That's lifted straight from Different Story and Pleaides, to be honest. And the original series, of course. We straight up see two magical girls abandon Mami because they were sick of her standards in the opening of Different story, and then when Kyouko leaves her, she flashes back to another three. And of course, Kazumi is another, and Kyouko herself.
