I'd rather avoid combat, as re-looking Cannongerbil's list, we have an unknown number of meguca with unknown powers on Akiko's side(at least 6 in Fukushima group, I think).
Most of us would rather avoid direct combat if we can, but as the IG showed us,that won't always be possible. Frankly, though, if we somehow manage to lose despite all the resources we have at our disposal, we need to go into the forest and start living with the monkeys, because clearly we are not intelligent humans.

It's better than the alternative, which is a bunch of phrases that literally mean nothing to the person we're saying them to and an offer of help without saying or even hinting anything about what kind of help we can give.
The alternative works, makes a request, and has a goal. What it doesn't do is assume practically everything before based on extremely lacking evidence (ie: none at all except wishful thinking) and expect Akiko to follow the mental script.

Wat. We've been boldly telling them what help we can give them since we first met them. We also point out she can teleport straight to us at any time

- [] Please, Akiko, work with me. This doesn't have to end in tears. I just need you to stop hounding the University group. You don't have to do that anymore.
- [] Safety, security, commodity doesn't explain why you told us you were in Ishinomkai to heal Kato Setsuko. There's clearly more to this, and I can't help you if you won't let me. If you want, we can go somewhere to discuss the issue in private.

Work with me, this doesn't have to end in tears, you don't have to do that anymore. These phrases don't have persuasive power in the context of our current discussion, and Akiko won't respond to them.
'Can't help her'? This is the first time helping her with the Kato Setsuko issue has even come up, and she has no idea what kind of help we can offer here. This needs to be rephrased into a genuine offer of help that gives Akiko reasons to believe we can actually help. Right now it does nothing.

The only thing your vote offers is the same teleportation reminder along with some vague promise help her with whatever she was doing in Ishinomaki (isn't what she was doing in Ishinomaki extorting people? Honestly don't know what you're referring to, here)

My big beef with your vote is the ramble early on that makes a lot of assumptions about what the whole story behind Kato is: if it's wrong, she's going to get pissed for acting like we already know the whole story and then try to explain it and get it wrong.

Ya know, I think a lot of these wording issues could be solved if we just made simpler declarations/summations of intent for each point and let Firn handle the exact phrasing.
(isn't what she was doing in Ishinomaki extorting people? Honestly don't know what you're referring to, here)
Nope. She keeps coming to Ishinomaki to pick fights with them for reasons ever since she came at them screaming about Kato being dead. Blames Ishinomaki for Kato's death, I think. Akiko also said that Sendai tried and failed to take over Ishinomaki.

Firn doesn't usually implement lines word for word anyway. Nitpicking the wording barring a handful of exceptions is usually not a productive use of time.

Nope. She keeps coming to their city to picks fights with them for reasons ever since she came at them screaming about Kato being dead. Blames Ishinomaki for Kato's death, I think. Akiko also said that Sendai tried and failed to take over Ishinomaki.
In that case, that's an even better reason not to offer that because we don't know the whole story.

I'd rather gamble and be wrong than give an effort that's an obvious non-starter.

In addition to what Krecart said,

"Sorry, got distracted for a moment. Anyway, if you don't mind, another question - where and how did you find Miss Hamasaki, anyway?" you ask.

"Oh. Sheer luck, actually," Yuuki tells you. "Yuuna and Kimiko were headed home from their club, and saw Hamasaki walking down the street. So they called it in, and we went searching around and found her... minions two streets away."

"Ah, got it," you say, humming thoughtfully. "And you attacked immediately?"

"No, of course not," Yuuki replies. "We watched them for a while. Both Hamasaki and her... friends-" distaste drips off the word, "-went on walkabouts for a while. She was definitely scouting around, so... Yeah."

"I see," you say. You roll the Grief sand over the back of your knuckles, rippling and shimmering oddly in the light.

"Yep," Yuuki says.

But that aside, you have some fair points. Maybe we should try being as direct as possible?

Pretty much what I thought both big votes were doing. Like I said, I just can't stomach the assumptions about Kato and offering help in an unknown endeavor. I'm worried, more than anything else, that it will come across as insincere (and unless we're finally just gonna flip the table and kick her ass, we really can't afford that).

[x]Begin increasing the intensity of the questions
[x]Point out the irrationality of Akiko to the other magical girls to get them on your side, maybe even ask them for info on Akiko.
[x]If there is any dirt on Akiko, try to use that to your advantage.
[x]If Akiko continues to stonewall you, advise Mami to stay strong, and then point out that she is playing right into Kyubey's hands. The very mention of the little jerk should get blood flowing, which, while not always advisable on a mediation, is likely to band the other magical girls against her.
[x]If Akiko cracks on the other hand, then thank her for being reasonable.

[x] To Akiko, telepathy:
-[x] What if I told you that there may be a way for grief seeds to be more than that? Not just safety and security, but hope for a return to something better?
-[x] I can't promise it. I've only barely got a hint of that as a possibility, and have been crazy busy the last few days, so haven't been able to really test it. But that hint is there.
-[x] Maybe it's only a pipe dream, but I'm not going to give up on it. But the more fires I have to run around putting out, the less time I can spend on such things.
-[x] I'm offering this â€" have been offering this â€" since the beginning. You can cling to safety and security, but that only keeps you tied to the here and now. If you want to try for something better.. if you want to hope for something better...
[x] Fallback, in case the above fails:
-[x] Stand up. Sorry, an emergency has just come up. Save my seat for me, please.
-[x] To all Sendai: Sit tight, I'm coming over right now.
-[x] Pull down enough grief for a small carpet and jump on it to head directly to Akiko's position.
-[x] Start cleansing Akiko's soul gem as soon as feasible.

[X] Speak to Akiko privately. Ask her if this has something to do with soul gems and Witches--and if it does, to elaborate. Heavily imply that we already know what she would be talking about. If she says that it doesn't, then ask if this has something to do with Walpurgisnacht.
-[X] If Akiko refuses to answer or gives an unsatisfactory answer, then go all-chat telepathy and point out all of the contradictory answers Akiko has given. Call her out on her bullshit, and explain that the only person who is not amenable to peace in exchange for Sabrina's services and a promise to keep the peace is Akiko, personally. Not the Sendai group, just Akiko.
-[X]Present ultimatum: Sabrina will enforce the peace and provide free, unlimited cleansing to everyone whenever they need it. Future disputes can be taken up with Sabrina and worked out. The Fukushima group will not be called in, or will be called off it already called in. Lastly, Akiko will be taken in for house arrest. The rest of the Sendai group will be free to go, but if any of them try to defend Akiko, they will subdued and taken in for house arrest as well.
[X] If Akiko presents a satisfactory or sufficiently compelling answer to the original questions, then we will determine our response in the next vote.

[x]Reassure Rin. This isn't her fault.
[x] Telepathy Akiko
-[x] I can't be around you 24/7? With Sakura's help, I practically can. Anytime you want your seeds refreshed, you can drop in and I'll cleanse your seeds. If you want to stay above a certain number of clean seeds, I can do that too. How many seeds are enough? Would having 30 seeds ready to use at all times forever be enough for you? What about fifty? 80? Because that's what I'm offering here. Infinite grief cleansings. All I'm asking in return is that everyone stop fighting for a reason I've made obsolete.
-[x] Please, Akiko, work with me. This doesn't have to end in tears. I just need you to stop hounding the University group. You don't have to do that anymore.
[x] If she reacts negatively or rebukes our offer:
-[x] If you don't agree to peacefully resolve this then I will crush you like I crushed the Ishinomaki group, don't make me fight you. Please reconsider this position.
-[x] Start talking to her teammates. Rin and Sakura, mainly, and ask if them can relay the message to the other girls. Tell her what we've just heard. Do they really want to go with a plan to try and demand 30 seeds from a group that they know can't afford it and force us to side with the University group if they refuse, or would they be willing to work for peace with us?

x] Relay to Mami, via telepathy what Akiko just told us. Thoughts?
[x] To Akiko: One way or another your extortion of the University girls is going to stop. If we can't come to a peaceful agreement, then for any further payments you'll have to go through us. Please reconsider, I don't want to start that fight, but I will end it if you force my hand.[/b]

[x]Telepathy to Akiko:
-[x]Do you actually believe that, Akiko? Kato Setsuko is dead. Yet you're trying to heal her. Grief seeds bring safety and security. Yet they've brought you a war. STOP LYING TO YOURSELF. There are other ways. Allies you don't have to pay. Soul gems and grief seeds emptied of corruption, without sacrificing your reserves. Freedom to pursue your real goals, without being attacked or sneaking around.

Can I try, then? This seems to be everything we can reasonably offer with certainty, problematic phrasing removed and with a handful of additions:

[X]Reassure Rin. This isn't her fault.
[X]To Rin and Sakura: Is she okay?
[X]Telepathy to Akiko:
-[X]Point out that she has a teleporter. We're willing to accommodate visits to cleanse seeds or gems at any time.
-[X]We left Ishinomaki on good terms with them. Whatever she wanted in the canceled negotiation there, we could at least speak with them on her behalf.
-[X]Safety, security, commodity doesn't explain why you told us you were in Ishinomkai to heal Kato Setsuko.
-[X]If she tells us more about what she wants, we might be able to assist her. We have resources, abilities, contacts...
-[X]Offer one-on-one discussion. Call in our favor for one-on-one discussion.
[X]If she stonewalls us or refuses:
-[X]Telepathy Mami about what Akiko's told us. Thoughts?
-[X]To Akiko: One way or another your extortion of the University girls is going to stop. If we can't come to a peaceful agreement, then for any further "payments" you'll have to go through us. Please reconsider, I don't want to start that fight, but Iwill end it if you force my hand.
-[X]Question Rin on the Kato inconsistency. Then explain to Rin, Sakura, Tamiko, and Yumi what Akiko's told us and point out all the contradictions. Ask if they really want to demand 30 seeds from a group they know can't afford it, knowing it would force us to side with the University group if they refuse the demand? Or are they willing to work with us to broker a reasonable peace?

This is basically pointless now. It's like voting [] negotiate.
Eh, that is pretty much from lines like "All I'm asking right now is that you stop hounding the University Group." and "The enemy of the magical girl isn't each other. It isn't the witch. Our enemy is the system. I want to change that, but I need you to work with me. Please." or "Freedom to pursue your real goals, without being attacked or sneaking around.".
Still don't like this bit. "Reacts negatively" could cover a lot of responses that wouldn't necessarily end the discussion. That's not a result of your reduction, just me nitpicking.
How about "if she holds a blanket refusal of offer with same position"?

ugh. Getting vote fatigue. The newest simplified vote looks fine, but I'm gonna sleep on it and see what happens while I'm out.
