"It is a different thing to see it," she says, and grins. "I will carry word of you, as far as I go. You will be famous."
I don't know if we could've timed this better if we'd tried.
"Nah, race me!" Sayaka says with a wide smirk.

"Yes, that," you say, pointing a finger at Sayaka.
Diplosayaka is also working out excellently. This is amazing and I'm so happy we brought her.
Nadia barks an amused laugh, popping off the wall. "I have heard that one!" she says.

Rei groans, burying her face in her hands. "There are people out there who know me as one of the Touhou girls," she mutters in mortified despair.
The blue haired girl hands one over to you, and you accept it with a smile. Mami gives you a little smile, wrapping her arm around your waist and nestling closer as you take a few breaths to center yourself.

"... by the way," you say, starting to reach into the Grief Seed with your will. "Look, you're the Tohoku University group, right?"
Side note: This is an excellently timed recovery from the little seriousface about Grief Seeds. I approve. Keep doing that, Sabrina.
"Of course," you say. "Well... to be honest, if someone comes after you for the Clear Seed, and you can't fight back, you might as well just give it to them. I can always make you a new one, and then I can go after them. Better that than you get hurt, right?"
I'm actually starting to think that we should be giving everybody two Clear Seeds: One for themselves, and one to give as a gift if appropriate. We'd still have to be informed, because we're not willing to let anybody walk away with one and would want to go therapy the meguca anyway, but it'd make conversations like this easier.

You are giving away your Clear Seeds," Nadia says. "They are probably the most valuable things in the world right now, fimti?"

The value of grief seeds makes the most sense when compared to subsistence wages, since they're required to live. The converted poverty line in Japan is ~$24,000USD annually, so if a grief seed lasts two weeks, that implies a value of ~1000USD.

Clear seeds have a value of ~200k grief seeds, so each clear seed we give out has a rough value of around 200 million US dollars (although, given we plan to saturate the market, that won't last). For now, there are a small number of artistic works that are more valuable, but Bennouna's assesment is generally correct.

When someone points a gun at you, you give them your wallet. Same principle.
Your comparison between the two situations is somewhat less than accurate imo. I just feel that telling friendly meguca to roll over to aggressors without a fight sets rather terrible precedent for all involved, making them solely reliant on Sabrina for any sort of long term existence. *shrugs* We obviously feel different about the matter.

It doesn't take you too much longer to complete the Clear Seed, sending the last of the Grief sailing out through the window in billowing wisps. You collect it all into the titanic, brooding mass sitting on the window - at this point, you have enough to build a small apartment building in its entirety. Or a hotel.

YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!

MAMIGOLD HOTEL IS GO!

Oh wait, can't wait yet. Damn.

:V
Mami smiles at you, eyes warm. "You've done a good thing," she says softly.

Not softly enough, it turns out. Nadia belts out a loud laugh. "I said it earlier, but you are mad, Sabrina," she says.
OK, I think this is the second time, so I'm pretty sure Nadia's got some hearing enhancement enchantments going on.

I want one. Not that it wasn't part of the previous vote we didn't have time to finish, but re-stating. I want one.

Additionally: anybody that's willing to attack a group that holds a Clear Seed is probably very short on cleansing and in a preeeeetty bad mindset as a result. I wouldn't be surprised if first contacts with distressed meguac go quite a bit better if they have cleansing available.

Need teleprotation. How get? Maek sakura happy by fix Akiko. Akiko: our greatest failure. How fix? Firnagzen: "make scrooge mcduck pool of grif seeds. Place akiko in pool." Catgirl: throw a clear seed at her?

Fix Akiko!

Sabrina did say "if you can't fight them", so I think the comparison is apt. We're not asking them to hand it over to a newbie if she makes a fuss. Seeds can be replaced, lives can't, so if it comes down to it the Seed should be sacrificed.

Guys, guys, I know you don't want to think about this horrifying fact, but. Sayaka's. Got. Invisibility.

Be. Scared.

...

And imagine Homu's face in a couple of days. The sheer consternation seeing how everything goes well for Sayaka despite her being Sayaka.

I think this valuation is a little high, because it should be more like food costs than total cost of living, I'd think?

Having grief seeds doesn't help you with rent unless you're breaking into places like Koko.

Also a valuation that's higher than anyone would pay for it doesn't mean that much, and no Meguca is likely to have 200 million on hand. So functionally they're not worth that, but maybe a life debt or something.

I'm waiting for the look on Sayaka's face when she spars with Kyoko again with all her shiny new powers and she still loses.

Should we remind Bennouna to send us the sane ones first?

We're gonna need help to deal with the flood of megucas that's gonna crash into Mitakihara in the future.

Also, bow to Sayaka and beg her not to abuse her invisibility powers.

Little does she know we'll be able to sense her anyway. ;)

YYYYYYesssssssssss.

We really need to be there for the next time those two run into each other.

...I also hope we get to bring Mami. That sounds like a wonderfully positive interaction and it'd be a good way to recover from the inevitable stress and sads from Mami+Kyouko meeting each other and talking it back out.

Sayaka stores the copied powers within crystals, right? Does she just carry them in her pockets or something?

*momentarily imagines her copying a power to summon things as if they're Eidolons* :V
