I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Snorri has been steadily learning how to have healthier a relationship with his grief over the last little while, from making peace with putting away the gifts his wife gave him to actually acknowledging (slyly and partly) the relationship between him and Karstah. Time to open himself up at least to the possibility of having another partner.

Doesn't make sense, character- or narrative-wise to look for another partner. There's no need for it, at least from what I see of Snorri's current life.

I truly don't understand why people are voting the way they are. Snorri's devotion to the love he lost is an integral part of the character. Why exactly vote against that?

Loving again does nothing to diminish love lost.

More over this is not Snorri going out looking for it, the option itself explicitly says that he may never meet anyone, it merely says he's open to the possibility if it comes up. Which is healthy. I'd like to see what might come up.

Because he is also someone who has gone through a depression spiral about that, and has managed to get himself moving onward, ever onward. If that path lead to a new love life, then so be it.

Closing himself off and giving up on even the (miniscule) chance for a new love is certainly a viable choice, but so is leaving that miniscule gap open with the understanding that Snorri is still open to the idea without being completely shackled by said small chance happening. He has after all gone single for most of his life by now, so he could still continue on with the single life until he goes to the Glittering Realm even with him being open to said possibility.

So your positions are that singular lasting devotion to a lifelong partner and just not wanting anyone else even if they pass is invalid, unhealthy and 'broken'? Good to know.

Freyda will almost assuredly get the Northern Kings to agree to her proposal and with good odds of them agreeing to ideas she considered outside her reach before. There's a thin line between a lot of things. Love and hatred. Power and weakness. But what I've seen from Snorri is not obsession - at least, not 'obsession' relative to Dawi. Snorri is functional. He works towards his goals and better things and the good of all without any difficulty and it's only when he is confronted with the last few mementos the centuries have preserved that he shows the grief of losing someone who was everything to him. Snorri as presented processes his grief and pain well. Further he has shown no need or desire for romantic interaction in and of itself, merely missing her. This is not a failing or a sign of fucking mental instability as you imply.

I mean if it comes to the point of refusal to consider the possibility? Yes.

People connect, it's what we do, closing yourself off from that potential is bad and unhealthy.

Edit: I think this conversation is likely to go pretty far off topic pretty quickly, so I'm just going to drop it.

I'm more concerned about people fully supporting the proposal.
You'd be throwing your weight around in this manner, and it will show. With Silverbrand in Ornsmotek there's sure to be pushback there because of it.
With what we're working on already being near political suicide and us not even having enough favour for the Ravnsvake it really doesn't make sense. Like, I get it, haha Snorri go brrrrrrrr, but it's not a case of going all out being overly giving here, but outright not the best call.
