Then once we've done this for 24 hours, we just end up with Mitakihara back in its place, having skipped the day of Walpurgisnacht's attack.

Walpurgisnacht will be so confused.

Of course not! That, as the list shows, counts as 'picked up', it is not a replacement for a proper hug!

Yuma must be hugged properly, not just handled like some sort of football like object.

Of course, Yuma might then also be handled like some sort of football like object. Or a plane.

But first she needs the hugs.

Masami wasn't to keen on the skeleton look, and it was in her name. In fact she got help from her girlfriend just to cover up her skeleton looks with illusion magic.

Talk about body image issues.

Eh, Arthas wasn't really a lich in the proper sense. Yeah, Frostmourne, the Helm of Domination, and his heart all contained his soul. (I think it was some sort of "sundered soul" dealie, like Voldemort and his horcruxes.) None of that stopped Arthas from dying, in the end. All that's left is a pair of echoes, rattling around in the reforged Frostmourne and Bolvar's helmed head, respectively. Not sure what happened to the heart.
 
Hmm... Related question, if wrapping our arms around someone is a hug, and wrapping our magic around theirs for a moment of connection is a soulhug, is wrapping our grief around them/their soul gem to capture and/or de-gem them a doomhug?

Ah, we actually have experimental data on this.

Sabrina can hug with her Grief, but hugging is not just a matter of... physical motions. For example, when we captured Hijiri, we kept her contained in Grief, yet we were not hugging her.

Meanwhile, we did wrap some Grief around Mami's shoulders with hugging intent, and Mami felt hugged, as surmised by how she became more relaxed when we did apply such Grief hugs.

So I think that while Sabrina can hug with her Grief, she must intend to hug with that Grief in order for said action to constitute a hug. Also, perhaps someone who didn't know Sabrina and her totes canon obsessive compulsion to hug things would react differently to a Grief hug, and not feel hugged at all.

If the hug target does not feel hugged, does the Grief hug still count as a hug?



FAKEEDIT: Also, I think the proper term is Soul Snuggles, not Soul Hugs? :thonk:

That's a hug with a side of shanking.

So it's a hug with a price. Hug the little looking girl, get stabbed, if you think about it as a transaction, it sounds pretty fair. It's not like getting stabbed would hurt us a lot.

Really, it's Yuki's fault for being smol that she'll eventually get hugged. :V
