I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Not that I'm aware of, though the closest might be the Ancestor Rune of Gazul, which we don't know.

In 4th edition Dwarven army book, the Hammer of Azul had it. Wounds auto-kill. Doesn't say if armor or Ward saves are allowed.

If we go by the rules for mortal wounds, probably not. Yes, I'm aware it's from a different game.

Can you give us the hierarchy/interior organization/Org Chart and interrelationships of the Guild of Runesmiths by any chance, or are there secrets there that Snorri isn't privy too?

It was never shown that the Rune of Unbinding doesn't work, given that it never actually got to a Chaos God.

you aren't privy. All snorri knows is that the Brotherhood of Dron is a group of Runesmiths who've based themselves inside Karag Dron, Thunder Mountain, and whose stated purpose is to "uncover the secrets of Runecraft." Unofficially these guys have been trying very hard to break the Rule of Three.

Cause Gotrek hit him on the thigh, first time Bel got wounded iirc. He didn't go for the kill and let the Bloodthirster barrel Bel over.

I'll have to read up on the scene again, though.

Rune Metal seems like an obvious path for them. Can't use more than three runes, because no material can handle it? Make a better material.

That is true...I got nothing, I just don't like the writing of having made a way to win, then leaving it behind in a do or everyone dies situation, then getting it again and it not working, even if we assume that to be because the Chaos Gods, as revealed in Realmslayer, were staying well away from the axe.

Because they're anal-retentive secretive Runesmiths that don't want to share anything they're discovered to the 'unworthy' individuals that aren't part of their little club no matter how much it might help all of dwarf kind?

That's one possible one, but as the common fan interpretation for the End Times and this being the Time of The Ancestors where things are more flexible I'm not going to assume it is. They might just be leaving it for other Runesmiths to figure out on their own. Snorri's been like that several times with his apprentices.

Let me clarify: I have hope for a Master Rune of Daemon Slaying equivalent to be possible in some form, doing something beyond a single Rune of Daemon Slaying. Whether it permakills is something else.

I was thinking of getting around it with a line time restriction and a target restriction on the Rune. Like a combo of the Grudge Rune and the Daemonslaying rune to kill a specific Daemon Dawi have a Grudge against. Made to kill that one in particular.
