Okay, some big things I took out of the end of this update. Eldyra's future depends heavily on Freddy not breaking in the slightest; assuming she isn't already broken beyond repair at the failure we just had.

And Natasha is being forced to mainline constant intense agony until Freddy dies or we kill Alyssa. And that is making her furious. She is, from her perspective, rightfully pissed at Hultressa for abandoning her husband in his biggest time of need, and I imagine any plans she's in charge of will be much more indiscriminate than what we've been doing prior.

I am not sure this would be sufficient. Even if she droppoed dead this instant the poison would linger. It would take a lot of time or magical healing to get rid of it. And honestly, given that it is derived from 2 greater demons I genuinely doubt Freddy would be in shape to fight until extensive healing rituals or Everqueen's personal attention.

Chaotic poison. Can probably be burned out with pure Ghyran, though as this is Freddie we are talking about a stupid amount of ice magic to freeze it into nothing is also a possibility.

Regardless the poison is nasty, but not irreversible even if it was meant to be. I also suspect this was the only dose of it she actually had.

Off topic question:
How would diffrent Dynasty membes deal with dogs? (ya know if we embraced humans best friends)
What I gatther would be bet of : Artur getting a runner dog to play with horses, Anna would train a bomb sniffer, While Natasha would probably embrace the most bear-like dog she could find (like those mammoth shepards from russia.

anyone feels like expanding, cause I was planing to ask anyway, before I noticed we got a post today , which I'm yet to read...

IF we get out with everyone we will probably have brownie points with Everqueen. This time probably good idea to use them.

Frederick and Ungrim vs. Skulltaker by Dmitry Brushray, Commissioned by pucflek New
So, originally, this was supposed to only be posted on 20th january, as a sort of celebratory gift to 10th(!?!) anniversary of the quest.

Given that current update made me sad, and sharing cool stuff makes me happy, i have found myself unable to hold onto it for that long.

Frederick and Ungrim taking on the Skulltaker, one of the defining moments of the quest. By ever reliable Dmitry Brushray

@torroar Happy early anniversary and much luck going forward!

I was already worried when Torroar stated that he was close to finishing for the "better or the worse".

However, while things are quite bad right now, mainly for Frederick and Eldyra, they're far from lost.

Basically everyone else (Johanna, Sadrina, Kerillian, Hultressa) managed to escape, and also have a group of escaped asur slaves to help now. The ark also is in utter anarchy, and Maghda might still attempt somethings else yet while underwater.

I think I'm done reading for now at least, it was already dragging on and now all that tension and build up his just stalled out leaving a whole lot of nothing except disappointment. I have always felt this quest was too dice dependent for narrative and this just confirms it.
Maybe like with the the karak I'll come back when its done end skim through the updates.

Being dice dependent is the nature of basically all warhammers quests, which can lead to situations like this.

Remember how bad Karak Ungor was for Frederick and his kids? (I don't envy those who had to follow all those developments per post)

Things on the ark always could've gone horribly wrong and we were already lucky to get this far. In fact, Alyssa still is in a weaker position than she was at the start.

I do get what you're feeling, and understand if you want to take a step back from the story, but that's just because Torroar is so good at making us get attached to his characters.

She's in a weaker position, yes but so are we. No advantage of secrecy, no Hultressa and we're back to step 1 with regards to having to rescue people except now the druchii know what we're up to.

I'm sticking with the quest but I'm just tired of being on this godsdamned rock and it doesn't look like we're leaving any time soon

I play enough of the ttrpg to know how much dice can effect things, that does not mean the man behind the currtain cannot alter things, change narrative beats speed up the process and glaze over things, when people are getting exhausted.

It is not my choice to make and I respect Torroars right to run this as he wishes irregardless of my wish for him to use a heavier and more narrative hand for these extended turn sequences.

I don't really care about the characters distress as a negative thing, just the complete and utter lack of progress, I think I would rather Freddy have died than be where we are now.

To be frank, if we fail here, it's probably game over. Brain Wounder is on the Ark. If it's permanently lost, there goes the right of our province to legally exist. And now that we're back where we started, we have infinitely more chances to fail. No pressure, I guess.

I Faith she comes back
I am not so certain. Everyone in the group has good reasons to distrust and hate her. The one guy she build some understanding with is completly indisposed. So even if she comes back, teamwork would suffer.

Worse yet, we are on a much stricter time limit, between Freddy & Eldyra being tortured, our group no longed having reliable food supply and Alyssa now going for a much more straightforward way of securing control, via just murdering everyone who isn't in the cult
just the complete and utter lack of progress,
Not just lack. Undoing of a lot of progress we made. Something I genuinely do not remember happening in Ungor.
