[X] Quick telepathy: Ask Sayaka and co. how the homework is going? Keep it brief. If they ask, we can't help them with their homework tonight. We have something important we need to do.
The only point of telepathying Sayaka was because there was a hidden link where she was talking about her homework, and that link lead to an update where she said she was postponing some homework, while right now she seems to think she doesn't have that much to do.

There's no reason to telepathy Sayaka or anybody else if we're not gonna just quickshot a warning and leave it at that; this is Mami time.

Sure. IRL. But in PMMM, we're farm animals. We evolved this way because that's how we were farmed. Iust think it fits the thees better.

We're not, though. He makes the comparison to make the point that his species treats us better than that.

And it makes no sense for him to have influenced our concept of cuteness; it's based on babies to play on our evolutionary instincts to protect them, which also extents to everything with baby-like traits.

It would also require Kyubey to understand emotions enough to prompt them through genetics. Lol yea right.

Honestly don't think kyubey is a hive mind, and it makes me twitch every time it's called that.
Too tired to debate, so I'll just explain why: Kyubey seems more a singular entity with multiple remote drones/proxies than a whole made up of multitudes of small parts like a hive mind.

Honestly that's basically the same thing, if he's controlling them simultaneously and able to partition his thoughts.

Hence the "keep it brief" caveat. I figured we had time for a quick check-in. We still have to get through dinner before we start the metabomb. But I'll go ahead and edit it.

EDIT: Done. Now I have to go to bed, so I'll be unresponsive for the next 8 hours or so.

As I suggested in my own vote, we made devices for that purpose one before when talking to Oriko and Kirika that seemed to prevent eavesdropping and lip-reading. We should be able to make them again

See my edit, das what i specified.

It's only a part of it, but... if you're okay with it, I think it's time to tell you about me and my memories, and how they pertain to you.

This is my main issue with your vote, @DrZiztah. This isn't just the memories about her, or just part of the metaknowledge. We're dropping the entire bomb, just not all this post.

[Q] Have best dinner ever.
-[Q] Mumi I need to tell you something important and difficult-
-[Q] Psyched!
[Q] Go to sleep.

Now, more seriously:

- [x] explain why we didn't tell her earlier: at first because we were still getting a grip on the situation after we woke up in an alley & because we were scared that Kyubey would get wind of it. Then there were days when there was just no time, and she was so hurt after she found out Kyubey had been lying to her that we couldn't stomach the idea of hurting her even more. And it was easy to let it just stay untold, because in the end, when QB had left and we could have made time to tell her, the real reason why we allowed ourselves to put it off was because we were afraid that if we told her, she wouldn't like us anymore. And the thought of her no longer being there was just too horrible for us.

This is just about explicitly reminding Mami how weak and pathetic she was from being made a fool by Kyuubey, that we were so afraid to talk to her, we had to shoulder the guilt of hiding secrets from her all this time.

[X] Redshirt Army.

Mmm... Nix the part about her having been hurt? I can feel that. Sure.

...

If we frontload the explanation of why we didn't tell her sooner, then it stabilizes her for the reveal. If we backload them... If we backload them we're almost confessing to her.

But the context of the actual interior is already pretty fucking stable these days...

Uhhh...

I actually like the backloading. @Redshirt Army I stole parts of your vote and left out others and made @Onmur's adjustment.

[X] Concentrate on making sure dinner tonight is perfect. Perfect food, perfect shoulder bumps with Mami while cooking, perfect tea after dinner, why not.
[X] Relax alongside her until we're both done eating.
[X] Tell mami we want to talk about the stuff we mentioned earlier. Is it alright if we grief-create some extra privacy measures? (OC: same as we used w/ Kirika and Oriko) We're kinda scared of this stuff getting out.
[X] Cleanse. Griefing out in the middle of this? Not happening. Cleanse as needed for duration of vote.

[X] Take a deep breath, then start. When we woke up in the alley, besides our knowledge of the puella magi system, we knew a bunch of other stuff. Some of it was very mundane, stuff you'd learn in school. On the other hand, some things were more important, and we want to talk about pretty much everything that's that way, but in particular, we knew some things about a small number of people. Homura, Madoka, Sayaka. Others. And Mami.
[X] We didn't know everything about her. We knew she was a veteran puella magi, that she liked to call attacks, that she would actively work to protect innocents. We knew she made really good cake, and that she was kind, friendly, and warm. We didn't know that she'd been in the archery club, we didn't know she could cook pretty much everything under the sun, we didn't know that she liked to play video games... and we didn't know that we would end up getting along with her so well. We didn't know her, we knew things about her.
[X] And, well, some of what we knew about her was private. We knew the circumstances of her wish, though not the text. We knew that she needed a friend. someone who would be there for her.
[X] ... which was why when she offered to let us live with her, we accepted.
[X] Wait for a response, head low.
[X] (somewhat response-dependent for format) We still should have told her earlier, and we're sorry that we didn't. At first there were real reasons for it -- we were still getting a grip on the situation after we woke up in an alley & we were scared that Kyubey would get wind of it. Then there were days when there was just no time...
[X] But at some point it changed from real reasons not to tell her to just excuses. It was easier to let it just stay untold, because in the end, when QB had left and we could have made time to tell her, the real reason why we allowed ourselves to put it off was because we were afraid that because we had kept it secret, that if we told her, she wouldn't like us anymore. She would want us to leave. And... We didn't want to leave. We wanted to stay.want to stay. We came here because she needed a friend, but in the course of getting to really know her, we've found that she is everything we could ever want in a friend and more.

[] We can follow with the rest of the stuff (the "other things that deserve talking about") after Mami is stable with the personal issues.

Lady-Regent. Since the true princess Madoka is currently unable to rule properly, that leaves Homura in charge.

Shinigami.

Consider the aesthetics of timestop. If we'd gone shopping in timestop the cashier would have every reason to think he died.

"... so I thought you should have a title, too, something Minister of Defence Homura, or Chief Assassin Homura, or Hassan Homura, something cool, you know? Maybe Lady-Regent Homura? Shinigami Homura? The Bogeyguca, Presidente, The God Damn Batman? What do you think?"

"... Whatever you like is fine."

"Don't you have any preferences?"

"No. I don't care."

"Oh... OK. I'll ask Mami what she thinks."

*Leaves*

... Madoka's Knight Homura... nah.

I'm... actually going to partly disagree with this one. I don't exactly find how that wording implies how we're only telling some small part of it either, as the line is to emphasis use explaining the nature of our memories (for lack of a better term), and tie it together more coherently with issues most relevant to Mami herself. Also, we're not dropping all of our metaknowledge to my understanding. Or is someone seriously suggesting that we should tell everything about Homura here?
Ding dong, I'm blind.

However, @Onmur makes a good point. Need to recheck stuff later tonight.

Made some changes to the vote according to Onmur's and Kaizuki's criticism. FYI for those of you voting for the option

[] Quick telepathy: Ask Sayaka and co. how the homework is going?
[] Concentrate on making sure dinner tonight is perfect. Perfect food, perfect shoulder bumps with Mami while cooking, perfect tea after dinner, why not.
[] Cleanse. Griefing out in the middle of this? Not happening.
[] Anti-QB measures (tell Mami what you're doing, purpose is to talk privately)
[] Mami, so, I need to tell you about the stuff I said I was going to tell you about. If you're okay with it, I think it's time to tell you about me and my memories, and also how they pertain to you.
- [] explain why we didn't tell her earlier: at first because we were still getting a grip on the situation after we woke up in an alley & because we were scared that Kyubey would get wind of it. Then when we got to know her, the real Mami, we found we couldn't bring ourselves to talk about it. And when Kyubey was no longer there, it had already become a secret to keep. Because of that, we became afraid of telling her about this. We were afraid that that she would no longer like us, even hate us for keeping things like that from her... It was simply easier to tell ourselves that we would get to it later, or that it wasn't the right time for it yet. It was just too easy to keep going and pretend it was okay that way.
-- [] But because she's so important to us, we can't not tell her. And we absolutely can't keep making excuses for not telling her anymore.

[] When we woke up in the alley, we knew about more than just the magical girl system. When it comes to things like languages, cultures, or facts you might learn in school, we don't even know how much we know. But there was more than that: we knew some things about a small number of people. Homura, Madoka, Sayaka. Others, and other things, all of which matter and most of which deserve talking about... And about Mami.
-[] We didn't know everything about her.
[] And, well, some of what we knew about her was private. We knew the circumstances of her wish, though not the text. We knew that she needed a friend, someone who would be there for her.
[] ... which was why when she offered to let us live with her, we accepted.
[] We still should have told her earlier. And we're sorry for her being hurt again. But not telling would be even worse.

[] Let her react to that, if it feels appropriate, inform her that we haven't stayed with her merely because she needs a friend, we've stayed with her because in the course of getting to really know her, we've found that she is everything we could ever want in a friend and more. And because she needs a friend, of course, that too. Tell her that it's because we care about her.

All through the "explain why we didn't tell her" part, Mami's going to be panicking about what exactly Sabrina means about her memories and how her memories pertain to Mami. Oh god, did Sabrina get her memories back, she's going to leave me isn't she, please no I can't do this again.

There's no other reasonable interpretation for our memories pertaining to her.

Don't make her go through that for any longer than absolutely necessary.

Damn Mami, always nagging about her feelings inside our head.

This can't stand anymore!

[Q] Fine! If she wants you to leave, you'll leave!
-[Q] Leave.
--[Q] Um... where the hell's the door? You could swear the building didn't have this many looping hallways, tea rooms, or-
---[Q] Oh hi Candeloro.

That was why I suggested opening with telling her how important she is to us before we get into things, so that her fear of abandonment doesn't have the chance to kick in.

Jesus, people are planning this with all of the grim word-smithing of a guy planning to tell his girlfriend that he's been cheating on her, but that's all over now, baby. Like if we can just put it all in the right order, give her exactly the right set of reassurances, that's going to change up the result. It really does feel like that, down to the careful notes about making sure Mami has a happy and relaxing dinner.

Well my suspicion is that just like Mr. Cheating Boyfriend, Sabrina's precise word order and phrasing isn't going to matter a whole lot. But if it gives everyone some false sense of control over the situation, sure, go ahead and quibble.
