Also, we are not spider-man. If they go after our loved ones to try and extort us, they will have pissed off Mami "kindofabigdeal" Tomoe, Sabrina T. "grief lantern" Velocity, and Homura "Timestop murder" Akemi. No amount of enchanting could make it any worse of an idea to fuck with favorite civvies.
You're assuming that our enemies will be genre-savvy enough to realize what a big mistake they're making by attacking the hero's loved ones. Villains don't think that way.
The power to avenge an attack isn't going to do us much good if they've already succeeded in hurting Madoka or her family... or worse, putting them in enough danger that she contracts to protect them and destroys the world. Which she would, because she's still completely unaware that will happen.
I don't necessarily like all the enchantments that TheEyes is suggesting or think they need to be done in the next hour, but people are
so dismissive of the idea of
ever taking
any precautions that I can only assume that they've gotten into the bad habit of assuming that we're always going to win and nothing seriously bad will ever happen. The blunt fact of the matter is that Sabrina has taken a pretty serious beating in every meguca-on-meguca fight she's ever been in. Broken arm, impaled leg, lacerated torso. We can ignore pain and heal wounds, but if we keep being reckless then one of the days we or someone we're protecting is going to suffer consequences that aren't so easily undone.
We already know that there are factions in Tokyo that don't want our powers upsetting the status quo. If they decide to make certain by putting a sniper outside our detection range and putting one through our gem, can we stop them? Of course, the QM wouldn't want to end the quest so abruptly, but what if they miss and hit one of our friends? What if Mami, whose awareness and instincts are much sharper than ours, does sense the sniper and takes the bullet for us? Sabrina's part of a team, and when we neglect her safety, we don't just endanger her, we endanger them, too.
