On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

I suppose the first logical step to unlocking the crossed off stuff on the hammer is figuring out the Runes on it? It's not…super critical, just a topic of discussion.
Thungi is going to spend the next 500 years staring holes at us from the Glittering Realm when we keep ignoring the opportunity to investigate the hammer for some other shiny that comes up.

Secret hidden cost of refusal, we will miss the Conclave Heir Royale
Everyone put your bets on the Heir Rumble, I put 3 AP on Kazador!

How do we make Snorri more swole? Do we just put him in a combat scenarios? Downgrade his gear so he has improve?
Training, like Karstah does with Dreng. Maybe with a Master rune or Brotherhood to accelerate the gainz.

Snorri probably last trained for combat when he was still a beardling, before being chosen as an apprentice.

He's had runes to make up for it since then.

I am stepping away from this thread to get my thoughts in order again.

At least one choice is made. What that choice ACTUALLY is idk yet given the varied reasons and opinions of this thread. IDK if I'm gonna give you more granularity for some things or not.

Im making no decisions like this.

Wow, that voting process did not feel fair or satisfying at all. I mean, it felt like it was railroaded between two different extremes in the first place, and the new threadmark heavily in favor of one option at the last minute and then a close not long after didn't help.

At least it is behind us? Honestly, the whole thing feels like it's not indicative of what the thread actually wants to do if given the choice.

EDIT: Whoops. I wish I had refreshed and read what soul said right before I posted this.

Awawawawa did we make the right or wrong choice!?!? Im dying to know!
We don't know.

That's kinda the biggest source of stress we have at this level of influence.

Back when we started we were just a master with a couple of apprentices and our biggest goal was the survival of them and our people.

Then as we grew those responsibilities grew until we get votes like this one where people are legitimately debating the fate of the entire guild.

Shit like this is why master Yorri all but left society. Unlike us he saw this coming.

Also there's that whole mysterious past thing he's not getting into and that another quest on this site is making me question. There's only one dwarf I can think of that fucked up so badly he was stricken from all memory but it couldn't be him. Could it?

Just have Snorri go out to deal with the overgrown one-eyed swamp reptiles.

It's been a while since the last turn, but we've got some grudges to strike from the book.

That was a pretty fun vote, same time next week? :V

All seriousness though, I'd love to see everyone's reactions to us showing up to the conclave with Thungni's hammer

Like, Snorri's already known for being the weirdest weirdo, but now he's the weirdest weirdo with Thungni's hammer.

Vragni's gonna have a conniption.

This definetly feels like something that won't end up being so binary as vote says right now. Perhaps later the runelords end up voting on it or somesuch.

While that makes sense. We don't have any actions for that.
i suspect after Snorri studies the hammer, we'll get a "hit the gym" option if swolness is actually what blockes us from the rest of the features.

[ ] [Difficult] The Mind of Things Pt. 6: [Cost: (20 -2) =18 actions] Master of the Odd will proc. You have managed to create a Rune that, on the whole, can transfer skills and experience from one Dwarf to another. An impressive feat, and yet one not without flaw. It is skill imparted without context, which must still be earned. You can do more, you can do better. True comprehension, transference of that which makes a skill, experience; or in other words, the wisdom to temper knowledge.
Though we might want to make something that copies actual skill and cheat....

Otherwise, it will take too long to make up for skipping a thousand years of axe days.

Hmm. Ok, i would have preferred a bigger lever, but i guess we will just have to add more weight.

Now,how do we unlock the hammer fully..

Well this was to decide Snorri's thoughts on the matter, not the ripple effects nor the reactions of others. With this vote, Snorri has decided he does not want the title of Heir. Whether his actions and circumstances lead people to try and call him that anyway is a whole other matter, but he does not want it.
