The first thing I'd do is tell her we're plain not gonna talk about sensitive stuff without privacy measures. She'll have to wait.

I like that she's not impressed with Mami. Honestly that was getting to the level of eye-rolly.

My biggest problem with this "Mami is super-famous and legendary" meme is that Mami just isn't that old. Hearing about some magical girl holding a territory you know nothing about alone for a few years, with no other context... well it's interesting but it's not super-OMFG. Anyone can get lucky for a few years. Call back when she's been doing it for a couple of decades, and then people could be impressed. A few years (much of which she wasn't actually alone anyway) is nothing.
 
Didn't we magic up a privacy bracelet at some point? That stopped anyone else from hearing what we were saying or reading our lips but they could still see us? Might be safer than a privacy sphere here.

I think phrasing it like that is just asking for a bad reaction.

Say "I don't know for sure but my current theory is..." That's the sort of answer she's asking for.

Honestly, Mitakihara is apparently well known for being high-density in Witches and thus a very desirable territory. And who knows how word of mouth really works for Meguca rumors; Mami seems to be one of Kyubey's prime recruiters so he could've bolstered her mythos a bit.

To add onto this, well...

Riona Mag Aoidh has been doing the same thing herself, for at least as long; since neither of us know anything about each other's respective territories, it just seems like she's meeting someone who's kinda similar to herself, which usually doesn't inspire much awe in people.

Well, yeah but maybe that's how she sees it or something.
More likely she's the type to hyperfocus on her goal and sees everything that she doesn't see helping her as a distraction, and not really good at recognizing what can help.
This could explain a part of her rudeness, although I don't doubt that she's rude all time, I just hope she's less so.

The story would have to sell me a lot harder than it has and bring in lots of evidence not present in the original series to support that "no". I mean, hell, one thing we know is that Mami was getting lucky! One moment of inattention and over-confidence and she got herself killed in the original series. That sort of thing could have happened at any time.

Unusual, sure? Even worthy of comment. But I don't buy the extent to which it was taken in the recent chatroom section.

Western magical girls could have a different perspective due to our culture and seen far more Mami level girls rise and fall all over the place, so centuries or epic legendary acts might make an impression.
Quite refreshing that she cut through all those annoying fawning even its meme or building Mami up.

Honesty I can see us getting along well since we could be far more blunt in details unlike the loaded level of tacts for everyone else we talk to.
Better find out the norms for western magical girls or it might be different in her case due to social and lifespan.
