huh, I figured we would have had a vote for our successor before this happened. god speed admiral, enjoy your retirement.

on another note. while not required by forum rules.. the thread is over.. 800 pages ?!?
wow, thats a lot...
ah, anyway, like I said, while it is not required, the thread has a lot of posts and this post is a distinct end of an era. perhaps after a final vote to pick the successor, we start the next era with a brand new thread? let this thread serve as a memoirs for Vitalia Yukiko Kahurangi.

Current Resource Stockpile:
Research Points: 41rp
(2311.Q4.M3)

Annual Income*:
Research Points: 129rp (2309.Q4)

229 / 8 = 28 rem 5

26 Tech Teams Activated, 1 Boost Applied
11rp carries over, 218 used

So, on another topic, is there any desire to increase the number of research teams we have over the next few years? We have a number of T3 techs that are sitting idle, or will be soon as earlier techs finish, and it would be nice to use our research points on working on the xp of a new team, rather than the relatively more expensive 'wrap up' boosts we started last year. Of course, the later option is still very useful, but I'd rather see the broader approach continue to grow.

IMO, until we get "10 / 60 Type-14 Duotronic Mainframe (Data Analysis Center III) (-0.5 RP required to activate Tech Team (7.5))" and more overall RP income, not really. We're already at risk of not having sufficient RP to activate all our teams next research phase.

Hmm. Given we're only at 170 RP at year end, fair enough. Even if the above yearly is from 2309, Ferasa only gained a few rps, and Rigel gained...5? Or so. Although, regarding the Duotronic Mainframe, at +4, it's going to take a long time to finish a sixty point item, especially when there's a pair of them.

No way. There's too much stuff in this thread I reference all the time. Having to juggle two threads would only make it harder. Certainly we're still nothing compared to Embers in the Dusk and it's 2400 pages.

;_;7 Admiral Kahurangi. Your service was exemplary. I am extraordinarily proud of you.

Bah, we'll catch up soon enough.

I seem to remember that Vol Chad's captain's logs (and he has had a number of them, when Sappho happened to respond to events in its sector) were always quite professional, actually.

I'd say Kuharangi doesn't mark the end of an era, so much as mark the beginning of one.
Indeed. The beginning, really, of the 24th Century Federation, an age of expansion and influence, full of rapidly advancing science and a changing, egalitarian culture, really the closest thing to a Golden Age in all of canon Trek. And it starts with Kahurangi, and depends upon her successors. Let's not let her down, eh?

I'd say she marks a renaissance. In some ways she's a revival of a Starfleet that had lost its way badly under Rogers, in other ways she's at or near the tail end of the TOS-influenced era, and in other ways she's setting in motion the trends that carry Starfleet forward into the TNG era.

Which was sort of the point of this quest. ;)

Well, we went from four Excelsiors to about ten or eleven, the Explorer Corps has roughly doubled in size, we've built or are in the process of building about ten modern cruisers even naster than the Cardassian ones that everything below explorer-class was running scared of five years ago, we're modernizing the escort force so that it's at least sort of dragged into the 24th century. Starfleet has located something like a dozen mining and research colonies if not more, four new species have been persuaded to join the newly active Federation, causing it to roughly double in size, research is advancing by leaps and bounds...

I think that's most of the highlights.
