Since I've re-read the quest, excluding sidestories and apocrypha, if Frederick doesn't become a God by the end of his death, then I'll eat my hat.
God? No.

Saint like figure? Probably. Even if it's only in Ostland, or the Trident region. I can imagine people making a quick prayer to him before doing something bold or reckless.

They're called Venerated Souls

In Warhammer. Occasionally the word Saint shows up, but very rarely and with none of the IRL significance compared to the official title of Venerated Soul.

Edit: and even that is no guarantee for Frederick. Godhood is out of the question.

Freddy might become a Venerated Soul for the province of Ostland itself , like a cultural/nationalistic version of a Venerated Soul rather than a religious one ascribed to one specific god , because Freddy is the idealized epitome of what it means to be an Ostlander in deed , manner ,character and achievement

The thing about gods of course, is that there's sort of a tension between like, Black Library/Army Book gods where there's a few and they're all very important and big and special and then there's the RPG where like the general implication is that you can't throw a stone without hitting some village's minor deity of the local river or something.

Freddy is definitely not going to become the first kind of god, he's just pissed off too many people.

I could see him becoming the second for Ostland, except Torroar says no and what he says goes.

This is very much the way historical polytheism( at the very least greek and roman ) worked. Part 4 of the linked also has some interesting things about deification of humans (esp. rulers)

The Monkey Slayers [Race: Human] [Origin: Grand Cathay] [Description: a collection of irregular Cathayan shock troops supposedly from southwestern Cathay, near the Mountains of Heaven. Veterans of countless skirmishes against the monkey-folk that inhabit the mountains, they are armored with only light padding and tower shields relying instead upon their mobility, ferocity and their skill with their axes, hand halberds and throwing halberds to carry the day.] [Numbers: 120 Cathayan shock troops.]

The Yaoguai Hunters [Race: Human] [Origin: Grand Cathay] [Description: A team of Cathayan mercenaries who specialize in hunting monsters. Armed with traps, bows, tiger forks and knives and armored with leather padding they have proved their worth throughout the Old World.] [Numbers: 50 Cathayan monster hunters.]

The Shields from the South [Race: Human] [Origin: Grand Cathay] [Description: A company of two hundred mercenaries from the southern reaches of Cathay, wearing some of the oddest armor any Old World paymaster has ever seen. Made of "Téng" some strange sort of cane native to the jungles of that region, it is much stronger than one would expect, though quite flammable. In spite of this (or perhaps because of it) they've found ready employers since arriving in the Old World. [Numbers: 200 rattan spearmen]

The Shore Stomers [Race: Human] [Origin: Grand Cathay] [Description: With the end of the war in the Far East many mercenaries have found themselves unemployed, the Shore Stormers amongst them. A hundred and fifty marines armed with one handed blades modeled upon Nipponese examples, and armored in light brigandine, as well as large cane shields which the Shore Stormers claim to be resistant to gunfire. Having proved their worth storming various pirate strongholds in the Cavorna Archipelago they're in high demand by those troubled by pirates.] [Numbers: 149 mercenary Cathayan marines, 1 company commander He Wong the Sea Serpent.]

The Iron Towers [Race: Human] [Origin: Grand Cathay] [Description: Fourscore towering Cathayan lancers clad in heavy lamellar for both man and mount. Battle hardened by the war against the Nipponese, now available for the paymasters of the Old World.] [Numbers: 79 mercenary Cathayan superheavy cavalry, one company commander Gāng Jin.]

S'a blanket no on these, sorry. I thought I made it quite clear throughout the Cathayan interludes that they are constantly and direly in need of manpower because of their quantitatively larger use of them, mentionings of whole armies being wiped out, constant incursions from the north, west, and south by way of the Bastion/Ogres/Hobgoblin Khanate/Internal Rebellions/Naga. The warring is never over in the Far East. Never. The Legion of An was a rapidly assembled independent force outside of the depleted Tiger Armies which were in turn themselves so depleted they could not spare the men for the Nippon invasion.

All of these people, if they do exist, are most definitely still employed by the Celestial Empire.

La Excelentisima Escuela de Destreza de Gonzalo Perez [Race: Human] [Origin: Estalia] [Description: Having narrowly survived the Chaos Invasion of Estalia, Gonzalo Perez gained an scarred visage and the belief that true mastery of the sword could only be attained through constant battle. In the years since the Diestro has travelled the battlefields of the Old World alongside a cadre of students, imparting and furthering his skills against all manner of foes.] [Numbers: 50 Diestro Apprentices, 25 Diestros, 1 Maestro Diestro Gonzalo Perez]

So the Celestial Empire ever go to the old world to hire some mercenaries for there never ending wars?
The difficulty of making the journey at all would make this a chancy proposition. First, you have to get your recruiters across Central Not!Asia with the wealth required to hire the mercs, which means they have to be escorted since they are carrying free money and made out of meat from the point of view of the locals who regularly attack caravans. Then you have to come back, feeding and supporting those mercenaries along with, probably, the same caravan guards you went out with.

It's gonna take a long time and be expensive, and sometimes something goes wrong and everyone dies and you lose all the money and get no mercs and even lose the soldiers you originally sent out.

So it'd be a crapshoot and very often you'd just lose your initial investment or not bring back enough fighters to justify the loss of available warriors while you set up the expedition to go recruit the mercs.

I'm sure there are Old World mercs who've gotten that far and participated- after all, the twins could make it, and Johanna made it there when she was younger and human, and so clearly others could too. But I doubt Cathay goes out of its way to bring more, any more than we systematically try to recruit people from Ind or Cathay over here where we are hard pressed.

Acceptable, but I cannot canonize them until after the current turn is concluded due to the War of Bitter Ice nominally being meant to have scooped up most all mercenary groups outside of a handful of truly iron-clad contracts.

Because the Romanovs were incredibly wealthy thanks to things like mass use of slave labor, land ownership, a massively successful trade mission a while back, and Alexandra's time in Tomb Raider: Cold Shadows, historical generational wealth, foreign trade relations, and adding a vast swathe of historical foreign enemies to her citizen base. And the Bohka with their sundry Bohka supportering Boyars and Druzhina and their mass use of slave labor, land ownership, historical generational wealth, inter-trade with one another, and massive taxes on their citizen base.

So make sure to remember these guys when I say merc creations are open again.

wasn't the historical generational wealth for the most consumed by the great war against chaos and its aftermath reconstruction and purification efforts ?

Generational wealth isn't just a pile of gold, it's, hard, money generating assets, like active farms, ports, mines, and manufactoriums. It isn't the fastest wealth generator, but it is reliable, which is why nobles have owned those things for generations.

Addendum: historical generational wealth of the Merchant Princes of Erengrad after Kattarin purged them and absorbed the majority of their wealth and holdings.

But also,

^is correct

but weren't a good chunk of all of them either burned to the ground ,utterly ruined or corrupted cause off the chaos armies during the great war against chaos ?

Ah, pretty sure Erengrad mostly came out of the great war mostly unharmed , got it

[CANON] Excerpt from a Lecture by Professor Adolf von Heydrich of the Department of Natural History at the University of Altdorf regarding the Beasts of the Forest of Shadows - iggyfan

Excerpt from a Lecture by Professor Adolf von Heydrich of the Department of Natural History at the University of Altdorf regarding the Beasts of the Forest of Shadows.

Weighing roughly ninety five pounds on average, with a wingspan of roughly twelve feet, giant shadow bats are the largest species of bats to be found in the province of Ostland. Named after the Forest of Shadows they inhabit, giant shadow bats are widely believed to be the living stock from which the Everliving created his cauldrons of fell bats. This has done nothing for their reputation among the inhabitants of Ostland, who generally regard them as a public menace.

Largely nocturnal creatures giant shadow bats are said to possess excellent senses of smell and sight. Regarding the former, they are said to be able to smell blood (or ripening fruit) from half a mile away, which when combined with their ability to fly allows them to easily track down their prey The latter self-evidently true for they are easily able to navigate their densely forested homes while flying. The claims of certain Amber Magisters that they are somehow able to navigate through a highly developed sense of hearing should be dismissed as the absurdity that it clearly is.

Giant shadow bats are omnivorous and though they have been known to prey upon animals as large as a deer, they show a considerable fondness for fruit. Indeed, the second most common complaint the peasantry of Ostland have about the creatures is that they will periodically attack orchards in great cauldrons, devouring entire harvests (the most common complaint naturally being that they are servants of vampires). During these events the bats become much more territorial, attacking any who attempt to dislodge them.

Though a few … "enterprising" individuals have made attempts to tame giant shadow bats, these experiments have universally ended in failure, sometimes catastrophically so such as the Oesterholz Bloodbath in 2019.

Still giant shadow bats are not without their uses, even for those who are not necromancers. Their flesh is edible and tastes like a mix of pork and chicken, though gamier than either, with a texture like a cross of chicken and beef. Their bones are valued by carvers and there is a widespread belief amongst the folk of Ostland that a charm made from such can ward off fell bats. The skin of their wing membranes can be used to manufacture a form of leather that is both reasonably durable and exceptionally supple. However, I feel that I should warn any enterprising individuals that members of the Order of the Silver Hammer tend to get rather … twitchy when they discover individuals in possession of giant shadow bat corpses.

If anyone wants to make use of this creature for their own WHFB quest/fic, feel free to do so.

So, I have recently watched a video on the so called longitude problem, which is to say an issue with maritime navigation pertaining to lack of a good way of determining longitude while at sea. Said problem had been solved in two ways, either by usage of the moon or by making more precise and reliable clocks with the latter way ultimately proving superior.

So, that got me thinking about this quest. While our navy rarely goes into the open sea far enough for the longitude issue to become a true killer, getting a way to deal with it would still enhance our navigational capacity.
With that in mind what are the chances Barak Varr navy already has those high precision clocks and will be willing to share them with us? Or, alternatively, what are the chances of us getting Cult of Manaan and Celestial college as well as what more mudane astronomers the Empire has cooperating on creating the needed Lunar charts and instruments? Or, hell, why not both?

Good joke.

Cult secrets.

The Empire had sailors and astronomers for two and half millenia and before that some of its tribes presumably also operated ships. Why do you think this has not been done already to the best of their ability? Don´t we have enough AP hell to dig into systems with marginal utility when they could´ve already feasibly been resolved in-universe without Torroar adding onto his already prodigious pile of systems and improvements to implement?

Additionally, this is literally why most ports have priests of manaan and voyages that go into open oceans have Manaanite superpriests iirc called Albatrosses. Just assume that ship navigation has been solved as best as it can without reliable clockwork, and if anyone can discover the connection between that and sea navigatibility, it would be Anna, who has spent her life working with it, having some flash of inspiration out of the blue.

We ordered (and iirc received) a water clock from Cathay, so that's probably the best path forward as far as clocks go. Likely would need major tweaking though, due to the whole 'don't shake it too much' issue.
