Comedy is context-dependent. What is funny in one context may not be funny in another. I will cite my earlier point about lengths of rope and books of knots. In the right circumstances, that can be funny. In other circumstances it will literally land you in jail to rot for the rest of your life and justice will be served. To put it in terms of comedic performance: learn to read the room.

It took three posts for them to start posting suicide. There is nothing I can do to make this any worse than it already was. And if I get to choose between the thread being full of people posting suicide and the thread being full of me telling people to stop ruining it for everyone else by killing every last iota of enjoyment, even when it's sourced directly form the fucking QM, I know exactly which one I'm going to pick.

I'm not sure where you're getting the vitriolic part from, I'm pretty sure the only one who has broken down into using fuck every other sentence like it's going out of style is Veb, everyone else seems pretty calm.

even if this did affect and bleed into her thoughts, so what? people have weird, sometimes dark, sometimes deeply messed up thoughts all the time and just keep going about their day like normal, I know I have a lot of those thoughts and they never go anywhere other than my head for a few minutes and then I forget about them

Everyone participating is responsible for the thread's mood. So am I, so sorry for using f-words. I don't even notice it, sometimes. I mostly use them for emphasis, but that doesn't excuse me.

And you know what. I was going to write a short essay about how assuming makes an ass out of you and all that, but I can't even bring myself enough to care. This whole issue is a textbook example or making an elephant out of a fly. Basically, a shitstorm born out of shitposing, an ultimate form of alchemy: self-perpetual salt-generation, or so it looks to me, an uneducated heathen.

So I'm going to sleep and see how this shebang resolves itself in the morning. Sorry if someone thinks this is important and warrants an extensive discussion and a saltstorm, but I don't.

I'm saying there are ways you could've addressed the issue without resorting to this level of toxicity and you're more than intelligent enough to know that. Your tone matters. I really think you should chill. A more polite tone will get more people to listen to you instead of generating this kind of disruptive back and forth.

I want to point out that Redshirt Army quite expressly posted that in response to my comment, and is very much aware that I do not respond well to "tetris meme" references.

It was a very personalized "Fuck you" that neatly evades SV's moderation. Like a great deal of the other shit he pulls here.

They're not quite identical, probably because the underlying metaphysics isn't exactly the same, but they're very clearly sourcing from the same general concept, yes - and I'd expect an alchemist to be able to do something with a soul gem in a hypothetical crossover.

You could hardly consider a soul gem to be a philosopher's stone; it usually requires something on the order of thousands of souls to make even a proto-philosopher's stone.

Sure you can - the concept of a philosophers stone scales down fine to just a single soul. Heck, Edward explicitly heals himself using part of his own soul as fuel by exploiting that principle.
