On this topic, I'll make a request here to everybody.

This is really important. A hiccup here could be disastrous. Since thread activity directly affects Sabrina and the quest, keeping the tone up until the next update gets posted is really important. We're already committed here, and hesitating could permanently harm Mami and Sabrina. Not just their relationship, them personally.

The thing is, just one post doesn't do much. It's the thread as a whole that matters, and the thread is the discussion. What does this mean? You need to ignore posts that'd disturb Sabrina. It only takes two people to have a conversation. If someone posts something bad, they're just one person. Don't be the second person that turns their single post into a conversation. PM them if you have to, or post mamis to distrct yourself and everybody else. But I'm asking you, personally, me to you, not to respond publicly. Hell, don't even respond to me now. Just read this post and move on with your day. And when someone comes in and says something badwrong - and it's going to happen - do the same thing. Post a Mami and move on. <3

You, sir, are astoundingly lucky I'm on a train and not ready to write my omake right now.

Do you think you could hold off on posting it until after the next update? We want Brina's mindset to be perfect, so that a stray thought doesn't accidentally ruin anything. Well, unless you've decided that you'll write fluff from now on, in which case FLUFF FOR THE FLUFF GOD HUGS FOR THE HUG THRONE.

You don't need to be that uptight about this. It won't help matters if you are :p

And kisses Mami in the nose.
On the forehead would also work.

Reactive shield (a broach)
I assume this is like a Dune/Stargate style shield that only blocks fast-moving things.

I think that a priority over a lie detector would be a private telepathy router, so we can talk to people in the middle of a conversation without having to involve Kyubey. Especially when we're dealing with groups with irregular bomb coverage and with weird psych problems, that's a big deal. Also, reactive force field may not be necessary if we pull the force field part down to just cover our gem. Also also, this is relatively short-term, so we can use speckled enchantments to make it go faster.
Telepathy comms are probably going to take a while to develop, since they're going to be leaving our vicinity and have to be pure magic without any grief. Probably not happening today.

If we only wanted to protect our gem, we'd skip the forcefield and just put grief armor over it.

That's why I specified we should have Mami (or somebody else we know for a fact she can safely copy) nearby to switch away from precog when necessary.
Sayaka can choose to release a power that she's copying without needing to copy a different one.

For now, I'm actually thinking personal-range comms to start with. Most of the use cases we've had had been "talk to Homura|Madoka|Mami without having to talk around everybody else in the room", and a 100m range limit on that isn't an issue.

One of the requirements is that it's not witchy, otherwise people get antsy, so speckled enchantments.

IIRC speckled enchantments are also faster than griefhax. I am likely misremembering that.

For the first gen version, sure. What I ultimately want to do is tie it into a precognitive danger sense enchantment, so the barrier goes up the second any kind of dangerous/hostile action could happen in the near future, but that's likely to be a long-term project and not something we can get done in an hour. For now an anti-sniper shield broach is a decent stopgap for emergency protection, and decent stopgaps are all we really have time for at this juncture.

It... depends. It's basically slower, because speckled enchantments are 'normal' enchantments... assisted with griefhax. When we made speckled enchants, we first made a griefhax witchy enchantment assist bracelet, then used that to make 'normal' speckled enchantments.

Eh, we can fill our range with super small bits of Grief and used those to detect movement. Or just will a speckled enchantment to do the same; then set up the speckled enchantment to discriminate objects based on their movement speed and direction, and make it trigger an 'automated' defense whenever a way-too-fas-moving object is detected making their way towards a person's projected path.

Also, we still haven't got around creating them non-witchy Grief eyes. More detection is always good.

For some reason, I feel an intense need to ask this question.
Can Mami change a lightbulb using one of her hair drills?

And a salute to those brave souls voting their hearts on MamiQuest. It's too much to ask—Mami going in for the kiss on the same impulse as Sabrina—but you'll do your best to make it happen anyway.
