Actually, has Homura ever let us hug her outside of timestop? She seems unwilling to let her guard down without being hidden in the moment between moments.
Don't think so.

... Sooo... if we want Homu get to used to hugs...

1- Timestop Brinahugs (super safe, never anyone watching).

2- Private Brinahugs (sans timestop, nobody watching).

3- Brinahugs when Mami's around ('cause Mami's almost always inside Sabrina's personal space, or very close).

4- Mami-Brina-hugs (can Homu take a double hug??? :o )

5- Brinahugs while in friendly company.

6- Casual Brinahugs.

7- Grouphugs.

From here Homu can branch out into other, non-Brina hugs.

.... we need to get her a BUNCH of calming tea ... and maybe have Madoka asleep in front of her.... in Mami's apartment... with the doors locked... and Kyoko on QB patrol... and Sabrina giving her a massage.... after we've gone past where history ends for her....

then maybe she might relax enough to give her a hug.
I think you've got something mixed up here.
Sabrina giving her a massage
then maybe she might relax enough to give her a hug.
Like, really, if we can convince Homu to let us give her a massage, I don't think we're gonna have much trouble asking for Homuhugs. :V

EDIT: When was the last time Sabrina hugged Homu? Can't let the girl think she's off the hook, can we?

So, while trying to figure out when the last time we hugged Homura was (latest one I found so far was right before we went looking for Sasa), I was looking through the story-only thread and found this:
"You think that magic is the reason you and Mami work so well together?" Maybe you're imagining it, but there's the slightest trace of amusement in Homura's voice as she answers you.
Sabrina/Mami: Even Homura 'ships it.

I definitely want to see what happens if we have the Chibi carry our soul gem 100 meters away from our body.
We can test it, but I suspect that we'd be left controlling only the chibi, with our human body collapsing.

Tangential thought: it has occurred to me that since Mami's chibis don't have a range limit, anytime we were going to be away from her for a while we could take a Mami-chibi with us and cuddle it anytime she was feeling lonely, and she would be able to feel it.

Yea, but those have a corruption cost and our cleansing has a range limit, so we're asking Mami to expend a stupidly large amount of magic to do what could suffice with telepathy.

I'm not saying it's the most practical option (although a Clear Seed could easily handle any corruption build-up while we were away), just that if Mami is still having trouble dealing with being separated from us (last night she didn't even want to be in a different room from us, much less a different city), it might help function as a security blanket for her.

That's the desired outcome, compared to our experience of waking up when Homura gave our soul gem back, with no memory of any time having passed in between. (now, this was in time stop and Homura could in theory have dropped us out of timestop while making her way back to our body, but I got the impression that that wasn't what was going on)

"As long as at least one body [and the chibi counts as a body] is within range, we can still function" is a massive strategic advantage, because we could, for example, keep our soul gem in a flying construct that can evacuate straight up into the stratosphere if a battle goes badly, and retrieve our body later (or make a new one).

Also, we can create a custom battle-body while we leave the original in a freezer somewhere. It would be extremely vulnerable to anti-magic, but if we are fighting an anti-mage in close quarters we already did something wrong somewhere.

Or keep our human body safely locked away in a fortified bunker and send out disposable Grief bodies in dangerous situations.

I'd considered that, but the problem with leaving our human body behind as a routine thing is that it's made of meat, and meat tends to rot. This isn't theoretical, it actually happened to Sayaka in one of the video games.

But then we get freezer burn.

... What would Homura look like with white hair?
I tried Googling for "hime cut with white hair" to put up as an example, but got very few results. :p Apparently the black hair is just considered a classic part of the style.

Basically, her outfit wouldn't look half as decent because long white hair ain't good for its color scheme.
Yeah, her look is all about the black, gray and purple accents on her schoolgirl-style uniform, so this huge expanse of pale white would really stand out.

Basically it would look wrong, sort of like when Lina Inverse's hair turns white after she casts the Giga Slave:

You don't have to send Chibi-brina outside of 100m from Sabrina's body to figure out what would happen.

You can determine where Sabrina's range is centered by moving Sabrina's Soul gem near the edge of her range and then try to move some grief around past where the limits would be if it were centered on her body or her soul gem respectively.

This can be done even easier if Sabrina's gem has a bit of grief remaining in it to tug it around with.

What if Sabrina's hair turns white after she uses a lot of magic??? :o

... What would Homura look like with white hair?
You know, there's one way to find out (IC).

<_<
>_>

What if we just have Homura put it in her shield? :V
Just ask!

"Homu can I see inside your shield?"

"Sure."

*Puts Sabrina inside Shield*

*Sabrina pops out of Shield wearing a hawaiian shirt and drinking a piña colada*

"That was amazing! It's so cool inside your Shield, Homura! Why didn't you tell me?"

*Shrugs awkwardly*

"Nobody's ever asked before."

How would we know?

Except that's not what we're discussing testing. The question is whether, assuming the range is centered from our soul gem (which I thought we knew for a fact was true, but can't remember why), having Chibi-brina active will allow us to retain awareness after having lost control of our main body.
