Evelina Bebchuk.

Walpura: One of the six possible choices for the Ice Court Representative to the Waystone Project. Might be related to the Ice Witch of the same name in Praag mentioned in Realm of the Ice Queen.

Nadezhda: Ice Maiden and former apprentice to Ljiljana. She is around her thirties, never learned Reikspiel, and has a crush on Boris and desires to ride him, which is why she came to his support in the Battle of Shirokij (according to Ljiljana of course). She only dabbled on the lightest of Battle Magic, putting her capabilities below Ljiljana and Milica, but still able to contribute to the battle to a significant degree thanks to a river that she froze over, bogging down the enemy.
Tzar Vladimir Bokha: Kislev's Tzar, seems to only care about killing and eating according to his son. Ice Witches don't like him much. Capable battle strategist who makes it his hobby to charge into battle the instant there is a problem to solve with violence. Has a personal taxidermist and was fully satisfied with a Manticore corpse for display despite missing a glorious battle.

Tsarevich Boris Bokha: Heir to the position of Tzar, more well liked by the Ice Witches. He was in charge of discussing the Waystone project with Mathilde and was willing to provide nearly anything Mathilde needed if she could push back chaos. Intense and straightforward man, faithful to Ursun and seemingly skilled in combat. Wields an enchanted Ice Glaive known as the Ice Shard which significantly boosts his combat prowess, and has shown himself capable of taking down a Manticore and Treeman with support. Inspiring leader who's managed to form a strong rapport with the Kossars and the Kreml Guard, bringing them firmly under his control. Currently building connections with the Ice Witches. He is also well read, having known of the "Impossible March of the Damned Soldier" ritual from having read about it, as opposed to his father, who doesn't know how valuable Manticore dung is.

Bedrich: Kislevite Border Guard within the settlement of Rakhov. Big, strong, and dim according to his supervisor, and he would constantly go to his captain to ask questions when he became confused, which Captain Loza preferred.

Captain Loza: Kovnik (Captain) serving as a border guard who checks people's credentials within the settlement of Rakhov in Kislev. Seems to think highly of himself and he was quite eager to ruin a foreign noble's day if they thought they could get by the border without proper credentials. He was able to adapt to a situation that he did not expect quickly enough however.

Boyar Kirill: The Boyar of the Kislevite town/region of Rakhov. He is a bearded man wearing the tall fur hat of a boyar and the golden sun medallion of the Cult of Dazh, and it is hard to tell through his layers of clothing whether he is well-muscled, well-fed, or both. Faithful of Dazh, speaks Reikspiel and Kislevarin (Gospodarinyi), good relationship with the Ice Witches, looks down on the slow city Boyars, and quite eager for battle (grinning at the thought of three pulks led by one Boyar drawing out the Tzar). Reasonable and determined man.

Boyar Kalashinivik: The Boyar of the Kislevite town of Resvynhaf and the surrounding Shirokij villages. The Praag Kalashiniviks supported Tzarina Kattarin the Bloody's reign and were purged by Tzar Pavel, but the Resvynhaf Kalashiniviks were not found to have any connection so they were let loose. The Boyar was off on a trip to Praag when the Battle of the Shirokij occured, and from Drycha's perspective, she apparently wanted him due to a mixed lineage between the Ice of the North (Lineage of the Khan Queens?) and the Sands of the South (Nehkhara?), implying a possible connection to the Vampire Tzarina Kattarin the Bloody. While he has not participated in the Battle, the Ice Witches are determined to examine the situation, granting them favor with Tsarevich Boris.

Boyar of Fort Jakova: Boyar of Fort Jakova, remained in the mountains during the Battle of the Shirokij due to unrest in the mountains. Possible troubles with Karak Ungor? Goblin corpses were spotted floating down the Talabec, which is connected to the Urskoy that is fed by the mountain streams close to Jakova.

Boyar Yevschenko: One of the Boyars of Erengrad. Has some sort of connection to Baba Niedzwenka, and according to Liljianna, would be happy to be rid of her.

Baba Gyulk: One of the six possible choices for the Hag Witch Representative for the Waystone Project. Mentioned in Realm of the Ice Queen, praising the Ice Witches role in maintaining the order.

Baba Olna: One of the six possible choices for the Hag Witch Representative for the Waystone Project. Mentioned in the Realm of the Ice Queen as a spirit specialist.

Baba Doya: One of the six possible choices for the Hag Witch Representative for the Waystone Project. Mentioned in Realm of the Ice Queen. Nationalistic.

Baba Osuleg: One of the six possible choices for the Hag Witch Representative for the Waystone Project. Mentioned in Realm of the Ice Queen. In canon (which is set decades into the future), she leads a community of tainted (mutants) and has been afflicted with a mutation. Has some sort of sinister purpose.

Baba Pannochka: One of the six possible choices for the Hag Witch Representative for the Waystone Project. Boney original.

Baba Niedzwenka: The Hag Witch Representative for the Waystone Project. Boney original (?). She is from Erengrad. She is an plump old woman in a black frock with short white hair, and her first appearance showed her sailing a pinnance up the River Schaukel into Laurelorn alone through the Sea of Claws. She speaks in a deep, rich voice with only a hint of an accent, and seems to speak Gospodarinyi, Reikspiel and Eltharin at a minimum. Her personality is that of a jovial, carefree yet sinister figure, casually mentioning problematic subject and using inflammatory language, often not caring for the boundaries set by others such as the Elves or the Ice Witches. Mathilde's Windsight spots no magical ability that indicates if she has used anything recently, and yet she sees dozens of ephemeral attachments to her soul in regards to the boat she uses and several items concealed on her person.

She is a "Koldunja", a type of spirit specialist form of Hag Witch, and while most Hag Witches grow weaker outside their territory and far from the spirits' homes, she personally mentions that she has taught many spirits in her time that it is better to be on her good side, and that she still retains much of her powers if necessary. She has demonstrated the ability to tie a rope from her boat in an "unsettlingly serpentine motion" by simply waving her hand, and has demonstrated that he boat sails without need of wind and current through the use of a spirit around the hull that can materialise the foaming waters into an old man who moans in an agonised and bubbly voice before Niedzwenka dunks him again. She claims that he has drowned too many people to claim to be innocent, which implies that the Spirit is a Vodianoi.

Zlata says that Niedzwenka is older than Kislev, and that "she has always been this way, but she's better than she used to be". Combining Niedzwenka's age with her dislike of the Ice Witches with her affinity for water and specifically the Sea of Claws, and it is highly likely she is the Sea Hag of legend. An ancient Hag Witch who advised Khan Wieran in his defence of Norvard (currently Erengrad) against the Gospodar before Kislev was formed, and whose curses couldn't match up to the Ice Witches so she disappeared into the Sea of Claws and cursed the Gospodar, becoming the Sea Hag.
Ranald: God of Luck, Trickery, Freedom from Oppression and Thievery. Mathilde's oldest and most annoying friend. Shallya's paramour. Parent of two children.

Shallya: Goddess of Mercy. Ranald's paramour. Mother of two children.

Ranald and Shallya's Daughter 1 (Haletha): Looks like Her father with a hint of Her mother. Haletha has been confirmed to be a Daughter of Ranald's through the use of the Father coin, which worked on Aksel, Nordlander Hedgewise and follower of Haletha. Haletha is the Goddess of the Forest of Shadows who protect its inhabitants from the Forest's dangers, and is primarily worshipped by the Forest's inhabitants, primarily the Ostlander and Nordlander Hedgefolk. According to Aksel, Halethan worship has spread far and wide under different names, where she's revered as a Goddess of the Hunt in the North as Haleth, a Fertility Goddess in the South and West also as Haleth, or as a God of Journeys in the West as Kalita. Aksel's defensiveness over mention of a sibling of Haletha despite the Coin indicates a possibility that she has informed some of her followers of her situation and that they would like it to be a secret.

Ranald and Shallya's Daughter 2: Looks like Her mother with hints of Her father.

Drycha: Ancient Branchwraith and Ulgu caster with a deepseated grudge against the Elves. Born of Addaivoch, the Tree of Woe in Athel Loren, she has spent the last millenia and beyond seeking a method to release the one she used to serve as Handmaiden to, the corrupted Treeman Ancient Coeddil, from his Wildwood prison. As a result, she has seeked several artifacts across the world and across the years, until she came across Mathilde in the Battle of the Shirokij. Fed bad information, rushing into a kill zone that she didn't realise was going to be there, having expected little to no resistance, and firmly rejected by the Forest she was attempting to use for her benefit, she was thoroughly and utterly outclassed and split in half, with her top half incinerated by the Dragonflask. Whether she still lives in one way or another is unknown, but she is unlikely to be a problem for a while. Her bottom half has been acquired as a material by Mathilde, likely to be fashioned into something in some shape or form.

After conversations with Paranoth and Cadaeth, Mathilde has confirmed Drycha's identity and her past as Coeddil's handmaiden, and determined her goal to acquire royal blood for some sort of ritual, possibly to free Coeddil. She has also discovered that Drycha was merely using a vessel, and that as long as Drycha can venture through the World Roots to reach her birth tree she should be able to recover in time from the greivous wound dealt to her. While it would be an unpleasant journey, it is a possible one.

The Ancients: The last of the Treeman Ancients of Athel Loren. Adanhu the Wise, Coeddil the Protector, and Durthu the Benevolent. Adanhu is dead after absorbing Ariel's corruption, Coeddil has been corrupted by Morghur and is sealed within the Wildwood, and only Durthu remains, bitter and jaded. Drycha's goal is to free her master, Coeddil, from the Wildwood.

Overtyrant Greasus Goldtooth: Tyrant of the Goldtooth Tribe and Overtyrant of the Ogre Kingdoms. Belegar has mentioned in 2487 IC that a new Overtyrant has risen in the Ogre Kingdoms, which is likely to be Greasus as that is the start of his canonical reign. Greasus is a particularly large and powerful Ogre with an immense appetite and significant intelligence, and an understanding of economics and gold that far surpasses the average Ogre. This allows him to understand the benefits of trade through the Silk Road, granting him a significant trade presence that is likely only starting in DL, and will continue to grow.

Daroir of Nagarythe: The current Ulthuani Ambassador to the Empire and the one Mathilde came into contact with to drop off the Druchii she had in custody. Seemed quite eager to get to work on him, and offered her a raven talisman from behind his snow white hair despite Mathilde not seeing where it came from to serve as a sign of favor. If presented to the Lothern Guard, they will lead her to Nagarythe where she can spend 99 days joining the Nagarythians in their eternal war against Naggaroth from now until the end of time.

Asarnil the Dragonlord: Exiled Dragon Prince of Caledor kicked out from Ulthuan due to disobeying Finubar's orders, which Asarnil took offence to because he succeeded. One of the most powerful and proud Elven warriors, he possess a strong bond to Deathfang, the strongest and eldest awake Star Dragon of Caledor, and possesses an artifact made by Caledor Dragontamer to grant him illusory doubles to protect him and Deathfang. Exceptionally skilled with the blade and in all forms of close combat and serves as an inordinately expensive Old World Mercenary. Hoards his accumulated money instead of spending it lavishly. Mathilde made acquaintces with him by speaking Eltharin to him, which he had no heard in years and grown rusty in. She managed to write down his memoirs and published them to astounding success. He joined both the Sylvanian campaign and the Karag Dum Campaign, and seemed quite eager for interesting challenges and experiences. He hates Finubar.

Deathfang: Oldest awake Caledorian Star Dragon, large and with green scale, he is immensely powerful and knowledgeable. Seems to have the ability to sense magic and even divine aura and identify the nature of the divine aura despite not being a magic user, which he believes to be a form devolution to bind yourself to the world and die with it without seeing the radiance of the stars. Immensely arrogant and rarely deigns to speak Eltharin, but chose to grace Mathilde with his knowledge through an earth shattering story. Too bad Mathilde can't corroborate it.

Phoenix King Finubar: Current Phoenix King of Ulthuan and has been so for roughly 300+ years. Rules from Eataine, specifically the capital of Lothern, and has a very trade and sea focused rule dedicated to rebuilding bridges. Not all his efforts are successful.

Prince Eldyr of Tiranoc: Mustered Asur forces for the Battle of Arden in 2244

Handmaiden Ystranna: Mustered Asur forces for the Battle of Arden in 2244.

Glade Lord Araloth: Mustered Asrai forces for the Battle of Arden in 2244

Duke Huebald d'Carcassone: Short and young dour man who serves as the Duke of Carcassone, the pragmatic Bretonnian dukedom. He and his wife like to dance around the meaning of their words so they don't outright say what they mean, simply imply it. Seems to be having trouble with Chaos worshipping Black Orcs named Iron Orcs with chaos armor nailed to their bodies. Talked with Mathilde over possibilities of hosting the Waystone project.

Duchess Schermilde: Duke Huebald's wife. Theoretically she was there to "translate" for him but there was no translating whatsoever as she contributed to the discussion as an equal partner. Seemed uncertain about the possibility of being involved with the project if Bretonnia was not involved, as "good intentions have a tendency to fade with distance".

Damsel: Unnamed Damsel that Mathilde met in Kazrik and Edda's Barazdeg. She outlined the ways in which Mathilde could attract the Bretonnians into the Waystone Project, namely, showing results and/or dealing with Carcassonne's Iron Orc problem.

Morgiana Le Fay: Fey Enchantress of Bretonnia, the "mortal avatar" of the Lady of the Lake.

King Phillippe V: Current King of Bretonnia. All Kings are Grail Knights.

Arkat Fooger: Head of House Fooger of Marienburg's Directorate. Only Dwarf on Marienburg's Council, he deals with non-human affairs and his house deals with Dwarf imports as well as banking (this is from canon sources, specifically Sold Down the River, and not DL itself). Fooger's onscreen presence consists of a conversation between him and Mathilde where he outlines what he thinks of the entire canal business, namely that he doesn't care and thinks that whoever's throwing a fuss about it is a hasty manling. He suspects the De Roelefs since they stand to lose the most, but has no proof.

Prince Angelo De Vela: Current Prince of Tobaro in Tilea
Queen Marrisith: Queen of the Eonir and descendant of Aenarion, Marrisith is the great granddaughter of the first Queen of Laurelorn Maruviel. She is around six and a half feet tall wearing silver ithilmar breastplate armor that contrasts with her long shimmering golden hair. She wears a crown inlaid with designs of leaves and crowns with sparkling jewels and has faintly blue eyes. Seems to desire contact with the outside world and to prevent the extinction of the Eonir, but her exact intentions, temperament and who she really is remains in question. What is known is that she is no stranger to ruthless political messaging, considering she's hosting Mathilde and her project in the Major House that used to belong to the family that most opposed outside contact. Surprisingly youthful and playful, and less guarded than one would imagine of a queen, at least with Mathilde. Does not seem to have a good relationship with her uncle.

Lord Hatalath: One of the 12 Grey Lords of the modern day. A faction of Laurelorn in their own right despite their small size, they play a major part in its survival. He and his companions live in a liminal realm adjacent to Laurelorn but available from all over the forest, and he displays exceptional magical ability, including construct animation and movement between planes. Described as an aged Elven man with his white hair and beard cropped close, wearing worn hose and tunic under a long travelling cloak. Friendly and positive relations with Marrisith, he was the one to answer the Queen's call to support the Waystone Project. He is usually incredibly absorbed in his research, so he doesn't keep up with the goings on of the outside world much. Despite this he has walked the area of the nascent Empire before and speaks fluent but archaic Reikspiel. Exceptionally knowledgable on a number of topics, including the Old Ones. Does not view Mathilde as a peer, therefore she cannot interact with him socially.

Marrisith's Uncle: Name unknown. One of the 12 Grey Lords. Marrisith doesn't seem to like him.

Lords Thanan: Two of the 12 Grey Lords, they're brothers. Always happy to visit the outside world and Marrisith but always want to go back as soon as the sun kisses the horizon.

Lord Sarumar: One of the 12 Grey Lords. Informed Hatalath of the Dwarfs "doing something with the waystones again", indicating either exceptional perception or simply keeping an eye on the outside world more than his colleague.

Champion Kadoh: Current Champion of the Queen of Laurelorn. The Champion is decided by the Festival of Games held in honor to Asuryan, a series of tests of strength and skill determined by the Temple of Asuryan (formerly divided between Elwynn and Malforric and currently just Malforric) every 4 years. The Champion becomes part of the tie breaking Triumvirate, and considering that he was chosen through strength he is more of a piece than a player. Astoundingly muscular Elf, immensely skilled and powerful in many forms of combat, showing his familiarity in all of them. Discussions with him always veer off politics, indicating his lack of strength in that area, which is likely how he was swayed by House Elwynn before their death. Currently in the Queen's pocket, but Johann is currently befriending him to attain a connection. Unless he is severely underplaying his abilities, he has only demonstrated the ability to use one or two simple battle magic spells from each of the eight lores of magic, seeming to focus more on physical training.

Arbiter Yadoh: Arbiter of the High Council. First Queen's Champion in the history of Laurelorn, which makes him one of very few people still living who fought in the War of Vengeance. Wields a ceremonial halberd.

Lady Delynna: Warden of the Sun and current Vicarius Triumvir, a position that swaps between each of the Wardens every year. Part of House Malforric, which is in control of the Temple of Asuryan, and therefore she has two votes in the High Council most of the time. Her house is very isolationist and voted against contact.

Prince Galenstra: Interested in hunting, ranged weapons and guns, Prince Galenstra of the Major House Fanpatar is the Warden of the Rain located in the Schadensumpf. He holds two votes in the high council most of the time and is Vicarius Triumvir 1/4th of the time, and his House dominates worship of Ladrielle and came from Yvresse.

Stormwitch Kaia: Forestborn Warden of Storm, has always been in support of peaceful relations with outsiders, including the Empire, Druchii and Norscans. Might be the same Kaia Stormwitch who was part of Scarloc's adventuring party hundreds of years ago when fighting N'Kari.

Vicerine Cadaeth: A forest being and member of the council serving as the Wardens of Frost, in favor of outside contact. Served as the diplomatic figure to the Graf, Ar-Ulric and Mathilde, seeking to charm. Vicerine of Oldenlitz. Likely a Branch Nymph or Branchwraith as she has demonstrated significant space warping ability indicating strong magical presence. Possibly a combination between Elf and Spirit, as the Ward of Frost has some rumors surrounding the comingling of Elf and Spirit. Resides in an abandoned human settlement and holds a measure of curiousity in Mathilde's kind. Holds a degree of concern about the Waystones and knowledge of maintaining the Lornalim tributes. Calls the Lornalim her "children". Reasonably attractive by Mathilde's standards.

Frost Wardens: A pair of Elves (or at least they look like Elves) with a spiritual connection to each other similar to familiars but different. Perhaps they are spirits or spirit-elves. Bare, gleaming muscles and modesty covered by only a few leaves, they wield bows and guard the Ward of Frost. They speak in eery synchronisation and finish each other's sentences. Exact relation to each other and what they are is unknown.

Prince Lindalioc: Last Prince of Frost from House Elwynn, who held a lot of power before his death alongside all his remaining family members in the Battle of the Schadensumpf.

Councillor Isthien: Head of House Tindomiel and Councillor on the High Council of Laurelorn. He is an aged elf with a lined face sitting crosslegged on a platform consisting of a bed of pillows atop a floating cloud of Azyr, which he directs with small hand motions. Whether this is an affectation or necessity is unknown, as he might require it to move due to a disability. Isthien speaks in a carefully neutral tone and seems to desire to advance the influence of his house and Goddess by designing new Waystones in Hekarti's honor. Isthien's name is derived from the Eltharin rune for "Issth", indicating the Serpent of Light, Dextrousness and Trickery.

Senior Lecturer Emeritus Sarvoi: Lead magical theorist of House Tindomiel and member of the Waystone Project as part of Tindomiel's contribution. He is a short (for an Elf) and bookish man of indeterminite but advanced age, wearing pristine white silks trimmed with gold. Mathilde's first impression of him is "that at any given time there's a dozen stamped from the same mold as him in the halls of the University of Altdorf, the type that would give a lecture to a half dozen with the same enthusiasm as he would a thousand if they seemed like they were paying attention." Sarvoi is a lecturer for the Library of Mournings, and his mannerisms clearly indicates an individual who is used to and enjoys teaching, and absolutely loves the subject matter that he speaks of. In fact, Mathilde notes that he speaks of magic as a lover to be wooed rather than an impersonal force to be studied, and that he is quite popular with the artists who romanticise the Forestborn. He is open-minded and not quite so condescending as one might expect, and is willing to learn and understand other viewpoints and perspectives. He holds an open curiosity, a wry sense of humor, and a desire to enlighten others. He is the one to inform Mathilde on the theoretical mechanics behind the movement of magical energy through leylines using Dhar as a dynamic force.

Councillor Galrith: Patriarch of the Major House Miriel in Laurelorn. Miriel dominate the worship of Vaul and have a focus on craftsmanship. Galrith and his house are isolationist due to worry over competition but willing to cooperate with the Council's decision. Galrith in particular displays a dry wit and a certain passive aggressiveness typical of one in his position. Galrith seems to be a bit of a woodcrafter, as he was crafting a bow when meeting Mathilde. Seems to have an impressive resistance to poison, as he was crafting a bow from Yew wood without any protective equipment. Galrith's name is derived from the Eltharin rune "Galri", indicating Destiny Entwined, Sorrow and Joy.

Laurelin: Galrith's eldest child who is three years older than Mathilde. Lanky and in her teens for an elf. Curious and friendly in comparison to her father.
Belegar's Grandfather: Almost elected High King until Thorgrim managed to get the seat. That thought consumed him until his dying day.

Dieter IV: Stirlander Emperor of the Unfahiger dynasty, outrageously corrupt and incompetent. Accepted bribes for a number of contradictory proposals, causing outright chaos including the Night of a Thousand Arcane Duels, the charter allowing the existence of an Elementalist College in Nuln, conflicting charters over Flensburg and most infamously, granting Marienburg its independence.

Grom the Paunch: Rotund Warboss of Waagh Grom from Misty Mountain. Ran through the Moot and the Empire, causing absolute chaos around 2429 before leaving the coast of the Old World to Ulthuan, presumably due to the whispers of Saint Grey of the Grey Order, in search of a better fight. Defeated by Eltharion the Grim of Tor Yvresse. Status unknown.

Gorbad Ironclaw: Infamous Orc Warboss of the Waagh Ironclaw around 1700, razed the Moot, destroyed Solland and his wyvern ate the Electoral Emperor of the time. Caused absolute chaos as the Solland Runefang was gone and the province was subsumed by Wissenland.

Son of Aenarion and Morathi, caused the civil war in Ulthuan known as the Sundering, tore pieces of Nagarythe and turned into giant city ships called Black Arks and sailed to Naggaroth to form his kingdom. Darth Vader.

Aenarion: Known as Aenarion the Defender, the first Pheonix King, he is the first person to step into the Fires of Asuryan and unite the Asur against the forces of Chaos during the Great Incursion. Worked with his wife the Everqueen Astarielle and his friend Caledor Dragontamer to fight back the tides of Chaos. Long story short his wife dies he goes mad he gets the Sword of Khaine he curses his bloodline Caledor does a ritual to create the vortex Aenarion defends Caledor they all die and somewhere in between he has a relationship with Morathi and has Malekith.

Caledor Dragontamer: The kingdom of Caledor is named after him. Immensely powerful wizard, created the Vortex of Ulthuan in a ritual that zapped him out of reality alongside his fellow wizards helping him out.

Bel-Shannar: The Explorer, Phoenix King after Aenarion. He Explored.

Caledor I: Phoenix King during Malekith's Rebellion.

Caledor II: Phoenix King during War of the Beard. Shut down the act of independence of the Elven Colonies who wanted to call themselves Elthin Arvan as the 11th kingdom of Ulthuan during the Sundering. He shaved a Dwarven ambassador, started a war and got his ass kicked by a man half his size.

Bel-Kordharis: Scholar Phoenix King. Made the White Tower of Hoeth.

Morvael: Called the 'Impetuous' by Asarnil, he spent much of his rule embroiled in war with the Druchii, but really it was Mentheus of Caledor leading the forces.

Settra: The Imperishable. First ruler of the great Empire of Nehekhara, and its current eternal undead ruler. He of a Thousand Titles. Endless arrogance and absurd ego.

Nagash: Great Necromancer, made Necromancy by combining Liche Priest traditions with Dhar manipulation techniques he tortured out of Naggarothi Sorceresses. Gets his ass kicked a dozen times but eventually destroys Nehekhara and creates a Phylactery that keeps bringing him back to unlife. Made the Crown of Sorcery and the Nine Books of Nagash, valuable artifacts of ultimate Necromancy.

Alcadizaar: The Conqueror. Kicks Nagash's ass, gets captured then saved by Skaven who gives him the Fellblade that he uses to kill Nagash. Dies from warpstone poisoning and gets washed down a river with the Crown in his hand, body found by Kadon.

Frederick Van Hal: Baron of Sylvania during the Black Plague of 1111, he was a faithful of Morr ordained despite being a noble due to the shortage of manpower from all the death. Warpstone meteorites shower down on Sylvania and the Skaven come out, and his only solution comes in the form of Vashanesh, calling himself Vlad. With his guidance, they craft the Liber Mortis, the ultimate guide to Necromancy for noobs, and he uses it to fight the Skaven until he goes crazy and dies to an apprentice. Actions corrupt Sylvania and dooms his bloodline to endless toil fighting the undead to make up for it.

Vlad von Carstein: Formerly Vashanesh of Nehekhara and one of the First Vampires to drink the Elixir of Life, became Vlad when he journeyed to the Empire to teach Vanhel. Comes back to the Empire later to marry the Count of Sylvania Otto Von Drak's daughter Isabella von Drak and start the Von Carstein bloodline of Sylvania. He corrupts the land under his control for a few hundred years until he enacts a mass ritual to raise the undead to attack the capital of Altdorf and become the Emperor, starting the Vampire Wars. He dies and comes back a couple times thanks to an enchanted ring of his so the Grand Theogonist has Felix Mann, a thief, steal his ring. He's then killed by the Theogonist in a suicide grab through a stake.

Konrad von Carstein: Crazy murderblender, died in the Second Vampire War in Grim Moor.

Mannfred von Carstein: Insane backstabber. Got his army dismantled by the Spell of Unmaking from the Liber Mortis cast by Grand Theogonist Kurt III then got cornered and killed in Hel Fenn in the Third Vampire War by the Stirland Count, causing Sylvania to get folded into Stirland.

He was elected Emperor in 1124 IC but died roughly 25 years later through Skaven assassination. This resulted in the Empire instituting the Conspiracy of Silence so the Skaven don't feel threatened enough to act.

Magnus the Pious: The first Emperor to unite the Empire since the Age of Three Emperors. Magnus was a minor noble of Nuln who ascended to control when he defeated a Tzeentchian cult in his home city, he then presented divine miracle after miracle to the Cults of Sigmar, Ulric, Taal and Manaan and united the Empire, and with the help of Teclis and two of his fellow Archmages, Kislev's forces, the Dwarves, the Empire, and the wide variety of hastily trained human mages, they defeated the forces of the Everchosen Asavar Kul at the Gates of Kislev. Magnus became the Emperor afterwards, legalised magic under the Imperial Articles of Magic, created the Colleges of Magic in Altdorf with Teclis' assistance, folded over the Witch Hunters into a government institution and attempted to secularise it, and made many changes including streamlining the electoral system and offering two electoral votes to the Cult of Sigmar and one electoral votes to the Cults of Ulric, Taal and Rhya. Taal and Rhya refused due to not wanting to be involved in politics, but the Ar-Ulric accepted. Great guy.

Honestly, I think I can make sense of that, actually.

The Old Ones created the world and the elves in a physical, historical sense, while Asuryan and Isha did so in a spiritual, religious sense.

Great work on the character posts @Codex. Some thoughts on what is in there:
  1. I think it is almost assured the chieftain of the Dolgan was speaking Dark Tongue. Arcane Daemonic would have had a much stronger effect on both reality and Mathilde
  2. One interesting note about Kazador was his reaction to the Skaven breeders, that showed a side of him that is rarely seen in the cheerful warrior, a much more thoughtful dwarf underneath
  3. I do not think the bookseller in Barak Var is incredibly influential, at least not by our standards

We rolled a Nat 100 for him, so in the arena of books he is influential.

Would you want to pick a fight with a smelly, stocky looking fellow with chisels for hands if you really didn't have to?
Pretty sure the human in the conversation was a Priest of Verena living in Nuln, if memory serves.

(It was in Tome of Salvation)

(Although, I suppose Elves might view spell casting Priests in the same way? They can also get Marks)

There's also something I came across that might be relevant to Gustav of all people. The Von Jungfreud family control the area of Ubersreik. I'm not sure if Gustav is from that family or not but I assume he's somehow related. Didn't include it since it was a bit too speculative.

Mathilde:
I can't grab the entire Dwarven race by the beards and shake them until they stop looking backward and start looking forward.

Thorgrim:

In Grungni's name, High King Thorgrim Grudgebearer summons the Kings of the Karaz Ankor to a Council of Kings at Karaz-a-Karak to discuss and decide matters of great import to the realm...

Thorgrim surveys the array of crowns before him, a veritable mountain range of precious metals studded with the finest of jewels. "I have been your High King for one hundred and eighty-three years," he intones, "and I was chosen to be that King by the Council of Kings of that time for the promises I made, of reclamation and retribution. In doing so I claimed a crown that would otherwise have gone to King Ungrim or to King Belegar's grandfather. To fulfil those promises, the first act I performed with the Dragon Crown atop my brow was to lead the Throng of Karaz-a-Karak against the greenskins of Black Fire Pass alongside the Throng of Karak Hirn, and on that day we struck out several old and bitter Grudges. But Black Fire Pass has significance beyond being a place where the hated enemy dwelled, and beyond the trade that has passed through it ever since. It was the place where High King Kurgan fought alongside a human Chieftain by the name of Sigmar, and in doing so forever entwined the fates of our two peoples. And while there's many a time that Sigmar's heirs have fallen short of the example their ancestor set, I would call a liar any Dawi who would claim that we have not failed the example set by our own forebears.

"In the time since the battle in Black Fire Pass, I have spilled much blood to strike out many old Grudges, but never since have I done so much to fulfil the other half of the promise I made. In my focus on thinning the Dammaz Kron I have turned my 'Age of Reckoning' into a Slayer Oath for our entire people. But as I sought a noble doom for the Karaz Ankor, its Kings proved beyond any doubt that the honour of the Dawi still lives. With hope and bravery did Karak Norn, Karak Izor, Karak Hirn, and Barak Varr lend Clan Angrund all the might and materiel they could spare, and Karak Eight Peaks is now reclaimed and redeemed, and Karak Azul reconnected to the rest of the realm. With cunning and ingenuity did Zhufbar and Karak Kadrin devise a way to send an expedition to investigate the fate of fallen Karag Dum, and in doing so found a way to rescue Karak Vlag from the clutches of Chaos. And even as I speak great canals are being dug to link the waters of Zhufbar and Barak Varr with the rivers of the Empire. I sing the death-song for an Empire that has not been so large and interconnected since the Time of Woes. I act as Grimnir striking out alone into the northern wastes, when I should be Grungni leading his people into a golden future!

"No more. For the first time in three thousand years, there is a Dwarfhold anchoring four of the five navigable passes through our mountains. If we had all five, we would be in a position to reach agreements with the Umgi nations to guarantee the safety of travellers and the vigilance against threats from the east, in exchange for a portion of the wealth that passes through our mountains and promises of mutual support against significant threats. But we cannot yet claim to rule the mountains that our Ancestors left to us. So in the coming years, mercenary forces from Barak Varr will work to secure the western approach to Mad Dog Pass, while Watchtower-Clans who have been living in the Grey Mountains for millennia will re-establish themselves in their ancient homes with every assistance from Karaz-a-Karak. And when sufficient forces have been gathered, I will personally lead an attack to retake Mount Silverspear and return it to the control of Clan Gunnisson. As we all know, it fell to the greenskins during the early centuries of the Time of Woes in what is now known as the Silver Road Wars. What few remember is that part of the reason it was lost is that an ancient wonder from the time of the Ancestor Gods that watched over the Silver Road was blinded by those tumultuous times.

"But now..." High King Thorgrim Grudgebearer spreads his arms, and each of the jewels inset on the walls begins to glow. "The Eyes of Grimnir will open once more." With a wave of illumination, an image projects from each one of the thousands of jewels, each showing a different part of a long, rocky road through the mountains. The images change after a few seconds, and then there's a low tone as one becomes framed in red light, and the image grows until it centers on a band of Goblins riding wolves along the road. Another tone sounds, and another image is framed in red, this time warning of a small group of Orcs on a mountainside peering over a rocky barrier at the road below. As more tones sound, the High King's smile grows. "That which is wrong with the world that we cannot fix with the blades of our axes, we shall surely rebuild."
