What Madoka will be doing is watching a bunch of child soldiers engage in the magical girl equivalent of water politics, and without the visceral understanding of how life-and-death important it all is because she doesn't get that, to a meguca, access to cleansing is as important as access to water is to someone living in a desert.
She knows we're cleaning souls. She knows souls are important. She might not have the personal experience in grief economics that Kyoko does, but then neither does Sayaka and we're bringing her along.

That doesn't change that they have the same level of experience with seed scarcity.
Maybe. Though Sayaka needs that experience and exposure far more than Madoka. I'm with TheEyes and see no good reason to bring the latter along at this time. Another thing to consider- do you really expect Homura to be kosher in the least with bringing Madoka close to dozens of untrusted/unknown meguca? I have doubts about it.

Yeah, well, one of the reasons we're bringing Sayaka along on this trip in the first place is to give her a crash course in how the other 99% live in terms of Grief economics. I fully expect her to say something insentensive at some point and get roundly criticized; she needs a rude awakening and this is a good way to give her one in a relatively controlled setting.

Madoka, in contrast, doesn't need the same "school of hard knocks" intro to being a meguca, because she, unlike Saya, hasn't promised not to Contract and then turned around a few days later and did it behind our backs. We have time for a more gentle introduction with Madoka, but Sayaka already jumped into the deep end, so we would be remiss if we didn't rub her face in the fact that there are sharks in the water and she needs to be careful from now on.

"Make your own version of the story," you say, smiling and waving a pancake laden fork at them. Mami smiles at you. "There's no reason you can't tell a different story with the same pieces, right?"
Well, that's definitely not foreshadowing... I guess, as long as we can convince her to keep herself on the board this time...

I would note that not all English speakers pronounce R and L the same. So if your wondering how the R sound in Japanese would sound to your ears, open up a Youtube page/app and search for someone speaking/singing in Japanese.

Where I live we pretty much pronounce R the same as in most anime/music I listen to. I heard Kokoro sung as Kokolo once however.

I'm definitely okay with Madoka meeting with Banana-nana, but I agree it'd be like bringing infantry to a tank meeting if we brought her on the trip proper. If something went down, Madoka would literally just die right there, and that would send everyone in Mitakihara into despair.

But to continue Operation Batmadoka, I think a bit of politicking would actually be good for Madoka, and potentially helpful for us as well.

Do Misami and Hiroko and Ono need anything we could provide? They're safe enough, I think Homura would agree. Madoka could also visit Kyouko and Yuma, maybe to work out payment for using Yuma's healing if we need it, or even a bit of Ghetto Self-Defense; Kyouko Style. Obviously it wouldn't be free or anywhere near the level Sayaka will face, but if Madoka had a general understanding of How Not to Die when Meguca Kill You, I think Homurun would sleep sounder at night.

Honestly, we could probably take Madoka to our next sparring session and see what we can do. She doesn't need to be a magical girl to learn how to throw a punch.

The "school of hard knocks" gives everybody brain damage. I think that Sayaka was perfectly on course to keeping her promise right up to the point where Feathers interfered and after that there wasn't much we could have done. I think that condescending toward her like you've been doing is the cause of most of her bad behavior, c.f. the O&K argument where escalating just made her mad and the resolution was to let her deal with it herself and give her space to think about it. So no, I think that we don't try to fuck this up. We brief her on grief seeds and how stressful these things are, impress upon her how important it is that this goes well by putting the cleansing trip into perspective as a peaceful proof-of-concept, and before each meeting give her a rundown on the people she's about to meet and what their hot-buttons are. For example, we'll have to tell her that they don't know the lichbomb and to keep that secret. She's additionally still implicitly treating us as sempai and team leader, and I expect her to keep her head under those circumstances now that we're resolved on O&K.

That's why I'm wondering if we can get a telepresence setup running for her.

heeeeeee, that's a fun idea. Send Madoka and Homura with a Clear Seed to negotiate with Kyouko while we're off cleansing?

Doesn't Koko already have a clear seed? There's diminishing returns on that; I'd say about 1 CS per group of Meguca will probably be the norm - It's still a lifetime of cleanses.

I was rather thinking cash. Kyouko's homeless, right? I bet she'd be quite happy to be on our payroll; the real hard part would be finding something we need her to do that would be worth the money. Let's not run a Charity, but an Industry.

I believe we didn't give her one yet. We claimed we were still working out the kinks.

You're placing more faith in an impulsive 14 year old girl with a Justice! streak a mile long than I would, but okay.

If she's not okay with clear seeds, then we'll probably have to go in person. That said, agree with handing Kyouko some cash as well.

Do we think we'll end up taking Mami to talk to Kyouko? We if so, we'll have to ask her if she wants anybody else along with her. If not, we probably want to leave her with Madoka and Homura for support, maybe Sayaka unless we want her to be in on the negotiations with Kyouko for her training? Actually, if we do Kyouko before cleansing trip, that might be a way to slowly ease her into the idea that other girls live on Grief Seeds.

If you think that she won't be able to come on this trip without starting a fight, then she shouldn't be coming and you should have spoken up long before now.

Homuplomancy+Kyouplomancy, while one is reigned in by Madoka and other by Yuma?
That's...interesting picture, but I think Kyouko would expect to see us personally, what with us being almost her friend and all.

Well of course we're going to prepare Sayaka beforehand for the tricky political situation, and give her a short lecture on how the rest of the meguca world works. I'm just certain that, as was the case with O+K last night, that it won't help much, and that she'll need to meet them, and possibly stick her foot in her mouth once or twice, before she really gets it.

Madoka, in contrast, is empathetic enough that she wouldn't need to do this, and in fact we have a better way of introducing her to the wide world of traumatized megucas by getting Homura to open up to her. After all, they'll be spending the day together; this is a perfect time to get the two of them to bond more, while the rest of the group is off doing this cleansing trip.

If Homura is worried about Madoka coming along, why can't we just suggest that Homura come along, too, and keep Madoka safe?

I mean, between Sabrina, Mami, Homura, and Sayaka, Madoka would be very well protected. And it's not like we'd be meeting anyone we don't already know (and don't know the abilities of).

We could tell Kyoko, Masami and Hiroko that we're all going to be out of town today and they can feel free to hunt here?
That's an interesting idea. Of course, we might want to avoid telling both parties that, since if they both decide to hunt in Mitakihara and run into the same Witch, it could be problematic...

Plus, we do owe Kyoko more, right?

...I just had a thought, though I doubt it's a good one. We could invite Kyoko and Yuma along for the trip, but then I realized that with Mami along, it would be super-awkward unless they could reconcile at the start.

I just think Madoka would be better off, and more effective, if she went on a date spent the day with Homura, just the two of them. Homura would be better off too, more relaxed, maybe even willing to open up a little?

Let's leave Mommy and Mommy to have some alone time.

That's great and all, but telling someone "no, don't come with me, I want you to hang out alone with this person I ship you with instead" is unpalatable.

We need to introduce Kyouko to Homura (by telepathy if nothing else) so Kyouko can call her if she needs help when we're out of town, but we can't just send a meguca that Kuouko's never met into her territory. That way lies blue-on-blue fire incidents.

We should go over there, pay Kyouko some cash and refresh her seeds to make sure she's okay while we're away as payment for services rendered, and use that opportunity to introduce her to Homura.

Taking Madoka to meet meguca that we barely know is both reckless and pointless. People seem to have exaggerated notions of Madoka's capabilities. She's not a diplomat or a psychologist. She's a middle-school student with absolutely zero ability to defend herself.

[X] Homura's paranoid, but in this case she's also right. It's our first time going there since the war, and we don't know what to expect. It's only been a week since the fighting stopped in Sendai and Ishinomaki. We need to let peace settle in a bit before it'll safe to take noncombatants there.
