Warning: Guy rambling here, migh not reach conclusions.

The amount of grief generated at any given time depends on the amount of grief in the soul gem.
The capacity of controlling said grief also depends on the amount of grief in the sg, but the relationship is inverse.

On the potential, on a grief spiral the amount of grief increases until the sg is filled, at that point peak grief is reached and the sg beomes a grief seed.

If the grief is extracted with the purpose of leaving the sg with a given amount, the grief output depends directly on the amount present in the sg. The closer to the breaking point, the higher the output.

On the danger side, on a grief spiral our capacity to control becomes zero at the breaking point. It may be an abrupt change, one moment we are able to extract grief, the other we are not.

So the question is, what's the highest amount of grief that can be maintained in the soul gem? So far, we know that maintaining the sg at 0% is possible, but we should test at 20%, 50% and in company, at 70%

If successful the technique would allow to create grief before battle, and we wouln't need to carry grief all the time.
Take 80% or 85% as our limit, considering an error of +/- 5% and in company of others to be safe.

Carrying grief also isn't meaningfully inconvenient, so how about we don't do that.
It could be if we somehow allow grief to slip and accidentally rehatch a witch.

The very idea is preposterous because Grief under our controls does whatever we tell it to with no margin of error, unless we tell it do so something it won't do. 'Letting Grief Slip' is a totally preposterous concern, and even if it does rehatch a Witch, we'd be right there and can auto-rend it.

We shouldn't ever go above 25%.

This gives me an idea.

Our veteran meguca friends are super sensitive to Witchy Grief, due to experience. How about... we start minimally compressing our Grief? Just enough so it feels a little more witchy than normal. With time, we can get Mami and Homura somewhat used to the witchy feeling, so our using it mid battle doesn't startle them?

And then Sayaka was in a witch's belly because she didn't notice it.

And dull their combat reflexes? no.

And dull their combat reflexes? no.
I'm not sure it would.

Though, we probably can just warn them right before we start casting witchy magics, and be fine with that.

You know, it's been speculated Walpurgis might be resistant to mundane attacks, so in the event Sabrina can't shred her, Witchy Grief should be preeety good against Walpurgis. We'd just need someone to watch out for us while we trance.

That would simply add more density to our grief, while it would make it different, it would probably make it much more intimidating.

There is always a margin of error on what we do, it's as simple as that, besides grief seeds absorb grief that surrounds them so it can be a possible scenario.
We should try to make a device capable of extracting grief from our gem. Better yet, a device capable of maintaining grief below a certain amount.
We would need to master the first point to do the second.

Hey, Crasian Coalition.

For the sake of moving this along, what say we just en masse switch to current Agent Whiskers vote? I honestly think it'll be about the same and the phrasing changes probably aren't that super meaningful.

No, not really. If we tell grief to stay in inert spheres, they stay inert spheres FOREVER until we change their properties or they fall outside of our range. We can keep Grief Seeds from absorbing grief if we deliberately will it, and can empty Seeds perfectly, nigh-instantly. We can observe a big scary Witch and say "lolno" and just take away every single tiny bit of Grief it has to its name. In a second.

This is not a problem you should be wasting your time on.

Sabrina: *hugs Homura*

*glances at Mami*

*Mami joins the hugging*
*Tries to shift awkwardly*

*Nudges Mami*

"Mami, it's Homura that really needs the hugs right now."

"Oh, OK."

*Re-hugs so Homu gets the proper amount of hugs*

*Is actually really uncomfortable right now*

"Um..."

"Shhh... Homu sandwich is good for health."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"What-"

"I MEAN HUGS ARE GOOD FOR YOU!"

*Tears up*

"Aw... Homura, are you crying because you're happy your friends are with you?"

"... Don't shout it my ear."

"Oops, sorry."

*Madoka walks* Hello? I thought we were going to ... *sees everyone hugging Homura* ... *joins in*

Oriko: *watches from a near by rooftop sipping tea* I have to admit this is unexpected based off the visions I've had for her... truly it takes a fool to ignore the walls such as those.
Kirika: Umm could I?
Oriko: ... You may
Kirika: YAY *glomps*

Oriko: You didn't let me go when you ran over to hug Homura.
Kirika: So?
Sabrina: Hi Oriko!
Homura: ...I'm so confused.

"Hey, what are you doing?

"We're hugging Homura."

"Don't mind if I do."

*Joins the hug*

"Hey there how's it- are you hugging Homura? Can I join?"

"Only if you reconcile with Mami first."

"Oh, well, OK... Mami you're a pretty nice gal, we OK?"

"We OK."

*Joins the hug*

*Joined the hug*

Sasa: WHAT AM I DOING HERE... REALLY?!
"We adopted you, don't you remember?"

"Wait, that actually happen-"

"Just join the family activity."

*Joins the hug*

"I familiy, big sis?"

"Of course, Nagisa!"

*Joins the hug*

"I..."

"Come 'ere, Yuma."

*Joins the hug*

"What are we doing?"

"Hugging Homura."

"Wait, actually... Um, OK, everybody let go! I just realized, but..."

*Group hug dissolves*

"... Where's Homura?"

"I thought you were holding her."

"I know, right?"

*Holds her heart while trying to slow her breathing*

*Actually sneaked out and is sitting on the ledge of the rooftop*

*Sits shoulders touching with Homura*

"It's a nice view, isn't it?"

"It's... nostalgic."

*Leans against Madoka*
