Since Witches are verboten in our new world order, people have proposed just feeding Kyuubey the Grief collected from global cleansing, possibly whipping up something analogous to Grief Cubes once the Grief Seed supply dries up. This isn't even remotely enough energy for the Incubators to keep the universe ticking: Even in a society where meguca are shamelessly spamming magic everywhere continuously, cleansing would be a remote 6 on the energy scale (bearing in mind that there's already a huge power gap between 2 and 3), while simultaneously eliminating every other energy source besides new contracts (and there have been proposals to bar Kyuubey from recruiting as well, like the global Anti-Kyuubey Memory Barrier Network).

This is why Kyuubey says that hunting Witches would be a more efficient use of our time relative to his energy quota; not because he's some sort of soulless paperclip maximizer, but because what we're proposing is barely a drop in the bucket to him. For those of you who consider Kyuubey's modus operandi (forestall entropy) to be relevant and a thing we give two shits about, how would we allay this concern?

Regarding this, shouldn't magic in itself be enough to fight entropy? I mean, magic creates things from nothing, that's a lot of energy coming out from nowhere; if everyone became meguca, and live eternally using magic as much as they please, shouldn't that be enough to get rid of the entropy?

Complete universal witchification though barring specific high potential wishes. In theory you could keep some level of civilization going past heat death with Sabrina, a Matter Generating Magical Girl, and an Antimatter generating magical girl. You could also go the route of democratizing Sabrina's griefbending so everybody could make immortal grief bodies held together by sheer force of will that require no atmosphere or food, effectively turning everyone into sane witches and enabling people to have weird rakshasa parties past the end of the universe.

At some point when it most suits him, Kyubey's going to take that decision out of our hands.

We'd better start carrying a bit of her ribbon with us at all times so we can comfort her from a distance if we need to.

Can't do it tonight, though. We need to drop the Metabomb on Sayaka and probably Hitomi, which is probably going to be emotionally exhausting, at least enough so that it'd be smart to take a break before we bomb Mami the last time.

Optimally it'd be possible tomorrow, but we should definitely plan for it to happen within a week in-game or so. The longer we wait, the more opportunity Kyuubey has to dropkick us directly in the heart and start Mami off on Tetris. Once we Witchbomb her, everyone else will be cake by comparison.
