Doesn't Ono have some unspecified cognitive enhancement from her wish magic (along with whatever else it's up to)? Those are semi-rare but maybe particularly useful to Sayaka. Miki-el might be better off making the request for herself, though.

I would appreciate it if one of the older voices in Sabrina's head would nitpick my vote at some point. Otherwise I'll have a think and do my best in a few hours.

Speaking of things on the to-do list, I recall someone mentioning grief sabots to throw hammers as an attack, with the remark that there was no obvious limit on velocity, and that a meguca weapon should be a good projectile. I will second the opinion that a meguca weapon at sufficient velocity (sufficient depending on target) seems like the optimum long-range strike for hard targets (low danger to user, use of conceptual attack, variable yield up to probably high enough upper limit). By which I think I mean almost exclusively a backup for Walpurgisnacht. I didn't find it on the Science Log, so I thought I'd mention it here because it seems uniquely suitable in its niche.

It IS basically straight up canonical that all the Pleiades are gay for her. And I think an update of PMAS heavily implied them to be a polyamorous relationship (a polygon, if you will).

Oooh, I forgot to mention that I actually didn't think it was appropriate to have Homura present for this. Like, as far as Kyouko's concerned Homura has no connection to the issue.

Dinner conversation regarding Sayak's training and Yuma seems maybe completely fine and even productive or maybe a little off-key. I don't feel like I can discern which, but that's mostly on me at the moment; I'm pretty sleepy.
I'll note that even if Homura isn't present for the meeting, we should still tell her about the new developments. We made a promise to keep her in the loop after all.

Thus, for now, I'm voting for

I would specifically call into question whether "You won't lie and tell her that fighting Kyouko didn't hurt things between them. She knows that full well. But that that only makes this more important." is effective for any particular purpose. Mami wants this and knows we think it's important, and she trivially knows that her relationship with Kyouko was injured. So, what is meant to be accomplished here? It seems dodgy. Like, they haven't talked in (at least a year?), there's no need to belabor the point that they had a falling out in the first place, so then what? Mostly I'm not sure I understand this part @The Phoenixian.
This is something mostly carried over from @Kaizuki whom I'm tagging to read things over and provide their own insights.

For my part, I think it is important to acknowledge that there's a lot going on here that will take effort to fix, rather than everything being find and dandy in an instant. Mami may not be as bad off as she once was, but I don't want there to be room for that doubt or apprehension to gnaw at her if things go south initially.

What where who--

[X] You think Kyouko really does want to reconcile, but has difficulty believing she can actually do so.
- [X] Kyouko is scared of things becoming a fight and being shot for it.
-- [X] Saying your suspicions why would be invasive, but it's pretty clear Kyouko blames herself for something, even as she's doing everything she can to be a good caretaker and role model for Yuma.
-[X] You won't lie and tell her that fighting Kyouko didn't hurt things between them. She knows that full well. But that that only makes this more important.

Are we literally voting to tell Mami flat out no padding that Kyouko is scared that Mami is going to fight her and shoot her--

Wait, not quite. That got revised. UH.

[X] You think Kyouko really does want to reconcile, but has difficulty believing she can actually do so.
-[X] You strongly suspect her reasons for believing reconciliation impossible have more to do with feelings of guilt than with any informed appraisal of Mami's likely reactions
- [X] Kyouko is scared of things becoming a fight and being shot for it.
-- [X] Saying your suspicions why would be invasive, but it's pretty clear Kyouko blames herself for something, even as she's doing everything she can to be a good caretaker and role model for Yuma.
-[X] She's had a while to sit on her rationalizations; she asked for your assurance that Mami wouldn't simply pick up the fight where they left off
-[X] You won't lie and tell her that fighting Kyouko didn't hurt things between them. She knows that full well. But that that only makes this more important.
-[X] You suspect Kyouko has a great deal of difficulty coming up with any expectations, since she's simultaneously willing to talk, and more or less listening to you telling her reconciliation is possible, while also holding onto the idea that reconciliation is impossible and maybe that she doesn't deserve it
-[X] You think Mami should approach this with openness, honesty, and understanding. Emotionally as well as otherwise. It's behind all your relationships with the people you care about, and you don't think the heart of the answer is different here.

[X] Onwards with dinner!
- [X] Experiment with magic cosplay and set the table as maid-brina. With hair extensions.
- [X] Any particular dinner conversation?
-- [X] Sayaka's training with Kyoko and Yuma seems to be going well. You're proud of the progress she's made.
-- [X] Also, Yuma is great! She's a little girl Kyoko is taking care of... and who's also taking care of Kyoko.
-[X] Inform Homura about the meeting, and ask her to give Mami and Kyouko some privacy.
[x] Arrange the meeting with Kyouko
-[X] Invite the discussion to happen

This isn't... A whole lot better. Don't get me wrong that additional line in between those two lines helps a good deal, just... Not as much as I'd like... and why is this so long?

It... it comes off as though we're just listing, like, ten different answers that aren't really interconnected. Like, that whole first block, pick pretty much any two lines on the one-dash level and just... they don't really go together.

...

I'm gonna modify my original a tad bit to make it work better, and I'm just going to use it.

[X] Kyouko would like to reconcile with her, but has a *lot* of difficulty believing that that's possible. Whether she believes it's Mami or herself or both of them that makes reconciliation hard varies. If that wasn't your understanding of matters you wouldn't be doing this.
-[X] You won't lie and tell her that fighting Kyouko didn't hurt things on both sides. She knows that full well. You won't lie and tell her that Kyouko doesn't think being shot at is a possibility. Neither she nor Kyouko would appreciate that. You won't lie and tell her that Kyouko *expects* this to go well. But you *will* tell her that that only makes this more important.

Do you have the same objection to Genial Precis' vote, since that's only behind by one?

You won't lie and tell her that
As far as I can tell this framing just serves to draw out the negativity. What is the value of it?

Actually, that whole paragraph reminds me of when we metabombed her. Leading with a bunch of negative stuff to reveal a surprise not-negative conclusion is unnecessarily stressful and just generally not good communication.
Also, Yuma is great! She's a little girl Kyoko is taking care of... and who's also taking care of Kyoko.
Also, Mami knows about Yuma.

Yes, but that doesn't mean she's thought of it in terms of "My students student".
"Grandkouhai" is a good Sabrinaism to pop when Koko and Mami are there and we need to derail their respective trains of thought.
I'm all for that, but Kaizuki's vote doesn't use those terms or that timing so I'm a bit confused about where this came from.

Also, Mami knows about Yuma.

It came from I think R2's vote. Wtf was that doing in there in the first place? Removed. Also, edits made.

There's one more line I want to nail for this...

Mrrrrrrrrrrrr.

AB testing.

A:

[X] Kyouko would like to reconcile with her, but has a *lot* of difficulty believing that that's possible. Whether she believes it's Mami or herself or both of them that makes reconciliation hard varies. If that wasn't your understanding of matters you wouldn't be doing this.

B:

--[X] Pause for a bit.
---[X] Honestly? Speaking as the third party, here, the expectations of both sides in this situation seem to be completely broken from a lack of clear communication, and probably shouldn't be relied upon. Mami really needs to tell Kyouko that she still cares about her, and Kyouko really needs to hear it. Worrying about literally anything else should come afterwards.

A?

Or B?

@Worldsoul15 @BlueTwinkleToes My bandwagon is changing course, please exit the vehicle in an orderly manner if this isn't where you want to go.

So, I spent maybe too long staring at my previous vote and thinking about what to do and then @Kaizuki's latest draft came up. It's better. I have some differences of opinion though, so I make a similar but revised vote. I've highlighted the additions. The first change is meant to convey the same as what it replaced, that's all.

The additional line in the "talk about upcoming thing" block is meant to manage Mami's expectations. I don't think the first line does enough to convey that Kyouko is not being realistic about this. How could she be, when she hasn't talked to Mami in so long and things have changed so much since Sabrina's arrival. None of which change Kyouko has seen. That seems somewhat implicit in the first two lines, but worth stating. In a similar manner, I could read "Kyouko doesn't expect this to work but it's important" as "don't worry too much if this doesn't go perfectly," but I wanted to say so more clearly and maybe manage expectations in case of Kyouplomacy.

Finally, I thought to suggest where to meet, since inviting her over seemed like a good idea, as before. However, to be clear, I would be mostly happy just voting Kaizuki.

[] Kyouko would like to reconcile with her, but has a *lot* of difficulty believing that that's possible. Whether she believes it's Mami or herself or both of them that makes reconciliation hard varies. Still, you think this is likely to work out or else you wouldn't be doing this.
-[] As for expectations? Kyouko doesn't expect this to work, and she doesn't expect much good to come of it. That only makes this more important.
-[] You think this will be productive even if it doesn't completely work out, because Kyouko has unrealistic expectations that will be reset just by having an open conversation.

[] Onwards with dinner!
- [] Experiment with magic cosplay and set the table as maid-brina. With hair extensions.
- [] Any particular dinner conversation?
-- [] Sayaka's training with Kyoko and Yuma seems to be going well. You're proud of the progress she's made.
-[] Inform Homura about the meeting, and ask her to give Mami and Kyouko some privacy.
[] Arrange the meeting with Kyouko
-[] Invite her to the apartment but don't push if she rejects that
Edit: fixed typo
Edit2: I like Kaizuki's latest better anyway. See below
