Okay, okay, okay. Let's make Sabrina put on a Santa hat and be confused when they tell her it's not Christmas.

Also, whenever we address the Kato issue, let's actually consider the seemingly slim possibility that the Ishinomaki girls lied to us and did kill her. Of course, that won't make it OK for Akiko to get her 'redress', but still.

We did. We asked her teammates and got stonewalled. We didn't push Akiko because we've had less success with her then we have on her teammates. Oh well. It's largely irrelevant and doesn't excuse her actions here.

She subjected the University Group to what amounts to torture for a year.
Her policies have caused the death of at least one magical girl that we know about.
She's ruined dozens of lives.
She continues to war with Ishinomaki over one girl and lied to us to get her on her side.
And through all of it, most of her teammates are going to shrug their shoulders and pretend this is perfectly okay.

Hahahaha fuck this bitch and her group. Hammer time.
Agree with most things here- my concern is that it's possible that Ishinomaki are the ones lying and they did, in fact, kill Kato. It would by no means excuse what Akiko's done to the UG or her continued stubbornness with regards to them/grief seeds, but it is something to bear in mind.

No, she got to Mitakihara before she went to Ishinomaki.

Edit: After rereading that part, it's actually not explicitly stated, if she went trough Mitakihara or Ishinomaki first. Just that she visited both cities. Since Mitakihara is between Sendai and Ishinomkai, it just makes more sense to assume that she passed throught Mitakihara first.

Ishinomaki part:
Aki shrugs indifferently. "Sounds about correct. And yeah, she probably passed through Mitakihara?" At Mami's nod, she continues. "She passes through Ishinomaki, too," she says, waving to emcompass the city. "We... well, I think we were nice to her. There were four of us, back then."

"Five," Ayaka corrects the cloner.

"Whatever. Point is, we asked if she wanted to stay. She didn't, we let her hunt a Witch, and pass through," Aki says.

"Right..." you nod.

"Thing is, a month later, Hamasaki and her cronies come screaming at us about her," Aki says. "Said we killed her, and they tried to kill us." Her face flattens into blankness. Similar expressions, blank looks and grimaces, echo across Kimiko and Ayaka's faces. "We win."

Mami part:
Mami tugs lightly at your elbow, and you turn to look at her. A small, troubled frown mars her face. "Sabrina, didn't Miss Mori say that she was here to heal a Kato Setsuko, too? I thought maybe it was just a coincidence, but..."

You frown equally. Now that she mentions it... "You met... a Kato Setsuko before, right?"

"I did, yes, she passed through Mitakihara about two years ago," Mami says. "She didn't want to stay..." she trails off, looking crestfallen.

You lightly touch your hand to Mami's arm, and smile reassuringly at her. "Do I need to tell you how wonderful you are again, Mami? Because I will."

She gives you a quick, grateful smile. "No... I was just thinking... she was troubled, I think, is the best word to describe her."

Honestly, if both Sendai and Ishinomaki think they are right, some misinformation due to QB seems more and more likely.

Can we bring up that the two stories don't match up? If this entire thing is due to a misunderstanding, then..

If we apprehend Akiko, I'd like to bring her to Ishinomaki, sit everybody relevant in a table and force them to talk through their issues. Problem is that, if the 'Kato witch' theory is true, Mami'll explode if we don't ditch her first. Maybe we can ask her to guard Akiko's friends, since they all seem to be part of the 'no morality club'.

Akiko is a proven liar. Her credibility is shot.
True, but she sounds pissed. If I were to guess that any part of her story is true, it's that she'd be mad that her...whatever Kato was to her... was killed. I guess she could have made that slip on purpose, but it doesn't seem likely to me.

I think it's less that she's lying about Kato getting killed. And more on her being unable to believe that the IG might have not killed her in the first place.

You do realize we really only have Ishinomaki's word that they didn't kill Kato, right? I mean, it's unlikely, but it's not like Ishinomaki's word is inherently more credible than Akiko's word, especially when we only know them for thirty minutes and they aren't exactly an unbiased source. I'm reasonably certain the whole thing is a misunderstanding of some sort, but lets keep this in mind until we know for certain exactly what happened.

[]No one's going to die today, but Akiko's got to be stopped. We're going to see if we can talk down her allies.
[]If you want to help, we'd welcome it, but we won't ask you to risk yourselves for this
[]Rin. I promise we won't hurt Akiko unless we have to- and not more than we have to to stop her. You should get back to Sendai. If you can help talk them out of interfering...we promise things will be okay.
[]Ask the University girls to let Rin go. We'll guarantee their safety.
[]Start searching from the air. Ask the Mumi for advice.

Heartless bastard insane incubator time.
  1. We cannot make this promise. Akiko might fight to the death, and given her apparent rageboner I think she easily is capable of pulling this off. I'm not confident we can end this fight without at least splashing her body across the the roof then yanking her gem. For that matter, I'm not even sure she'll be reasonable if we capture her body and timestop heal her. We need to be ready to remove all problematic elements from the scenario.
  2. I'm not sure we should let them come, but either way I'd change this to: "We do not ask you to help us. You've suffered a lot already. Take the opportunity to retreat, and recuperate from the conflict. If you are needed, we will ask. We will be, ahem, easily locatable. But, on the other hand, if you want to come with, we will not stop you."
  3. Do you reallllllly want to do this? Rin's a valuable war asset. We need to remove her from play. Gem yank seems perfectly reasonable, and we can stash her body somewhere safe. This rooftop, for example, probably has some nice alcoves to keep a body.
  4. Same as above.
  5. This is legit, actually, no particular objections
Additionally, can we do the BY THE POWER OF GRIEF ultimatum yet? Pleeeeeeeeeeease?

This doesn't seem very different from Ugo's line? We can leave the specifics to Firnagzen.

Additionally, can we do the BY THE POWER OF GRIEF ultimatum yet? Pleeeeeeeeeeease?
Let's not...

Sabrina: "Hamasaki Akiko, thou are a blight upon tis' world,
It is thou who hath accepted the Incubators' word and embraced them,
so thou does represent the worst evils of tis' wretched system.
BY THE P-"

*SMACK*

Sabrina: "-MMMM mmmmm." *Looks at Mami's hand covering her mouth, then at Mami*

Mami: "Sabrina! What has our beautiful language done to you to deserve this!"

Sabrina: *Pushes Mami's hand away* "Beautiful? More like god damn difficult!"

Mami: "What! You say that when you can speak fluent english! How is Japanese difficult compared to that?!"

Sabrina: "Oh you did not go there..."

Mami: "I-I... I did!"

And thus did the battle of the century come to be.

Akiko: *Puts on sunglasses, folds hands* "I love it when a plan comes together..."

Sakura: *Looks back and forth between Mami, Sabrina and Akiko* "Bullshit."

What happens if the UG don't agree to let Rin go? How serious are we about keeping her safe?

I like her and would prefer not to see her hurt. We also promised. Don't know if that matters.

If we want them out of the fight, we can use their refusal to let Rin go to pressure them, since they would need to 'guard' the prisoner.

We can make that promise and should lie that we can even if we can't because it's what they need to hear.

We want Rin out of the way and safe rather than a bargaining chip (and if we can get her to keep the rest of Sendai from interfering so much the better)

Gem yank will not end happily for anyone and I don't see it as being particularly useful. Rin is not for hostage'ing.

We'll try to get them to and offer alternatives.

Quite frankly, when you consider what exactly it takes to kill a meguca, we can quite confidently state that no one is going to die while fighting us. We can very easily subdue them non-lethally by taking away their soul gems, and as long as that isn't damaged they are functionally immortal. There wouldn't even be a chance of a witch out with our powers. Unless Sabrina is the one getting killed, there is no reason why we can't uphold that promise.

I'm not all that comfortable with being hamstrung with promises at this point so I had that line changed. I also wanted to cover some details, Ugo's vote doesn't.

[x] No one's going to die today, but Akiko's got to be stopped. We're going to see if we can talk down her allies.
[x] "Everyone transform please."
-[x] Recall grief. Prepare defenses. Stay alert for ambushes.
[x] Telepathy the UG: A fight with the Sendai group is probably inevitable now but we will help you.
[x] To Rin: I'm not going to lie. Things have gotten pretty serious. You are at a crossroads. You may need to make an important choice very soon.
-[x] Things cannot continue like this. If your group is unwilling to listen to reason then they need to be stopped.
-[x] I'd like to say, this isn't going to end up in a fight but I can't. We may need to hurt them.
-[x] The best thing you can do now... is to try and convince them to stand down. Try as hard as you can. Can you do this Rin?
[x] Ask the University girls to let Rin go. From this point on Mitakihara will guarantee their safety.
-[x] Telepathy the UG. If this turns into a fight with the Sendai Group and their allies, we will win. Simple as that.
--[x] Rin is at a crossroads. She's beginning to see what the Sendai group is for what they are. In the end, I hope she makes the right choice.
[x] Bring the UG. Protect the group from the rain and start searching from the air. Ask the Mumi for advice.

Should we alert Homura that we're about to get into a fight? If she wants in on this I see no reason to deny her.
