you ever remember that homura probably can't remember it being anything other than spring (autumn? hemispheres are odd) for years and years and get really sad. cause I do

Especially considering Magia Record's side stories actually explore Homura's reaction to being able to once again experience life beyond May 1st... and she's brought to tears that she can experience that kind of happiness with everyone in the cast and actually enjoy summer. Imagining the kind of things Homura would like to do with Madoka the whole cast: Summer at the Beach, Watching leaves fall in autumn, the rare Winter Snowfall (if she and friends take a trip to the right cities)... yeah... here come the feels.

Homura has known Madoka for 12 years and has never once gotten to celebrate her birthday.

*snip Mom hasn't experienced anything beyond the last month for 13 years*

This means that we have to make all the holidays Homura experiences in the upcoming year the best celebrations ever. We have to pack in 13 years worth of Christmas, 13 years worth of Halloween, 13 years worth of Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day.

Oh, yes, and 13 years worth of birthday. Fuck, that one's gonna hit Mom hard. She's been 14 for a long while now; the concept of growing up has got to be alien to Homura.

once we get past this, defeat WPN, fuck up the incubators and shatter this whole rotten system, it may take months, it may take years, but we'll able able to smile and be happy again, without the specter of tragedy hanging over and shadowing us

And of course, we can't plan birthday parties without neglecting Mami's. That needs to be one for the ages.

Fuck it, just have an entire month of nonstop celebrations after we kick Waldo's shit in.

You monster...
consoles himself with tea and sweets...

jk, I get the real point you were making, and yeah... there's an incalcuable amount of things Homura hasn't gotten a chance to experience because of her looping

we have to help her rediscover the simple joys of life after this is all over. the sunny days of may, a warm family, sunny side eggs for breakfast, lazy Sundays, being with someone you love. all the tiny things that don't seem like much when you're used to them but are almost the definition of being happy. those small things homura hasn't had for so so long

I got the impression that it wouldn't hurt to throw Madoka atlet Madoka know that it's perfectly okay for girls to love girls. That's certainly something to start with, and we wouldn't even need to wait for the end of the loop.

Haven't we been doing that already through our actions, pretty much every time she's seen us and Mami within a hundred meters of each other? :p

But yeah, I guess it wouldn't hurt to say out loud.

Sabrina: Madoka I've got to tell you something
Madoka: What?
Sabrina: ... I like girls.
Madoka: ... No you don't
Sabrina: WHAT?!
Madoka: You like Mami.
Sabrina: ..... oooooh true... but your cute too.
Madoka: what.
Sabrina: what.

Homura: She's right.

Ah, the sheer mortification of the moment when everyone realizes you want to marry someone kind and cool like your mom Madoka when you grow up.
Let's do this.

Edit: btw, we really don't need to worry someone would misunderstand
Sabrina offering to steal Sayaka to be her wife was the most comprehensive explanation ever

time for the real hot button issue on the order of "hotdogs are sandwiches"

is Homura tsundere?

Hold up. Hotdogs are tacos.

Homura isn't tsundere, or any other cliche personality archetype. She's a severely traumatized teen and has probably essentially forgotten how to do things other than protect Madoka.

Once we all survive WPN the smart move will be to get Homura into therapy as close to immediately as possible. We may begin to see her personality surface during that process, but right now I think we're seeing a version of Homura that has over the course of the loops thrown away everything that isn't directly useful to her mission.

A hot dog is a hot dog. It's defined by being surrounded by bread on three sides, with the primary filler being a single sausage of some variety, and then some number of additional fillers. It's not a sandwich, it's not a taco, it's a hot dog.

Have we... ever gotten Homura to blush? Because we need to if we haven't

We have not, yet, according to my search. We shall do it soon! I believe!

On a related note, I went through all the blushes in PMAS and did some counting because it's very relevant and necessary information to know.

Blush count! Not as important as the hugged status / count that's going on, but still important information. I didn't double check but these are the numbers I got.

Mami: 84
Sabrina: 21
Sayaka: 12
Kirika: 9
Oriko: 3
Madoka: 2
Hitomi: 2
Umika: 1
Kaoru: 1
Michiru: 1
Niko: 1
Homura: 0 (THIS WILL CHANGE!)

Also, found this in rereading while doing the blush search, and this is relevant to @Vebyast 's point, and it supports their point.

"Ah... but if they took the boy out, then they can't do romance," Madoka says.

Sayaka shrugs. "The girls are more interesting, anyway. Could just pair them up."

You blink, and look at Sayaka, then Homura, who's chewing through a mouthful of okonomiyaki. Madoka's also giving Homura a funny look, one which she transfers to you and Mami. Homura looks at you, poker face firmly in place. Mami blushes faintly, ducking her head and picking up another dumpling.

Sayaka blinks. "Did I say something wrong?"

"No... no, you didn't," you say, shaking your head with a smile.

I think that this shows that she has been somewhat affected by society's heteronormativity (1st bit of dialogue), and she has probably started coming to terms with her own crush on Homura (funny look at Homura). She already does know now what we think about the topic with dating Mami and all of that.

Note that to keep track of time this event took place a week and a half ago on Monday April 4. Today is Thursday April 14.

I also find it quite interesting how Homura looks at Sabrina here. I'm not sure what that means.
