You described Homura as a yandere in every sense but directly. "Obsessed, overly controlling, murderous stalker motivated by insane love" is the trope. And I apologize for the uh... emotional jab but let's just say I identify with Homura very much for Uncomfortable Personal Reasons and this is not the first giant essay I've written about her. And you kind of character-assassinated her.

As for the alternate timeline thing, this is explicitly confirmed in Wraith Arc and Homura's Revenge, as well as Magia Record. Outside of these, it was originally confirmed before we had all these materials by Word of God statements, and uh...

You know, Madokami saying she can perceive "every timeline that ever existed, and every timeline that ever will", and Kyubey's explanation for her potential being that Madoka's karma tied multiple timelines together into an impossible jumble...

Yeah honestly "She just rewinds" was never really an option I guess.

While this is TRUE, to be fair I was also trying to emulate Homura's headspace and the absolute desperate emotion that consumes Homura's mindset and how deeply the pain of her failure and her self-image acidically burns at her.
 
ya know, considering how hard it is for meguca to communicate with each other due to one form of isolation or more, basically relying on people like Nadia to pass along specifics, is the Meguca rumor mill actually all that fast?

@AuraTwilight Thank you for that in depth analysis. I empathize with Homura a great deal, but I've come to realize that the person whose character hits way too close for home to me is Mami, not Homura, so it's nice to see what see looks like to someone who is like her.

Timetravel terminology is always gonna be weird. I've heard and seen people use "timelines" in time travel situations where it very much was a rewind, as well as the other way around, as well as both at the same time in a confusing "make up your mind already" mishmash.

So I never put stock in wordchoice when it comes to timetravel.
