On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Alrighty then!
Given that we only have one current project which can use Brotherhood Of Dron favour ( The Rune Metal Pt. 6, Soul Of The Earth and Master Of The Odd proc, 10 progress remaining ), a little bit of math can be used to reveal probabilities of one, two, or three turn completion.
Spending 0 favor:
- 2 AP each on three separate turns results in 2 overflow.
- 2 AP on one turn and 3 AP on a second turn results in 1 Overflow
- 5 AP on one turn results in 1 overflow
Spending 10 favor:
- 2 AP each on two separate turns and 1 AP on a third turn: 50% chance of completion
Spending 20 favor:
- 2 AP each on two separate turns and 1 AP on a third turn: 75% chance of completion
- 2 AP each on two separate turns: 25% chance of completion
- 3 AP on one turn and one AP on a second turn: 25% chance of completion
- 4 AP on one turn: 25% chance of completion
Spending 30 favor:
- 2 AP each on two separate turns and 1 AP on a third turn: 87.5% chance of completion
- 2 AP each on two separate turns: 50% chance of completion
- 3 AP on one turn and one AP on a second turn: 50% chance of completion
- 3 AP on one turn: 12.5% chance of completion
- 4 AP on one turn: 50% chance of completion

This suggests that there are two good opening turns:
- 2 AP and 10 Favor. Win the coin flip, 2 more AP and 10 Favor is either completion or 1 AP off. Lose the coin flip, 3 AP still finishes it with overflow.
- 3 AP and 20 Favor. Win both coin flips, 1 AP is completion. Lose either or both coin flips, 2 AP is still completion with some amount of overflow.

Not adding any of this to my post with various Plans in Table form, mostly because I'd like to make a big change to it all at once after we sees any new research or epiphanies from Whitebeard's gear and resolve any other Brotherhood stuff.

I don't think Whitebeard's gear is of immediate relevance to us. I mean sure, like all the works of the Ancestors it is likely to be interesting and open up new avenues, but we do not need new avenues, what we need right now is to finish some of the old ones in good time.

Note that we can spend Cult of Valaya favour on this as well, to get a lot more than three coin flips.

The optimal approach might be to spend something like 90 favour and no actions for an expected 4.5 progress, and then in subsequent turns choose how many actions to spend.

I think this is about right yeah, at the end of the day the rolls means we do not know how many actions those favor points are worth so it's better to spend them, then fill out what is left if we want ti finish them with the minimal amount of AP spent, and thus the maximum to other actions where we cannot spent favor

He's been preparing for centuries for people to try and loot his tomb and now he's pretty upset that they're here for another reason.
"Ptra's blood, do you fools have any idea how much it took to set this up?"

It burns to admit it, but the look of confusion on the Doombull's face is an excellent reflection of your own as the gilded...thing that peeled itself off from what you thought was a Shrine to Chaos rises from the ground, staff and flail in hand.

"How much to get the Necropolis Knights built? The chariots painted? The Ushtabi ready? And it really took you this long to get in here to find the Axe of Aseph?"

"Um, actually," Leandre says, "we're here for the Shard of Hashut."

"Lass I would pay you to stop talking."

"NOT EVEN HERE FOR ME?" His voice has gone high in its rage. "THAT DOES IT SMITING YOU ALL!"

Master Rune of Thungni's Glitter: Aye, much has been made of Thungni's Judgement, much of it negative. But if you ask His direct students He was soft, for a wizened, ornery old Dwarf, one more inclined to see what could be than what was, and this Rune reflects that by allowing the bearer to see how they can improve the Runes as they work on them, with a glittering light shining on it.

"That's pretty good Beardling, but might I suggest a touch less force as you pound out the edge?"

Almost forgot to post this
Huh. Great minds think alike, you stealing my notes? :^V I was having trouble with the name so i tabled it, but thank you for reminding me! I named it the Master Rune of Thungni's Eye. :^)
Master Rune of the Sapphire Hunter: A strange variant of the Master Rune of Flight. Tossed out into the skies, it will hunt down the most dangerous foe and strike them in a small but potent explosion that at the least will deeply disorientate them.

I assume the weapon survives, or at least Ill make it the case because unrecoverable ammunition with Runes is nogood. Added.

Just realized I forgot to do any fluff for Sapphire Hunter, I'll get that edited in when I get back home.

I feel like Snorri would vibe with this. It'd be like a hostile force showing up to his lovingly-prepared lethally-defended workshop-town, only they're not even there for the riches/Runes/materials, but to beat each other up. All that hard work you kinda want to see pay off in the most satisfying of ways, and then nothing.

Like spending hours getting your minis perfect for a match you've been anticipating, and then the other guy has to cancel.

What a letdown.

Edit: Watch Snorri just start comparing notes with him over how they structured the defenses and deathtraps, even.
"Aye, but what's the point of a pit trap without the spikes?"
"That is why I had ravenous Scarab colonies cultured behind those holes."
"Ah, I see. A little bit of primal terror is always a good substitute. But have you considered..."

All the other generals just kind of staring at these two. Like watching two introverts suddenly start vibing energetically with each other.

I mean eventually the only peer of the old as dirt Snorri will be the people buried in the dirt that can dig themselves out :V
There would also be the elves. Snorri in this AU would actually be older than almost every major elf character save maybe morathi (and the elf god incarnations like ariel and orion depending on end times canonicity) IIRC.

Penpals are the best way to have a social life while being a hermit. Too bad that Snorri doesn't write often enough. Maybe we should work on that.

I LOVE this quest, probably my favorite story right now :)

Questions:
1. Is there a list of completed actions and their results to refresh my memory?
2. Will we get to play with Ithilmar or Oathgold at any point? Is Oathgold even a thing in this quest?
3. Can we see Karstah's inventory anywhere?
4. Does Karstah research things in her free time even if she doesn't have anything of note in her inventory? Like making new runes or whatever.
5. Any chance action descriptions could include what they are about? The current names and descriptions are very nice, but when I stop reading for a while it's very easy to forget what the actions are about. For a hot second I thought "The movement of things" was about golems moving or something.

1. Nope, just reading through the updates.
2. Oathgold exists, it was used as a reagent for a rune in Snorri's current gear. I want to say in Zhargal?
3. Check back through the updates, and see what we've given her I guess?
4. I imagine that she does. She takes after Snorri a great deal, and he does a lot of research.
5. Action descriptions are in the posts that start each turn. Turn 49, for example, has them.

Skarrenbakraz is where we used Oathgold.
