Soooo is there going to be an option to tell the Burudin that Snorri solved Durins consternation or is it just going to be revealed next time he meets one of them in person?
Man, when you take into account everything Snorri has done for Dwarf kind in this quest and all the improvements compared to the original timeline can't help but think that his back must be awfully sore from how much he has been carrying the Dwarven race. Like if he ended up in the original timeline and managed to see how things turned out by the end times seems like he would be furious. Only half joking here, as in seems like he would be genuinely angry at how much he has been carrying his people from his timeline because he genuinely expected more of them to not need one single dwarf like him to do everything he has done.

Yeah it is. FOr set purposes only five of the pieces will count (see the FAQ info threadmark), and tbh I've spent awhile working on the designs for these things - I don't want to feature creep to add a weapon on the right claw, and I don't want to add something that won't add into the Set.

Small updated. Included Windsight reductions to most of the research options. Anything that was updated and is new already had it included in the calc.
 
idea, true death of daemons leave behind void stones right? so if we see it happening would it give us the hint we need to make rune of daemon killing?
 
I had the idea of forging a bunch of surge protector pillars for the waystones in fueebdky territory to prevent malekith's plans fron having consequences in the rest of norsca. Surge Protector, Stabilization, Warding/Purification/something?

or just a really big fuse breaker meant to channel it all into it causing it to purposely explode and redirect the energy into the sky?
 
So, a couple of questions so I can gauge the intentions of the thread.

First, the plan is to drop the Windsight Reveal at the next Grand Enclave, yeah? Will the Windsight Rune and associated Rune Combo also be distributed at that time? And what is the plan regarding the research we've already done?

Second, what is the plan regarding Dwarf Hogwarts? Every time I think of it, I think it's almost purpose built to be an acceptable place for mass-research of the inner mechanics of runecrafting via Windsight runes. It's safe enough to store said knowledge, to conduct said knowledge, and the sharing of said knowledge between different researchers is actively encouraged. If there was anywhere for the greater Runesmith's Guild to consider an acceptable spot for such a research project (and boy howdy, it's definitely a bit beyond what just Snorri can manage) it'd be there. But is that the plan? Or does the thread intend to just wing it?

Yorri tells you they never will be a safe bet, but you can at least try to make it safer. Besides, you still dont know how they work, and your work requires that you know how they work. So by Grungni, you're going to figure it out.

This stuff is why I'm asking. And, I get it, a lot of dwarfs would maim themselves in pursuit of knowledge of this magnitude, so it's better not to give them the chance.

Personally I think it depends on how fast we're planning on doing windsight part 2 and if it actually unlocks windsight without having to maim yourself or just starts us down the chain to do it. If we're planning on doing it soonish we may just keep it to Yorri and the apprentices until then.

That was the general idea as I understood it, however-

There's no option to do anything like that and it seems Snorri is not willing to release it to anyone except Karstah and Yorri until we do ESP pt 2. So my thought at this point is do ESP pt 2, release it to Alric, trusted Runelords here in Drakk, and the Burudin + Brotherhood of Dron.

That way its across multiple lineages and will also have multiple sources to teach from so we stem the absolute Giga Tide of runesmiths that'd choke Khazagar like a pelican trying to eat a baby seal once we release it publicly. We really really need other teachers for it before we release it publicly.
 
Couple research tasks have been brought down to one or two actions to complete for those making plans.

Gain ???, possibly progress to Mysterious Mystery Cauldron and Mysterious Mystery Barrel. A sword that cuts through Gromril with an unnerving amount of ease. Studying it will be more about trying to recreate what it does through a Rune, but a bit of material study isn't off the table either given that you have two broken ones to work with as well.

This is something we can do to try and make progress on the Rune Metal.

@ConfusedCanuck we can Start Anoqeyan now, which sets it up to be completed by three AP on turn 61. Which is very convenient for us.
 
It very much sounds like the storms coming so this turn is all about Skaud prep. Next turn we forge. It's a shame we can't do the rune research but we can hit it and anoqeyan after Skaud's done.

Also damn, akazit is only 3ap, we can bang that out with simple ap procs if it goes into the odd materials easy.
 
Just for the record, I think we tell the brotherhood about solving Durin's consternation. Let the one who is soon to pass tell his ancestors that a path may be found?
Just for the record, the dying Elder is a part of the Burudin, not the Brotherhood of Dron.

Edit: Me copying the start of your post ("Just for the record") was a complete accident or subconscious. It was not meant mockingly, just want to make sure that's clear.

I have a slightly alternative plan to bungie, wherin instead of doing anoqeyan and KKR, we compress Deep gate and simplify it so it is available to build the heart of Skaud right after Skaud itself. Additionally, instead of Karstah doing Khaz stuff, instead she finally studies the Albion sword. She has the same traits as Snorri so it'll finish in 2ap for her as well.
