So if Shiogama does decide they want to help with the refugees, do we want to give them the IRCs or do we really only want them talking to people after they show up?
The second, I think. They'll help us with the fact we're just not gonna have enough hands available to hug ALL the meguca at some point.

That Noriko, making such a good Wish, letting her hug two people at two completely different places at the same time... we should admire and envy her.

:V

One thing I just thought, that we might want to bring up, we could point out the advantadges of infinite magic regarding enchantment, maybe Akemi could literally make actually functioning magical lucky charms.

We have to give the IRCs to someone with the time to keep up with them. A quick conversation with one of the ten every several days isn't great.

New to the thread and a completely random thought, but: have we ever referenced Oriko as just Oreo? The color scheme fits if you add Kirika...

Whoa! I'm pretty sure we all want to read this! Ante up?
I'm still working on them. They're far from ready yet. As for the info Firn gave me...to be honest, I feel bad about sharing even the couple of very vague bits without Firn's express permission.

Fair enough. My instinct is that it won't be different from the way we said this info in text, however. One of these things far outweighs the other. In memories, this will always be 'the time we first learned about Walpurgisnacht.' Even if we curbstomp her, learning of it was a shock. Re-read the reaction?

I want them to understand they have people protecting them now. Society works by trust, not fear.

Showing them the DVD might prove our power a little, but I think they may not respond well to that approach. If they can grow, and become better women instead of better fighters, that's fine. Support is the magic of military power, anyway. We need many tiers of support and organization, and civilians do that. Madoka is relying on Homura. Homura is now turbocharged by us. Sabrina gets her reach from Mami, and all our friends will get more powerful as the level of supporters goes up. ("It's turtles all the way down.") All they need is a good bond with us, by knowing the truth. Making our civilians ignorant is a losing plan.
Thus if we avoid 'cornering' them, or abusing their reliance on us to take away their independence, telling them about actual risks isn't bad.
Sabrina is currently the best deal in the world for a generic Magical Girl. In current terms, not counting our revolutionary endgame, trading with us is smart. Our team is strong, and our costs for membership are very low. Further, the brand of crazy we broadcast isn't particularly harmful.* Anywhere they go, heck, anywhere I go IRL, there is community. It isn't free, because as a group we are doing things. But there IS freedom here, the key ingredient. As I take it, we are not putting out a "fixed cost" model, ours seems to be a "rational sliding scale" model. To compensate our risk for making it possible for them to live us, we want them to pay something. That something is "agreement." If they don't agree, we will still cleanse them. Megane Ono, for instance. But we will need to focus on other people instead. If they do agree, that agreement needs an expression, which is somewhat free choice. Assistance is typical? And we break entropy with perpetual hugs, if that wasn't enough. I'm getting too elemental here, so I think my position is stated.
Agreed.

Now that I remember, there's a few people we might want to check on.

I think we called Hijiri this morning, I'm not sure what are our plans with her. Call her one more time today, wait until tomorrow morning...?

Related, check on the Pleiades?

Also, just remembered and checked, last time we asked, Masami and Hiroko found no traces of Kuroki. We did leave a note in there for Kuroki, but they didn't mention it. Is it possible Kuroki is alive and found the note? (Or the note was blown away by wind or they just didn't mention it or Firn forgot :V )
I mean...it seems overwhelmingly likely that she just Witched Out and there's nothing but a Witch to find.

Wait until next week, at least. Unless you want to start making quick chats with her every day (riskier? may work? don't know to social this). What I see is Hijiri being a similar yet worse case than Kyouko, because Hijiri may end actually hating us.

It's been awhile. Don't forget about Nagisa everyone.
Calling Nagisa is in Onmur's vote bandwagon right now.

Yes, we should see if we can invite her over tomorrow.

Would probably also be a good idea to visit Kyouko tomorrow during the day: Mami's has a tendency to eat up our time after school and, since I for one have no intention of stopping, we need to plan around that fact.

While we have her on the phone we could ask to talk to Shin? We did just talk to Mika about us needing more adults in the know.

I think we did say we'd go with Sayaka next time... though I guess we can go whenever.

It's been like, five forevers, but I think our plan was to talk with the Shizukis first, then use their help to talk with all the other adults... Don't know what would be better. Maybe we could ask Mika for help when it comes to revealing magic to the meguca/Potential parents (and uncles), too?

About the Shiogama girls, I meant to comment, but forgot: Once they have a Clear Seed, they could, if they wanted, go back to Shiogama. They don't need to be in Mitakihara for cleansing.

I'd like to be able to express this idea in a way that doesn't sound like we're kicking them out.

Also, trying to think of a way to plot for a Nagisa Yuma playdate to happen... Kyouko didn't seem to be against the idee that one time we brought it up.

Hm. Is it actually worth trying to make a Speckled Enchantment of Grief cleansing (or movement)? Would it... prove anything, or help in any way?

I think we already tried that, and it failed with Mami's theory being that a Grief mover made of the thing it's supposed to be moving isn't going to work out?
Actually...
You frown at the rock in your hand. Can you make an enchantment that controls something else?

It turns out that the answer is yes. Half an hour later, you manage to get a rock shard levitating another in a simple figure-of-eight. Mami claps, beaming at you when you show it to her.

The question then is Grief, but that's something you have to leave for another time, because it's time to cook.

I guess we're so close to the point of trying to make a Grief cleanser for real, there'd be little point in checking whether we can half-cheat it with Grief assists...

We really should try this soon, by the way, I just want to finally see whether we can buff the hell out of ourselves on a permanent basis or not, first.

Meet up with Kyouko/Yuma and Nagisa in the Afternoon at the same spot? You can talk shop about while Nagisa and Yuma get precocious crushed on each other argue about whose "big sis" is cooler play? Two birds, one stone.

[Q] Stealthily take Mami's phone and record Akemi's and Noriko's reactions to Clear Seeds.

Proof of concept? Blueprints for us to follow for our next attempt? Giving Mami something she could try to copy?
I'm now thinking we should just try making the real thing. Don't want to do it right now, because I want to get defensive enchants before Riona arrives, but next time we got a free hour, we can just try it, for real...

Please consider pushing this off into the future?
We might get ourselves (even further) in the growing pains of our front-loaded campaign. IRC is fame, and confirmation, and the route to more situations. Our base needs attention. Our research must advance, so we can bring more than promises when we adventure outward. Further, we have visiting royalty inbound. Right behind her, there are a few scoundrels that might merit our full concentration. Those girls can't be left to gain initiative, and once we have a few more results to trade with Niko, we can try to choose the circumstances of the encounter. After that stuff, we should be able to consider a little Internet diplomacy before Bad Weather comes to town.

Come to think of it, we could introduce them to Kyouko, and suggest she and Noriko spar, for fun if nothing else.
I had a thought. Kyouko needs to truly appreciate how much advantage Akemi's luck creates. We should buy a RISK boardgame, teach the rules, and have at it a few times. And we should have secret side-bets about who rages and destroys the board first.

From Firn. I've been working on a series of omakes about the Shioga girls. Since it's basically irrelevant now, I don't see the harm in sharing some vague, general tidbits about misatos power, or that Noriko is skilled (she's still alive, after all).
I confirm this, yes.

Also, can I get some more votes?

I'll try to come up with something tomorrow.

Also, enchantment proposal: see if the enchanting booster makes us able to enchant grief faster or better.

I agree with that, I still don't like the we stood up at cleaning Kyouko and Yuma's soul gems. *shrug*

[ ] Make a Grief Enchantment Enhancer; use it to try making Speckled Enchantments:
What do you mean with speckled enchantments?

A bit late to last update but this time part of a feedback. Very minor, though:

"Hey, Yuma!" you call out telepathically as you work. "How's it going?"

"Miss Sayaka told Yuma not to say anything to you!" Yuma says. "Or else she wouldn't give Yuma candy!"

"... really?" you say. Huh. Candy.

"Big sis hit her for that, and took away the candy," Yuma says, mental voice lowering to a conspiratorial whisper. "But big sis shared the candy with Yuma and Miss Sayaka! So Yuma can tell you."
There's something weird on how this part flows. I can imagine the scene of Yuma, Sayaka and Kyouko and it's as funny as Yuma makes it sound. However, it takes some time for all of that to happen and Yuma's wording suggests that it's happening at the same time of the telepathic conversation. I'd have expected some pause from Yuma before Kyouko gave her the candy, but as it is now it feels the conversation happened too fast for the events in Kasamino to happen.
