My impending death by cannibalism aside I've had a thought on how to explain the white rat to any new magical girls who need convincing of his, for lack of a better term, "treachery."
He's not evil in the way we understand it, hell he's not even treacherous really. While the Magical Girl system is cruel, monstrous, and almost lovecraftian in scope to human sensibilities, he's not human.
We're the Trees getting mad at the Lumberjack. Yes he manipulates people, but he does it with the same cold calculation a logging company has when selecting the next harvest.
He doesn't care is the point, he literally can't care. So when a Magical girl doubts that the cute white rat is evil we can point out that he's not. He's just the farmer making sausages, and guess who get's to play the pig.

We originally scheduled it for last night, specifically to ask the American IRC about the Iowa group, but a wild Kyouko interrupt occurred.
Right now we're booked for shopping, then a homework session (where Sabrina will probably mostly concentrate on making a whole bunch of mental protection enchantments for the Tokyo meeting), then a visit to Oriko.
Time permitting, we should be able to do the IRC, plus some other minutiae I've been pushing on backburner, sometime between the visit to Oriko and the meeting with the Shizuki's this evening.
