cool. please choose from any of the council members that underfunded our tech development to the point where we cant even detect their ships while launching torpedoes.

We literally could not have more ships in that zone, so any politician pushing us on this can Fuck Right Off.

That... is actually a good question. What are our other engineering teams doing right now? Why can't one of them start working on the problem? I get that the repair time is six months with the support of an engineering team and eighteen months without- but what stops us from pulling another team off an operation elsewhere in our space, spending three months flying it out to Collie, and getting the job done in nine months?

All of the options available have a cost at the moment its a choice between reducing the effectiveness of the proposed offensive or paying the political cost for delaying the mining colony rebuiding. The requested option will also have a political cost but may be cheaper that a straight delay the mining colony rebuild for a year.

If I was running this quest, which I'm not, I'd say that diverting your colony building operation will have political ramifications for both the delays induced (Colonists were already packing their bags, time lost in transit, etc) and in the Council for the amount of shuffling and priority changing going on.

    I am undertaking a full security audit of all procedures and systems related to sensor technology, convened as Task Force Whistler. The Task Force has been co-sanctioned by myself and Chief of Staff Uhura, and will be chaired by Rear Admiral Revak. Commodore sh'Gannan, Starfleet Inspector-General, is participating personally. Vice Admiral Eaton has detached some of her finest sensor specialists to operate as liaisons with Project Blue, a multi-body team from the Ship Design Bureau and a number of research institutes, who are looking into the attacks on Collie from the technology side. From Starfleet Intelligence, teams from Office 15 (Internal Affairs), and many assets from Rear Admiral klasch Fapok's Internal Security Command. Starfleet Tactical's Battle Review Division and Tiger Teams are also contributing assets and liaisons.

    Effectively, understanding the events that led to the surprise assault on Collie II is the preeminent point of focus for Starfleet Intelligence, and the Ship Design Bureau. If this was the result of compromised security, we will track it down.

    But there might be a chance they might station more on other front so an enemy of my enemy is a friend plus the numbers is to match what they think is the threat level of the Federation.

    Reasoning:
    1) I'd like to have combat bonuses against our two main enemies in the GBZ, because I think that the fighting there will stretch on longer than a single quarter. After all, the fight with the Sydraxians took longer than a year.
    2) tell me about the shiiiiiiiiiiiips
    3) We definitely need to know the scope of the Horizon problem.
    4) Romuls have been up to some shit abroad in recent years - the Licori a few years back, the Sydraxians more recently. Consequently, I'd like to update the Diplomatic Posture Report.
    5) I want to know how our campaign affects Cardassian fleet strength in the GBZ (and in general)
    6) I'm also curious about what the Cardassians are getting up to on the diplomatic front.
    7) Let's find out about Klingon shipyards, now that we can.

    I want to learn about these refits ASAP, and I figure the tactics report is also valuable.

    This is the report we've had the longest since we asked about it.

    Harmony of Horizon
    A fleet strength report seems most critical.

    Klingon
    This is a report we've never been able to get before. Let's grab it!

    General
    It's been 9 years since we got a Romulan diplomatic posture report.
    Asking about GBZ faction projects and Cardassian fleet strength.
    I always, always want to get a progress report on the biggest war in this part of the galaxy. You can never be sure when things will change.
    Might as well grab a Knen tactics report.
    I don't know if we'll get much, but maybe we can get something on the Dylaarians through a third party like the ISC.
