I strongly dislike the idea of sending the message we're planning to punish anyone- even Sendai or Akiko. This is about saving them- the goal here is to get everyone out alive, not to dole out punishment, and that wording regarding Rin doesn't really do that.

Should we alert Homura that we're about to get into a fight? If she wants in on this I see no reason to deny her.

We're fine. Mitakihara has a ton of advantages that the Sendai and Fukushima groups don't. Homura, knowing her mindset, probably doesn't want to be directly involved. Not only is she inconveniently out of range, calling for her leaves Mitakihara practically defenseless and leaves Madoka vulnerable.

Do you reallllllly want to do this? Rin's a valuable war asset.
Yeah. Rin has been helpful in these negotations, and I think letting her go is a good way to repay that kindness. At the very least, rin is a potential future ally and I don't wanna risk that.

It's good but it is a wall of text. Presumably we are still trying to avoid that. I perfer ugo's cause it is short/sweet and covers all the important bits without being bogged down by minor details.

Details weren't the reason why wall of text wasn't a good idea. We were nitpicking dialogue. These details aren't minor. They're important.

I'be been wondering whether Sabrina could fight on if she gets her base bashed in... Would it be possible to stay functional without a full brain? It's not like she uses it all that much :D.
Don't think so. From what we've experienced, having a functioning brain (damaged or no) is a prerequisite for maintaining awareness.
What a coincidence, I just found this:

The distinction between 'not dead' and 'not visibly dead' is in the little things like heartbeat and brain activity.
It's from that time Homura shot Oriko's head off. Good times.

EDIT: OK no, I kept re-reading and Oriko reanimated after healing most of her injuries.

And Silver had an idea we might be able to try soon.

...you know, next time we gib a meguca's head, we should try telepathically talking to her soul gem, finally find out if we actually need our brains to function1. Can't do it now, cuz Bunnycat's not in time stop to be our telepathy relay.

1: There are so many things wrong with this sentence.
Unless I don't remember and we already checked these things?

To be honest that Rin is doubting her allegiance and all is nice, but since the rest of the Sendai girls seems to be loyal to Akiko, I doubt she will be able to convince them, being the new girl and all that. Letting her go will at least put any stupid rescue plans on hold for now and buys us some time on that front.

Since the UG doesn't really have a hostage to hide behind anymore, if we can convince them to let Rin go, we kind of have to either take them with us or leave some protection behind, since they don't seem to like their odds on their own in a longer battle, with the rain and all.

To me personally, our top priority should be to crash the meeting, before the Fukushima group decides to enter the conflict on the Sendai side. Since the three present are only part of the whole group, fighting them could drag the rest of the group into the conflict for real and create a chain reaction. It would also be nice to leave this situation with only Sendai disliking us.

Edit:
They are fighting again:

I'm favoring offering asylum in Mitakihara if they don't go for it.

That `nobody is going to die` line is going to bite us in the ass. We`ve give so many `last chances` to akiko that telling her that she`s not going to lose much (since seeds are still a matter of life and death so everything is fair game) which means she`s got no reason to try deescalating and none of her group are going to try and convince her to stop since they don`t see any consequence.

Had a possible thought on what happened in the Kato situation that, if true, would mean both Ishi and Akiko would be correct in what they're saying. My idea is thus: Kato turned into a witch, who was then killed by the Ishi group (not knowing her from any other witch). Akiko, upon asking Kyuubey for a status report on Kato, received the answer 'the Ishi group killed her'- literally correct, but completely misleading.

No idea if this theory has been suggested before or has any holes in it, but it seems at least somewhat plausible to me.

That's THE 'Kato witch' theory.

Except...it's for Rin's benefit. Who does need the reassurance. And our allies, who need to know what our game plan is. "Nobody is going to die" also avoids giving Sendai motivation to do something stupid out of desperation because they think we're going to kill them.

And they don't see any consequence? The griefbender avoiding the gem but hacking them up is a fairly major consequence. Her saying "I'm not going to kill you" while going FLESH OF FALLEN ANGELS is still plenty intimidating, I think. :p

Reassuring one side that we're not going to kill them while reassuring the other that we're in this for real? Easy enough: "No one's going to die today... You won't believe the kind of things a meguca can survive."/Bloodthirst

Not really. They know we're not perticually violent (see our trying to talk everyone out of a war) and they don't know or at least underestimate our abilities, so adding that we`re going over there and then not going to hurt anyone just means we're going over there to bitch and moan at her and not do anything.

We`ve been completely nonviolent, and Akiko has shown that she doesn't care about what we think, so since we haven`t done anything, acually meaningfull, she can do whatever the hell she wants.

Except that...isn't how we're going to handle things. At all. The plan is to talk down their incoming allies, not them, as our top priority, and we have no reason not to break out the grief wings for dealing with Akiko and any friends.
