Nadia barks an amused laugh, popping off the wall. "I have heard that one!" she says.

And yet she didn't know what was up with "Yukari"? Maybe she heard it and didn't get the reference.

... plums don't even grow on vines. And you're pretty sure that was a grape vine she grew the plums on, which is just all kinds of wrong, but then again, magic is such bullshit.

Are we sure they're not giant grapes?

Sayaka Powers Copied

Ribbon Control (Tomoe Mami, Mitakihara)
Unstoppability (Nadia Bennouna, Traveler)
Cloning (Koizumi Aki, Ishinomaki)
Earth Control (Inoue Yuuna, Ishinomaki)
Lightning Control (Sato Kimiko, Ishinomaki)
Hypnosis (Kagome Ayaka, Ishinomaki)
Wings (Tsubaki Chouko, Touhoku University)
Plant Control (Suzuki Haru, Touhoku University)
Paper Control (Suzuki Rei, Touhoku University)
Invisibility (Umeko Yuko, Touhoku University)

Just a list, for future reference.
Sayaka Power List:

- Ribbons (Mami)
- Unstoppable force (Nadia)

From Ishinomaki:
- Cloning (Koizumi Aki)
- Geokinesis (Inoue Yuuna)
- Lightning (Sato Kimiko)
- Super Eyesight (Ueda Miyako)
- Hypnosis (Kagome Ayaka)

From the Tohoku Group:
- Flight (Tsubaki Chouko)
- Plant control (Suzuki Haru)
- Paper control (Suzuki Rei)
- Invisibility (Umeko Yuko)

You know, flight is kind of redundant; an upgrade, rather than a new power.

Also you know, Cloning+Invisibility+Hypnosis and I'm really glad Sayaka's a Paladin sort of gal.
You missed super eyesight, by the way. :p

Should Sayaka use her clone power to accompany us on school days?
This of course is assuming Sabrina and co. are not occupied with other matters that have cropped up.
Sabrina and co. is going to be a rapidly expanding group very shortly, and the current membership may include a teleporter even more shortly. The longer we go, the larger and more powerful our group gets and the more can be delegated.

She needs to practice her clone skill first.

I suspect Sakura might not want her power copied.

Should prepare to try and convince her? It's a very important power to have.

[ ] "If you don't let my friend copy your power, guess who am I gonna bug whenever I need to get somewhere super quickly in case of emergency?"

I do not think we're gonna only offer the Clear Seed in exchange for power copying, so no bargaining power there.

Maybe we can promise to try and fix Akiko? Try and get professionals on it?

Make a good faith effort to talk to Akiko first, before even mentioning power copying? If we do, she'd probably be more willing...

Need to wait until Mami is at School before we can deal with QB.
I don't think that's necessary. Mami's doing a lot better; I don't doubt she still hates the Incubator, but I don't think she'll have a mental breakdown if we head off to a nearby rooftop to "chat" with him.

We do need to dump this grief. Firn repeatedly bringing it up is setting off my author sense in a bad way. And we have some questions we ought to ask too - Things mostly along the lines of how precisely his Entropy-defying power generators work. People claim we can't replace them, but we won't know for certain until we actually talk to an Incubator and ask the question.

Not me. I'm pretty sure that we can use magic to create new energy sources, should the need arise. Summon some hydrogen to make new stars out of and you're golden.

Invisibility + Super Eyesight to act as a spotter for a sniper (Mami or Homura).
Or for scouting and surveillance, at least.

The value of grief seeds makes the most sense when compared to subsistence wages, since they're required to live. The converted poverty line in Japan is ~$24,000USD annually, so if a grief seed lasts two weeks, that implies a value of ~1000USD.

Clear seeds have a value of ~200k grief seeds, so each clear seed we give out has a rough value of around 200 million US dollars (although, given we plan to saturate the market, that won't last). For now, there are a small number of artistic works that are more valuable, but Bennouna's assesment is generally correct.
Well, so long as we're talking about things of roughly equivalent size. I'm pretty sure that warships are more expensive. Particularly supercarriers and nuclear submarines.

There are also things that are literally priceless, like the US Constitution (the physical document)--unique items of immense historical and cultural value.

But yes, Nadia's statement is essentially true, especially with the qualifier "for magical girls". When Clear Seeds are basically singular objects to lift people out of risking their lives constantly to just to survive week by week, they become extremely valuable.

Anyway, I can't help but think of Sayaka's realization when she gets back home:

"I have so many powers now! This is awesome!"

*Beat*

"Oh god, I'm going to be training forever."

You know, I don't participate in this quest, but I always love coming by to read the updates, especially recently. Things feel much warmer, and people are kind. No one's dying horribly. There isn't as much crying as there was earlier, and there's more hugs.

Leaves a nice feeling in my stomach.

It's why we're here. Break this damn system over our knee, and give everyone a happy ending.

Sayaka has Hypnotism and can copy Jutsu Powers, and has Enhanced Visual Prowess. If she gets filled with despair, she goes nuts and unlocks new bullshit abilities. Clearly she's an Uchiha. :V
If Sayaka ever gets Explosion powers and somehow mixes it with the Paper control she'll have the all the things necessary to recreate Konan's most destructive technique.

Timestop still beats it at those :V

Paper Control can be pretty bullshit if you know what you're doing. I've seen a character who (during WW2) used Paper Control to imbue books with AI copies of himself that stick around even after he dies.

"This land is peaceful, its inhabitants kind..."

"Force Your Opponent To Revel Their Hax No Jutsu!"

Also, with elemental powers, flight, paper control, and cloning, Sayaka can do a scary good Konan cosplay. :V
We should get her a copy of the Naruto volume where Konan fights Obito.

Nothing else, just that volume.

And then watch her go ballistic over it. Meanwhile, Sabrina is just sitting next to Mumi with some pink hair dye and a red dress going, "so you don't want to do cosplay?"
