  • [X] Reach out to Sayaka. Hugs as appropriate.
[X] We'll believe in her, until she can learn to believe in herself.
-[X] Sayaka Wished to help us knowing what it meant. That means a lot to us.
-[X] Ask if she wants some perspective on how most new Magical Girls actually are. Like Ono. Ugh.
-[X] Apologize for being a worrywart. But what you're all doing is dangerous, and they're our friends. We don't want to lose anyone.
[X] By the way, we're gonna need lots of help with the influx of Magical Girls we'll have soon.
-[X] Ask her to practise that Cloning power. Note social/combat advantadges if necessary.
[X] Transform stress into happiness through mumihugs.
    [X] Karaoke!
-[X] Have a duet with Mami.
[x] Sit next to Sayaka and comfort her.
[x] Whether she believes it or not, she's doing a great job. It's been less than a week and she's already one of the best melee fighters we know. The fight she gave us just now was one of the toughest one-on-one fights we've ever had. The only people we've faced who are better are ones who've been doing this for years. She's so good that we had to hire one of the best melee fighters in the region to have something new to teach her.
[x] She's our friend. She's someone we can trust and rely upon. We worry about her, yeah, not because she's not strong but because we care. We worry about everyone. We worry about Homura, no matter how powerful she is, we worry about Kyouko... Mami's the greatest, but we worry about her the most of all. We're scared, all the time. Scared of losing the people we love. No matter how strong they are. Magical girls, no matter how strong, are all so fragile, deep down. We can't bear to lose anyone. This is the only family we've ever known.
[x] If she seems to respond positively:
-[x] There's going to be a lot of new magical girls coming to town soon. We're going to be depending on her. Because we know that she's someone we can depend on, someone with a good heart. We think she's amazing.
[X] Sigh. Lean back and swear. Stop the plane.
-[X] Between the payments we're fronting, the training, the group hunts, the being ferried around on a grief platform... From her point of view, it must feel like nothing's changed, huh? She's still being taken care of, paid for, protected... And we don't see it, because all we see is "Sayaka is going to be incredible once things happen" and "who cares about 90k yen, there's more where that came from."
    -[X] cleanse pls
-[X] Some of this is going to be repetitive and stuff she probably already knows but it has to be said.
-[X] Homura and Mami have simple, overriding issues.
--[X] Homura wants WPN dead, which is hard because it could probably walk off a nuke. Training directly helps with that.
--[X] Mami needs -- not wants, needs -- stable friends. The extent of her trauma is very, very ugly, and she has been training people just for the companionship for a long time.
-[X] You, however, have a vast array of problems social and physical and a tendency to over-compartmentalize information, or just outright not think to pass things on, or...
--[X] That isn't as bad as it sounds. Really. But, for instance, you're rather hoping that exposing Kyouko to Sayaka will be good for Kyouko, who has a ton of issues you're not sure if you should talk about because privacy, and who you're really hoping to bring around in part because a reconciliation there would do wonders for Mami. Not that you can tell Kyouko that -- she'd never talk to you again.
---[X] If she tells Kyouko you said that, you'll bop her, you swear. And yes, you are using training partly as an excuse to insert blueberry.
[X] Reach out to Sayaka. Hugs as appropriate.
[X] Give her perspective on how most new Magical Girls would be doing in her stead. Like Ono. Ugh.
-[X] That's part of why we worry so much... but really? Sayaka is very strong already. And we still worry, just like we worry about Mami, and Homura, everyone. Because what we're doing is dangerous, and they're our friends. We don't want to lose anyone.
-[X] Sayaka Wished to help us knowing what it meant. That means a lot to us.
-[X] She'll have her time to shine. We can't handle everything, much as we wish otherwise.
[X] On that note, we're gonna need lots of help with the influx of Magical Girls we'll have soon.
-[X] Ask her to practise that Cloning power. Note social/combat advantadges if necessary.
[X] Transform stress into happiness through mumihugs.
    [X] Karaoke!
-[X] Have a duet with Mami.
    [x] Hug Sayaka.
    - [X] Apologize about how your no good at helping with this type of stuff... really you and social have issues with each other.
    - [X]I cannot make you believe you are useful Sayaka. I can assure you and assuage your doubts all day. I can list everything you can do, and could do and explain how much better your doing then most new girls - I could make graphs if you wanted to, in color. In the end though the choice of belief is with you. But let me tell you something, while it may be true that we can't tell with surety how useful, how great or how well you will act until that moment comes when the chips are down and everything balances on your actions. I don't think, I don't believe you will have an issue in that moment because you took on this mantle of Puella Magi knowing about its costs, its truths and when you offered up your soul for a wish you did not wish for money, or power - you wished to help your friends. That is why I believe you are and will be 'useful' Sayaka, because you are a good person, and a good friend and most puella magi would take a good friend in this line of work over all the combat support in the world.
    - [X] Now... Karaoke
    - [X] With Mami hugs
[X] Reach out to Sayaka. Hugs as appropriate.
[X] She'll have her time to shine. We can't handle everything, much as we wish otherwise speaking of which...
[X] We're gonna need lots of help preparing for and dealing with the influx of Magical Girls we'll have soon to name just one problem she could help with.
-[X] In jest: Alternatively, she can help us and Mami figure out how to fight witches with a railway gun.*
-[X] Help her bounce around ideas if she takes interest.

Honestly, it feels like Sabrina is very much a control freak...You all have a spefic plan for Sayaka, yet what about what Sayaka wants?

A specific plan? We're just giving her training and ideas. It's not like we're regimenting her time or anything--we set up the training schedule according to her preferences, after all, IIRC.

At this point, aside from the training and getting her more powers to copy, it's just brainstorming. Ultimately, if Sayaka decides that she wants to fight Witches, then so long as she doesn't do it alone, that's fine.

Hm. Switching vote to [X] Kaizuki

Having had some time to think it over, I feel like his vote does directly address her concerns more.

I mean, sure, there's trying to get Sayaka and Kyouko together, but that's more of a hobby than some master plan.

This is another reason why I want Sabrina to humble herself and show some humanity and vulnerability to Sayaka. Stop acting like this unflappable heroic figure that she can't live up to. Stop acting like we're better than her. Come down to her level and be her peer, her friend, her equal. Sayaka spends all her time craning her neck to look up at people on her pedestal. No wonder she feels small. Give her neck a rest, let her look us in the eye instead. Let her let go of this inflated ideal of us and realize that she measures up just fine.

That's because Sabrina is a control freak, or at least has a predisposition for being controlling-- just like Homura, and for pretty much the exact same reasons. We were presumably created by a Wish to fix everything. Unfortunately, a lot of the things that need fixing end up being people and their selfish, individualistic desires; there is, broadly speaking, a plan, and people not cooperating with that plan ends up with everyone dying horribly. Worse, we don't get to undo fuckups this time like Homura usually does, because metaphysical temporal mechanics would probably erase us from existence if Homura loops again.

Unfortunately, like Homura, we don't have the ability, luxury, or heart to run everybody's lives for them. Running people's lives makes them miserable, and miserable magical girls end up with everyone dying horribly, so we've had to curb those tendencies. Oriko only consented to being locked in a gilded cage because she believes she's already dead, and if Homura threw Madoka in a dungeon to keep her safe, she'd Wish for freedom.

Fucking SOCIAL, man.

...Is Sabrina a sociopath? With Mami as her obbession?...Everything makes sense now.
Sabrina's definitely not a sociopath. Something of an egotist, though, and definitely very manipulative. And sometimes quite ditzy - I dunno if there's a term for that combination of traits, but all three of those combined with ADHD makes for a very human character.

Not to say Sabrina is anything but Good. We're probably Neutral Good leaning Lawful - We've got a plan, carefully formulated to benefit literally everyone it can as much as is can, and while we very much dislike people deviating from it we're more inclined to work around deviancy than to quash them. That's what Sayaka brings to the table, because Sayaka is 100% Lawful Good. If she agrees with The Plan, we know it's a Good plan (Mami is effectively true Neutral when discussing any Plan because of her dependency issues, and Homura is TN by nature), and she can make sure we stay Good and don't drift into extremism, while we can curb her Absolute Lawfulness and make sure she stays at least somewhat merciful. We complement each other on a personal level.

I definitely think we should bring that up with Sayaka. She benefits us just by being there, power or no. If she wants to stand equal with us on the battlefield then yes she needs a bit of work, but it'll happen, and more importantly she already fills a very valuable role in the group simply by being herself and adding her voice to our Counsel.

I wouldn't say she's a sociopath, but we've had to make concerted efforts in the past to not be Gilgamesh.

Gilgamesh.

The guy who wanted to rape a girl he was interested in? Who also formerly indulged in Prima Nocta? And blinded a girl and tore her heart out. And drained orphans to barely living corpses for almost a decade. And wanted to start an apocalypse that killed off most humanity. Etc. I can go on and on.

Yeah. I don't think it's going to be difficult to avoid being like him.:V

TL;DR: That comparison doesn't really work, and people should really stop using it.

What then would be another very overbearing fiction character that is more suitable?

Why would I know? If you guys want to make comparisons, that's on all of you. Just saying that if you want to do it, at least make it have a modicum of sense.

Sabrina wouldn't even feels the negative effects of grief in her soul gem if she was actually like him. Her ego would be so titanic that she'd keep her sanity as a Witch, or even keep herself from becoming one through pure will-power and egotism.:V

Well, Sabrina is actually compared to another character named Gilgamesh.

Comparisons to Fate Gilgamesh then raised as a joke.

By the way, remember what Masami said about Hiroko tracking things with her powers?
"Eh, Hiroko's got a trick with her illusions that makes tracks and stuff show up," Masami explains. "We mostly use it to find Witches, but since you asked us to look into it..."
If we had known about this before, maybe we could have got her to check the Miki's apartment after the Feathers incident. >_>

Wait another Gilgamesh? Whoops, sorry.

What's he like anyway?
Someone else will have to answer that, as I don't know.

All I know is this.

I won't try writing votes because I don't know how, but regarding the future fight against walpurgisnatch:

¿are you afraid that when walpurgisnatch comes you wouldn't be of much help?

-you don't need to be able to switch powers when fighting it, you can hold on as many as you can before the fight

-you were amazing on the first fight against kyouko, you'll be one of our best assets against walpurgisnatch, if you think you can do better, we think that too, that's what trining is for, you're already better than us at meele.

-belive in us, in the future ther will be a lot, A LOT of fighting, but never forget that, if everything goes well, in about a year or so there will be not need for magical girls to figth ever again, so you should start thinking in other ways to help make the world a better place besides that (this last one we should save for way later and make sure to tell her under a privacy field, which, by the way, we haven't asked her to copy yet)

I'm not telling you we should tell her any of this now, but it would be good to remind her any other day, reminding her periodically the we actually are gonna need her help, and that is a fact that is beyond our control, and reminding her of her many strong points (she's better than us at meele, she's already better than many magical girls; and that it in itself is impressive that she thinks she can be better) is only gonna help, I think. (but then again there is the problem of putting to much pressure unto her...)

EDIT: uhh, maybe what we actually have to do (in the future) if taking pressure off of her by making her doing something useful but not extremely hard, she says she wants to fight alongside us, but we're not sure of when is gonna be our next big fight besides walpurgisnatch; maybe instead of being with us we could give her her own team of magical girls, once the new girls start comming we could try to get them to work together with sayaka and be the responsibles for hunting witches in town / organising and controling the other magical girls that are incoming.

Teenager always want to do the big and "important" things, but always forget that they can take as much pleassure on doing the small and necessary/useful things.
