On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

I still think the grudge rune is a better fit for perma kill.
Though i can see why the rune of Gazul could also fit the bill. Rather than using the narrative weight of our grudge/loss, we get strength from our wife who is with Gazul, to empower the rune to repeat the feat we did when we fought to a avenge her.
Option a) weaponizes the grudge b) weaponizes the memory
I prefer option a.
The runelord unlocking deeper secrets of his craft to punish demons more.
The grudge may be settled enough for Mrs Klaus to rest. It still seems like a bit of an open wound on Snorri though.
DEMONS GET COAL FOREVER!
Uh no, Gazul god of the dead is credited with the role of keeping the dead dead.
Natural synergy with keeping anything dead if you use it to support another rune which kills things

Oh yeah, I just read the update, but I want to ask @soulcake if we can eventually be able to improve Trollslayer if we get better?
Doubtful

But that doesn't tell a Story (capital S is important), which is what i was going for. Its functional, logical and mechanical... Which doesn't do much when dealing with demons in the warp. Of course i could be wrong and the logicality of it might actually be anathema to demons. Kills demons and Gazul keeps them dead. Does exactly what it says on the tin.
I like the idea of a "Story about killing demons" in axe form being better at actually killing demons.
@soulcake: what do you think of my theory?

So what exactly is an Ancestor God ? Are they the first dwarves ?
According to Dwarflore, The three first Ancestor Gods were born from deep within the hearts of the first mountains, and the entire Dwarf race are descended from them.
And where did they go during canon ?
Grimnir charges off into the Chaos Wastes to kill as many daemons as possible. There's no real information on the rest but shortly after that, the Ancestor gods fade away, with fewer and fewer sightings/interactions until they're just gone.

Doubtful

Sever them from this life, break their power and send their ragged shards to Gazul to keep them where they belong.

Well anyone have any ideas to how to discover perma killing runes or rune combos? Imagine that we may need to get master Daemon Slaying Runes to figure it out but can't see any other potential ways.

Well, not sure what masterwork rune we'd want specifically. But I'm thinking, Rune of Gazul to represent Death. Rune of Gromril/Adamant to counter the chaotic nature of the Warp/Daemons and finally the Rune of Daemonslaying to well, make a weapon even further tailor made to killing Chaos entities.

I'm not sure which of those 3 runes would need the masterwork though. Maybe Gazul to really enforce Death onto the weapon, chain it into Daemonslaying and Adamant to have it somehow equate to "let this adamant weapon slay/kill the daemon completely".

If it does need a fourth rune to really bring home the concept of perma death for chaos daemons maybe some kind of metaphysical bridge rune. Or connection, to metaphysically connect the avatar body in the material world and it's current state/damage to the warp entity hiding away.

Probably something simple I'm missing here though.

Hmm...naw, the Master should be Daemonslaying, its the central purpose.
Probably needs a powerful reagent rather than just a combo however. Any perma-kill weapon is going to be very limited throughput for Fuck That Daemon In Particular.

Also true death to daemons isn't as important as it sounds, since the main issue is getting the daemon 'here' and new Daemons spawn all the freakin time in the Warp anyway. You use it to take out heroes, the swarms of anonymous daemons just need to be banished.

Maybe a pokeball?

I don't know what we'd need specifically as a regent for it. Metaphysically pure Gromril/adamant is a given. That'd be the main purpose of the weapon, to be anathema to any daemon it's used on. Not sure what else could be used to enforce the purity/order needed. Maybe using the flames of the Phoenix king or the flame of Ulric to smelt the Gromril into adamant? If anything could enhance the purity and orderliness of adamant it'd be one of those. Or hell, it might be slightly heretical but using the Flame of Gazul might also work.

Using that to try and purify Gromril might work. It might tinge it with death instead of metaphysical chaos taint though. Hell, that might work more in the weapons favour.

A Hysh using Ice Dragon's breath to quench the blade?

@soulcake I have an idea for a a tier 5 masterwork
[Tier 5]The Greedy One's Heart: Popped out of its body by a swift hammer blow from Snorri Gift Giver. The heart beats endlessly even when it has long since run out of blood, a piece of something from when it still was mortal. A fragment of a troll that was.
+
Master Rune of Animation/Waking: Used to animate Rune Golems/Ancestor Golems/Gronti Duraz. Necessary Ingredients: [T2]Troll's Heart.
+
rune of Grimnier
=
50 meter tall stone and gromril reinforced colossal golem capable of fighting those most dangerous of threats that could over come the hold extensive defenses through sheer personal might like emperor dragons and the greatest of dragon ogres

I wonder if we could start a trend for the Runesmiths of Kraka Drakk, whereby each of them creates a (relatively) personalised golem for the defense of the Karak. Ymir would presumably be the leader, but it could be a neat tradition to establish, especially with our King's newfound appreciation for runes.

Itd help a lot after the Time of Woes at least. Help preserve dwarven lines by eating Skaven artillery and whatnot.

Well, they are artists. By way of making something impressive enough its entirely possible to inspire other artists of the same craft to derive their own works from ours. No Runesmith would directly copy another's work except in the instance of an Apprentice learning from a Master but that's not necessarily restrictive when you actually get down to it.

Im genuinely curious as to why some of ya'll are focused on golems

We have an item that can be compared to Ghal Frakking Maraz and you want to make a golem with it? Seems wasteful not to mention that repairing and maintaining the thing is gonna take up alot of our time

To me its basically a simple measure that a weapon on par with Ghal Maraz would be significant but doesn't satisfy the creative urges/storyline I'd most wish to see. So a Hammer of Ages which is a platonic ideal of a tool and a supreme creative tool, or a super golem.

While a valid point i have to say something
We can make golems without spending a T5 item (Something so rare its pretty much a one of a kind) on it
Barring the material costs is the stability issues, how will we maintain our golem and repair it when it gets damaged or destroyed?(Keep in mind this can actually happen) how will we convince the others that its a viable investment? What materials would it require to be produced efficiently without wasting materials (like a finite gromril supply and troll parts)

At the end of the day, the golem (while cool and narratively appropriate) just isnt a viable use of a rare item

To be honest, if it becomes a Tradition theres good odds the knowledge would even survive after Kraka Drakk gets cut off from the rest of the Karak Angor.

That's a hell of a thing in its own right, tbh

A golem powered by the Greedy heart would be an incredible investment in the defence of the hold and the future of dwarfkind.

i fully expect such a golem to be able to regenerate itself (with some limits).

Founding the tradition that every master runesmith that wishes to reside in Kraka Drakk must create a golem would ensure that the knowledge of creating Rune Golems is never lost. So not only are we reinforcing the Hold's defences with Golems, but we are preserving knowledge in the process.
