"The work" is "Puella Magi Adfligo Systema". It is loosely based on a popular magical girl series. It cannot "trump" the author because it is written by "the author", who is Firnagzen. If the author says Madoka's hair is green in this story, IT IS GREEN. If the author says a strange new magical girl with bullshit grief-control powers shows up, ONE DOES.

No, "the work" in that quote was "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" and "the author" was Urobuchi. In addition, the work "Puella Magi Adfligo Systema" still trumps the author Firnagzen, despite being written by him, because there are things Firnagzen states that are not part of the work "Puella Magi Adfligo Systema". In the case that Firnagzen said that "a strange new magical girl with bullshit grief-control powers never showed up" he'd be wrong because that would contradict what he said in the work. This applies even if he made a mistake in the work (eg. he added an extra zero in a number in the work. If he does, that number is the canon one).

If Firnagzen said that Madoka's hair is green, it would contradict statements he has made in the past, meaning that again, he can't be right for all of them and was wrong about at least some.

When Stephanie Meyer says that it's a "normal relationship", she is talking about in regard to Real Life, which she is not the author of, so she can absolutely be wrong, because that would mean that she is saying that not only is the relationship normal in context of the Twilight universe, but that what constitutes a normal relationship in the context of the Twilight universe matches what constitutes a normal relationship in the context of Real Life, which is capable of being a contradiction and thus wrong.

Trivial Direct Refutation By Hypothetical Situation Matching Circumstances Of Claim said:
Madoka fights a hair dye witch. The next time we see her she has green hair. The witch effect lingers and makes it seem unremarkable because the witch was upset nobody ever noticed. We don't ask, and she doesn't tell, so it isn't explained in the story and readers are clueless. The narrative PoV acts as if it were normal and her hair had always been green. Sereg freaks out about the contradiction for several updates, completely missing the point, until we figure it out in a later update which explains it and falsifies all Sereg's ranting.
Now please, let's return to the topic and stop disrupting the thread. Things here work how Firnagzen says they do. Even if it contradicts other things said, both stay true until the WoG resolution says otherwise.

Can either of them actually throw a punch?
Can Firnagzen bring himself to punch this:

Uhhhh this is a bad time and place to bring up Kyoko, and with her severe dependency issues, telling her we want her to be friends with Kyoko again is going to hurt. Clinging. Broken ribcage.
--[X] Supportive tone: Tell Mami that you've been making some peace overtures to Kyouko, and you've made some progress. You hope that perhaps in time, the two of them will be able to reconcile.
---[X] You're staying with Mami for good - this isn't a replacement thing or anything. It's just... If you can try and mend a broken friendship, you should, shouldn't you?
--[X] As necessary, explain Kyouko's situation: She's had serious emotional issues for a while now, and more recently there's been no Witches to hunt; but she's taking care of Yuma now, which has been forcing her to become a better person.
This will make her feel like shit, by the way. "Hey remember that girl you considered a sister that ran away from you? You should totally find her and be friends with her again. She's been pretty messed up lately. You don't want her to feel rejected by you do you? She's even raising a kid."

Like, seriously the first line is enough to almost make her cry and cling, the rest of it is overkill with her ridiculous dependency issues- trying to convince her will just terrify her into complying because otherwise Sabrina might not like her and in her head that scenario is surrounded by red flashing lights, ear shattering alarm buzzers and giant ten gallon buckets of self loathing. We have to revise or remove those lines.

Please. I don't even know where the sudden 'Mumi reconcile with Koko' thing came from.

At most, keep easing Mami into it by asking permission in Kyouko's behalf to enter Mitakihara and train Sayaka.

Yeah, we jumped from easing her towards reconciliation via the half-facade of "training," all the way to "Sabrina demands you reconcile with a person who you separated with because she decided that being a mass murderer was okay."

This is one of the worst betrayals in her life, and we're treating it with all the tact of something something metaphor.

There was a reason the plan was to do things in steps, and ease Kyouko back towards Mitakihara.

Honestly, I'm not sure why we're so worried that Mami will object to Kyouko coming back. I don't recall her particularly objecting in Different Story, just wanting to know why she left and why she returned.

The "you" in the vote refers to Sabrina, not Mami. Mami isn't being asked to do anything.

I think that Mami very much would want Kyouko to come back and be her friend again. She probably hoped for that for a long time after Kyouko walked out. I just don't think that having Kyouko undermine her by training Sayaka is a good way to do that. It'll make Mami feel like she's being forced out of her role as magical girl sempai and replaced by someone else.

I'm also not sure now is the time to bring this up, between the metabomb and the Orikobomb, but it seems that people won't be dissuaded.

[X] Head home and talk on the way.
[X] You're happy Sayaka thinks a lot better of Homura now. Homura means well, but she 's terrible at talking to people, so she made a bad first impression.
[X] On the subject of burying the hatchet...
-[X] Tell Mami that you've been making some peace overtures to Kyouko, and they seem to be working. You know how much losing her hurt Mami, and you want to try to help. You're hoping that with time, you might be able to heal the rift between the two of them.
--[X] As necessary, explain Kyouko's situation: She's still a mess from what happened to her family and she's been living on the streets this whole time. She's too prideful to accept much help, but Grief Seeds have been short lately, so she's been coming to you for cleansing. She's still got a pretty bad attitude, but she's taking care of Yuma now, which has been forcing her to become a better person. You don't think she's a lost cause.
[X] How does Mami feel about this?

I don't want to surprise Mami with an emotionally fraught subject when we've consistently (and recently) underestimated her emotional fragility. Kyouko's training isn't that time-sensitive.

Can't we just go see Oriko and Kirika and give them cupcakes like we told Mami we would?

[X] Ask Mami if we still have time to check in on Oriko and Kirika and give them cupcakes. (Can fly if necessary.)
- [X] If yes, check with Kirika that it's okay to come over, and then do so.
- [X] Try to address any concerns they have, make sure they're still okay with potentially meeting Sayaka later today.
- [X] Ask if Kirika found out anything about Kuroki Matsuko online.
[X] Eat lunch and prepare for the picnic with Mami.
- [X] Ask if there are any games or things she'd like to bring along besides the food.

[X] Julian Bradshaw

Yeah. Out in public on a routine walk is not when you talk about Kyoko to Mami. The subject hurts, and it should handled carefully.

See here?
Sayaka hops to her feet. "Well, I'm headed home for now!" she says, exaggeratedly casual. "Probably to the hospital after that!"

Mami giggles, leaning comfortably into your side. "I suppose we should head home, too?" she asks.

"Yeah," you agree. "See you two at the picnic later?"

"See you later," Homura agrees. She rises to her feet, expression calm and placid once more.
Nobody know this but Homura's actually ambivalent about asking if she can join us for lunch.

"Mami can we go to Oriko's and give them the cupcakes?"

'Cup noodles it is.'
