Dark purple/black if you don't look too closely, maddening fractals of every color and more if you do. And we have, I'm pretty sure.
And, IIRC, changing the color makes the Grief "witchy". At the very lease, making it transparent/invisible definitely does, which is why we let it hang around in a big eye-rending blob all the time.

We're not very good at enchantments anyway. We don't even have time to make a workable, useful enchantment before meeting her. Unless her power is literally just "I can point at you and knock you out" levels of broken like ours (in which case- literally the only defense would be knocking her out first) some grief shielding at most for our gems should be more than enough.

Also, we are not spider-man. If they go after our loved ones to try and extort us, they will have pissed off Mami "kindofabigdeal" Tomoe, Sabrina T. "grief lantern" Velocity, and Homura "Timestop murder" Akemi. No amount of enchanting could make it any worse of an idea to fuck with favorite civvies.

Again, note, griefhaxing up the thing to help with enchantments can take as much as half an hour. We don't really have that much time, especially since Mami and Sabrina still need to get cleaned up and ready for meeting with Benny.

That does raise a question: @Firnagzen does it take less time to griefhax an item that we've made once before, or is practice irrelevant in this case? Will the enchantment-enhancer take a half hour to make this time, seeing as we've done it a couple times before?

"Trust your neighbor, but lock your door." These are simple, bare minimum precautions that are easy to implement, cover a wide range of contingencies for the effort invested, and, thanks to Mami, easy to replicate. The only reason not to do them is if you believe that, of the tens of thousands of reality-warping, emotionally disturbed teenage child soldiers around the world, none of them are going to be desperate or greedy enough to try to coerce us to give them a Clear Seed. That strikes me as incredibly short-sighted.

You're assuming that our enemies will be genre-savvy enough to realize what a big mistake they're making by attacking the hero's loved ones. Villains don't think that way.

The power to avenge an attack isn't going to do us much good if they've already succeeded in hurting Madoka or her family... or worse, putting them in enough danger that she contracts to protect them and destroys the world. Which she would, because she's still completely unaware that will happen.

I don't necessarily like all the enchantments that TheEyes is suggesting or think they need to be done in the next hour, but people are so dismissive of the idea of ever taking any precautions that I can only assume that they've gotten into the bad habit of assuming that we're always going to win and nothing seriously bad will ever happen. The blunt fact of the matter is that Sabrina has taken a pretty serious beating in every meguca-on-meguca fight she's ever been in. Broken arm, impaled leg, lacerated torso. We can ignore pain and heal wounds, but if we keep being reckless then one of the days we or someone we're protecting is going to suffer consequences that aren't so easily undone.

We already know that there are factions in Tokyo that don't want our powers upsetting the status quo. If they decide to make certain by putting a sniper outside our detection range and putting one through our gem, can we stop them? Of course, the QM wouldn't want to end the quest so abruptly, but what if they miss and hit one of our friends? What if Mami, whose awareness and instincts are much sharper than ours, does sense the sniper and takes the bullet for us? Sabrina's part of a team, and when we neglect her safety, we don't just endanger her, we endanger them, too.

Because at this point if Mami dies, we will instawitchout, which will end the quest. And the QM has already stated that magical girls wont try to steal any of out soul gems because 'And I do quote.
This isn't the kind of story where bad things happen for no good reason, either.
In all honesty unless if a social fucks up horribly Sabrina will be fine until at least Wallynights appointment.

  • [X] WAFF more with Mami. Drop a comment about angels because wings. Those wings are awesome.
[X] Bring up your idea about how Mami's magic is about connections, and tandem magic between you and her possibly letting you keep all your friends' soul gems cleaned at all times.
[X] Kiss Mami on the cheek when you land. She's the best.
[X] Undertake whatever preparations are needed for the meeting, then look to practice enchantment with Mami.
[X] Talk about fixing table-chan. You could decorate it in the process. You want it to be a joint effort in some way so that it'll be something the two of you will have made together. (Ideas on our end: melt it down, recompose it)
[X] If Mami has other ideas for how to spend the time instead of that, go along with them.

Especially since Mami probably estimated that hour tightly. I'm pretty sure that we'll be spending a good chunk of that hour taking showers. We'll probably get some Lifeline/White Ribbons research in, but the rest will mostly be planning+hypotheticals with Mami.

(or we'll each be practicing our enchants while standing outside the shower waiting for the other person, that's also possible.)

No.

Nadia. If you want to call her something short, just call her by her name, not this... this thisness.

And the vote would've been completely unanimous if it weren't for that damn Matou with that edgy vote!

*Shakes fist*

I fully intended to make a more comprehensible vote before they are counted.

[X] Godwinson

It's not like Firnagzen calls the vote at inconvenient times or updates with inhuman speed.

Find a clone power for Sayaka.
Do you... Do you think they would each be able to copy powers?

Develop personalities...

Go rampant and attempt to take out Mitakihara?

Far too risky...

In semi-lighter news, I just got a co-worker to watch Madoka Magica, he's on episode 4 and he hates me so much right now :D

If Sayaka's version of that one girl's clone power can independently acquire powers of their own...

Or maybe, if the "Sayaka can copy multiple powers simultaneously" theory is true, all the clones share all powers they aquire across the whole group...

Scary.

We'd have to make it a priority to get Koko her wish magic back. Or get really good at Chibis and combine it with full setting-breaker range extension. Fighting fire with fire is the only response to such a pestilence.

Sayaka becomes world empress before us. A hundred thousand blueberries each with a hundred thousand powers. Homura tearfully offers to take us with her as she resets the timeline. :V
